Abstract

Bullying is an action carried out with the aim of hurting or harming someone, either through cruel words, social exclusion or physical violence. This behavior can occur in a variety of environments, such as school, work, or even online, and often leaves a deep psychological impact on the victim. This research aims to explore the phenomenon of bullying in junior secondary education. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. Sampling used random sampling techniques and a sample of 100 students at Junior High School (SMP) was obtained. Data collection used the Bullying Behavior Tendency Instrument in Secondary Students. Data analysis uses item analysis, indicators with classification techniques for the level of student bullying behavior using Excel and SPSS. The research results found that indicators of bullying behavior were generally in the very low category and indicators of having experienced bullying were mostly in the very low category, but some were in the very low, medium and high categories. It was then found that there were significant differences in bullying behavior in terms of gender, while there was no difference in the level of bullying received in terms of gender, meaning that the bullying behavior received was relatively the same between men and women.

Abstract

This study provides a theoretical investigation into the multidimensional impacts of bullying on students’ academic and social activities within elementary schools. Utilizing a literature review approach, this paper synthesizes findings from academic journals, educational reports, and media publications to explore how bullying affects students’ learning engagement, classroom participation, and mental well-being. Documentation methods were employed to collect and analyze relevant sources, enabling a conceptual understanding of bullying as one of the major ethical and psychological challenges in education. The findings reveal that victims of bullying often experience decreased academic performance, emotional distress, and social withdrawal due to persistent fear and anxiety in school environments. This study contributes to the theoretical and practical discourse on creating safe learning environments and highlights the necessity of preventive and intervention strategies to promote anti-bullying awareness among educators and policymakers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada hambatan keterbukaan diri remaja terhadap orang tua, khususnya dalam konteks keluarga yang tidak harmonis. Remaja sering menghadapi tantangan dalam mengekspresikan dirinya kepada orang tua, terutama ketika keluarga mengalami perceraian atau konflik internal. Perceraian menjadi faktor utama yang menyebabkan remaja sulit untuk terbuka karena mereka cenderung merasa terasing dan kurang mendapatkan dukungan emosional yang memadai. Komunikasi yang kurang efektif juga memperburuk situasi ini, terutama ketika remaja tinggal terpisah dari orang tuanya. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, penelitian ini melibatkan tiga remaja yang tinggal di salah satu panti sosial di Ogan Ilir, Sumatera Selatan. Wawancara mendalam dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keterbukaan diri mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perceraian orang tua, kurangnya komunikasi, serta ketidaknyamanan dalam hubungan keluarga menjadi hambatan utama keterbukaan remaja. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya menciptakan lingkungan yang aman dan mendukung untuk meningkatkan keterbukaan diri remaja, yang akhirnya berkontribusi positif terhadap kesejahteraan emosional dan hubungan keluarga.
