Abstract

Dalam rangka merenovasi Sekolah MTs Negeri.2 Cicaheum yang berlokasi di Jalan Antapani Nomor 76, Kecamatan  Antapani, Bandung, Jawa Barat, perencanaan struktur telah dilakukan dengan penekanan pada pondasi. Sebagai langkah persiapan, dilakukan penyelidikan geoteknik yang komprehensif di lapangan. Untuk merancang pondasi telapak yang sesuai untuk proyek renovasi sekolah ini, diputuskan menggunakan dimensi B = L, dengan lebar 1,50 m, kedalaman 2,50 m, dan tebal 0,35 m. Hasil perhitungan kapasitas daya dukung menggunakan Metode Terzaghi menghasilkan nilai qall sebesar 117,02 kN/m2, sementara Metode Meyerhoof menghasilkan nilai qall sebesar 113,17 kN/m2. Sementara itu, baik tegangan tanah maksimum (qmax) maupun tegangan tanah minimum (qmin) keduanya sekitar 112,692 kN/m2. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada tegangan tarik pada tanah, mengindikasikan bahwa pondasi ini dinyatakan aman. Dalam perencanaan struktur pondasi, tulangan lentur utama memiliki ukuran dengan 10 batang berdiameter 12 mm (D12) dalam arah x dan 9 batang D12 dalam arah y. Sementara untuk tulangan susut (sengkang), digunakan ukuran Ø10 – 200.

Abstract

The development of earthquake-resistant infrastructure in disaster-prone areas requires a holistic and evidence-based approach to risk management. Indonesia, located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, faces a high earthquake risk, making risk management essential in construction projects. This study explores strategies for mitigating risks in earthquake-resistant building projects by reviewing literature and case studies. Key findings highlight the effectiveness of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and adherence to international standards like Eurocode 8 and ASCE 7-16 in minimizing construction risks. BIM enhances project planning and collaboration, while international standards provide robust guidelines for structural design, reducing earthquake impacts. Challenges, such as limited budgets, technical knowledge gaps, and poor coordination among project stakeholders, were identified. These findings emphasize the need for a comprehensive approach to managing construction risks in earthquake-prone regions. Integrating technology, standards, and risk management practices is crucial to ensure structural integrity and occupant safety in earthquake-resistant buildings.

Abstract

Land as a national asset must receive attention in terms of distribution and ownership. Therefore analysis is very important to support Land Value Zoning (ZNT) mapping. In practice, there are various factors that influence land price determination and these factors must be taken into consideration. Because the position of the land determines the value of the land, especially those in disaster-prone areas. Its importance is not only for buying and selling transactions but in making decisions related to infrastructure development and risk mitigation. Based on these conditions, this research aims to analyze the influence of the factors analyzed including the distance of the object from the main road, the distance of the object to the central business district (CBD), and the width of the road. The factors that influence land value are studied using the multiple regression method. The method used in this research uses a quantitative approach with a multiple regression research design. The analysis results show that distance to the CBD, distance to the main road, and road width have a positive and significant influence on land value with an influence of 69.2%. The remaining 30.8% was influenced by other factors not studied.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the understanding of construction materials and their applications among students at SMK Swasta Pembda Nias. In the construction industry, selecting the right materials is crucial for efficiency and project success. This study explores various materials such as concrete, wood, and steel, along with the application of effective project management methods. The findings indicate that lightweight bricks are more cost-effective and time-efficient than traditional red bricks. Furthermore, the implementation of the Project Evaluation Review Technique (PERT) and the use of measuring tools like theodolites contribute to improving students' skills in project planning and execution. Monte Carlo Simulation is also proven to be more accurate in structural reliability analysis compared to the First-Order Reliability Method (FORM). Therefore, improvements in teaching methods through practice-based approaches, technology utilization, and industry involvement are necessary to prepare students for challenges in the construction field.

Abstract

Early introduction to civil engineering is essential to enhance students' understanding and interest in this field. This study analyzes the effectiveness of an interactive education approach in the promotion of the civil engineering study program for students at SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli. A mixed-methods research approach with a quasi-experimental design was used. The results showed that students who participated in interactive education-based promotion experienced a more significant increase in understanding and interest compared to those who received conventional methods. This approach proved to be more effective in increasing student engagement, providing more practical learning experiences, and helping them grasp civil engineering concepts more comprehensively. Therefore, an interactive education approach is recommended for study program promotion in vocational schools to enhance learning effectiveness and better prepare students for careers in civil engineering.

