Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted media in madrasah learning environments, addressing the limited availability of culturally and pedagogically responsive educational technologies in Islamic primary education. The research aims to develop and implement intelligent instructional media tailored to the cognitive, moral, and spiritual needs of madrasah students, while evaluating its impact on learning comprehension, reasoning, and communication. Employing a mixed-methods approach, this study combines qualitative data—analyzed using the latest NVivo software—from interviews, observations, and document analysis, with quantitative insights from user feedback and learning outcome measures. The results reveal that AI-integrated media significantly enhanced students’ conceptual understanding, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and creative expression. Additionally, teachers reported reduced instructional burden and improved student engagement. The findings contribute to the emerging field of AI in education by proposing a culturally grounded framework for AI adoption in Islamic schooling. This study not only underscores the transformative potential of AI in promoting inclusive, meaningful learning experiences in madrasahs, but also calls for strategic teacher training, ethical design, and policy support to ensure sustainable and value-aligned implementation.

Abstract

This study is a systematic literature review that aims to analyze the contribution of the concepts of tarbiyah, ta‘līm, and ta‘dīb to character formation in students during the contemporary era. The focus lies on how these three concepts can be integrated as the main pillars of Islamic education, encompassing intellectual, spiritual, and moral dimensions holistically. Data were obtained through the selection of scholarly articles indexed in Google Scholar and Scopus from 2014–2024, analyzed using a thematic approach based on the PRISMA protocol. The findings indicate that tarbiyah functions as holistic personality development, ta‘līm serves as the transmission of value-laden knowledge, and ta‘dīb plays a crucial role in instilling adab and ethics. When implemented integratively, these three elements can address the challenges of Islamic education in the digital era and strengthen the development of students' religious, ethical, and adaptive character. This study emphasizes the need for an Islamic education framework that focuses not only on knowledge acquisition but also on shaping the complete human being (insān kāmil) through the harmony of intellect, heart, and action.

Abstract

This study examines the process of transforming bilingual classes into international classes at MTs Ummusshabri Kendari and analyzes the community's response to the transformation. This article used a case study approach; the research involved in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results show that this transformation involved significant changes in curriculum, pedagogical approach, and learning infrastructure. MTs Ummusshabri adopted the Cambridge curriculum integrated with the national curriculum and Islamic values. The main challenges include improving teachers' competencies, providing adequate facilities, and balancing international standards and madrasah identity. Community response, especially parents, has been generally positive, although there are concerns regarding tuition fees and academic pressure. The transformation has improved students' English proficiency, critical thinking skills and global outlook. MTs Ummusshabri's success in integrating international standards with Islamic values makes it a potential model for other madrasahs in Indonesia. This research highlights the importance of curriculum adaptation that considers local needs and religious values in the context of international education.