Abstract

Water resources are essential for community life, especially in agriculture and domestic needs. However, there is still a lack of understanding among young people regarding sustainable water management. This community service activity aims to educate local youth about the concept, function, and benefits of simple dams in water resource management. The methods used include counseling, demonstrations, and field practice. The results show an increase in participants' understanding, from 35% before the activity to 85% afterward. Additionally, potential locations for simple dam construction were identified as an initial step for future implementation. This program is expected to encourage youth to play a more active role in sustainable water management and the preservation of water resources in their environment.

Abstract

The decline in environmental quality due to pollution is the impact of human behavior that does not understand the importance of protecting the environment. This problem also occurs in Hilizia Lauru Village, Hiliserangkai District, Nias Regency, where many people still do not understand environmental sanitation techniques as a whole. Sanitation facilities, lighting, air ventilation, waste management, and waste disposal still do not meet environmental health standards, so they are at risk of causing various infectious diseases and reducing the quality of life of the community. This study aims to analyze the environmental health conditions in Hilizia Lauru Village and evaluate the environmental sanitation techniques that have been implemented. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, involving observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain data on environmental conditions and efforts made to improve environmental health. The results of the study show that most people do not have adequate access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities. In addition, the waste management system is still traditional and poorly organized. Improvement efforts have been made through community education, construction of communal septic tanks, provision of clean water sources, and community-based waste management programs. The implementation of environmental sanitation techniques has had positive impacts, including reducing cases of environmental-based diseases and increasing public awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. However, challenges are still faced, such as limited facilities, lack of experts, and low community participation in environmental sanitation programs. Therefore, a sustainable approach is needed through collaboration between the government, health workers, and the community to create a healthier and more livable environment.

Abstract

Building failure in construction projects can have various legal impacts on construction service providers and users of construction services. This study aims to analyze the form of legal liability that can be imposed on the parties in cases of building failure based on the laws and regulations in force in Indonesia, especially Law Number 2 of 2017 concerning Construction Services. The research method used is normative juridical with a statutory approach and case studies. The results of the study indicate that construction service providers are responsible for building failures that occur due to errors in planning, implementation, or construction supervision. Meanwhile, users of construction services can also be held accountable if they are proven to be negligent in fulfilling their obligations to supervise and maintain buildings. The sanctions that can be imposed are in the form of compensation, administrative sanctions, and even criminal sanctions in certain cases. This study is expected to contribute to the development of construction law in Indonesia and become a reference for construction industry players in understanding the legal aspects related to building failure.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the community’s perception of water resource management in Desa X. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. The population consisted of all household heads in Desa X, and the sample size was determined using Slovin’s formula with a 5% margin of error and a proportional random sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted descriptively to determine the average perception scores based on four indicators: water availability, water quality, management, and community participation.The results showed that the overall community perception was categorized as good, with an average score of 3.98. The highest scores were obtained for water availability (4.15) and water quality (4.05), while the management indicator (3.78) had the lowest score, indicating a need for improvement. Community participation (3.92) was generally good, although some residents were less active. These findings suggest that water resource management in Desa X is relatively good but requires enhancements in governance, transparency, and community empowerment to achieve more sustainable management.

Abstract

The carpentry training program in Mudik Village aims to improve the technical and entrepreneurial skills of the community as part of local economic empowerment efforts. The three-day training program utilizes a combination of theory and practice. The first day focused on theoretical material, including an introduction to wood types, equipment usage, measurement techniques, occupational safety principles, and entrepreneurial fundamentals. The second and third days focused on hands-on practice in making simple products, such as bookshelves, covering the measuring, cutting, assembly, and finishing processes. Evaluation results showed significant skill improvements across all aspects, with the greatest improvement in the ability to use modern tools (+64%). Furthermore, participants demonstrated increased awareness of occupational safety and understanding of product marketing strategies. This training demonstrated that the three-day, integrative approach can improve skills while motivating the community to develop carpentry businesses. Future recommendations include further training, business mentoring, and the formation of village business groups to support the program's sustainability.
