Abstract

Interpersonal communication plays a crucial role in creating a conducive and productive learning environment, particularly in the teaching and learning process. A harmonious relationship between teachers and students through effective communication can enhance students' motivation, self-confidence, and engagement in learning while also fostering their character development. This study aims to identify the role of interpersonal communication in supporting the success of the teaching and learning process, addressing existing barriers, and exploring its benefits in character development. The research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, involving data analysis from scientific journals, books, and relevant documents. The findings reveal that effective interpersonal communication not only impacts students' academic achievements but also contributes to building character values such as empathy, respect, and responsibility. Communication barriers, such as cultural differences, language issues, and lack of communication skills, can be addressed through training, the use of visual aids, and the integration of educational technology. With this approach, interpersonal communication becomes a key element in modern learning processes, both in face-to-face and digital contexts.

Abstract

In the digital era dominated by social media, interpersonal communication has undergone significant transformation. This study aims to explore the challenges and opportunities that arise in interpersonal communication within the digital environment through a literature review. By analyzing various academic sources, articles, and case studies, this research identifies key aspects that influence human interaction, including changes in how individuals communicate, the impact of social media platforms on social relationships, and the dynamics of privacy and trust. The results indicate that social media can be a tool for strengthening connections, but it also presents risks such as misinterpretation and the reduction of communication depth. This study concludes that a deeper understanding of interpersonal communication in the digital era is essential to optimize social interactions and address the challenges present. It is hoped that these findings will serve as a foundation for further research and the development of effective communication strategies in the digital age

Abstract

Platform media sosial seperti TikTok memainkan peran signifikan dalam membentuk dan mereproduksi standar kecantikan di era digital, terutama di kalangan Generasi Z. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana konten-konten di TikTok memengaruhi persepsi Gen Z terhadap standar kecantikan, serta bagaimana mereka merespons dan menegosiasikan konstruksi sosial tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur dan wawancara semi-struktural terhadap 15 informan Gen Z yang aktif menggunakan TikTok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa algoritma TikTok cenderung mengangkat representasi kecantikan yang homogen, seperti kulit putih, tubuh langsing, dan wajah simetris, yang berdampak pada pembentukan citra diri dan kepercayaan diri pengguna muda. Namun, ditemukan pula adanya perlawanan dalam bentuk konten self-acceptance dan body positivity yang mencoba mendekonstruksi narasi dominan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa TikTok bukan hanya media hiburan, tetapi juga arena penting dalam konstruksi identitas sosial dan budaya visual di era digital. Abstract Social media platforms like TikTok play a significant role in shaping and reproducing beauty standards in the digital age, particularly among Generation Z. This study aims to analyze how TikTok content influences Gen Z's perception of beauty standards and how they respond to and negotiate these social constructions. Using a qualitative approach, this research employs literature studies and semi-structured interviews with 15 Gen Z informants who are active TikTok users. The findings reveal that TikTok's algorithm tends to amplify homogenous beauty representations—such as fair skin, slim bodies, and symmetrical facial features—which impact users’ self-image and confidence. However, the study also identifies forms of resistance through self-acceptance and body positivity content that challenge dominant beauty narratives. These (Firamadhina & Krisnani, 2021)findings highlight that TikTok functions not only as an entertainment platform but also as a crucial space in the construction of social identity and visual culture in the digital era

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan strategi penulisan judul berita antara media online yang menggunakan clickbait dan media yang mengutamakan kredibilitas. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis tematik terhadap dua media daring nasional, Okezone.com dan Tempo.co, yang masing-masing mewakili karakteristik judul clickbait dan judul kredibel. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Okezone.com secara konsisten menggunakan judul yang hiperbolis, provokatif, dan menggugah rasa penasaran untuk menarik klik, meskipun seringkali tidak sejalan dengan isi berita. Sebaliknya, Tempo.co mengutamakan akurasi, netralitas bahasa, dan kejelasan informasi, sehingga membangun kepercayaan jangka panjang dari pembacanya. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa strategi judul berita tidak hanya berdampak pada tingkat klik dan jangkauan pembaca, tetapi juga berpengaruh terhadap persepsi audiens terhadap integritas dan kredibilitas media. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar media daring menyeimbangkan kebutuhan bisnis dengan tanggung jawab etis dalam penyampaian informasi Abstract This study aims to analyze the differences in headline writing strategies between online media that employ clickbait techniques and those that prioritize credibility. Using a qualitative approach with thematic analysis, this research compares two Indonesian news portals: Okezone.com and Tempo.co, each representing clickbait and credible headline styles respectively. The findings reveal that Okezone.com consistently uses hyperbolic, provocative, and curiosity-driven headlines to attract clicks, often misaligned with the article content. In contrast, Tempo.co emphasizes accuracy, linguistic neutrality, and clarity of information, thereby fostering long-term trust from its readers. These results highlight that headline strategies not only impact readership engagement and reach but also shape public perception of a media outlet’s integrity and credibility. This study recommends that online media balance business interests with ethical responsibilities in information dissemination.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of social media and popular trends on the lifestyle transformation of students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) using a qualitative descriptive approach. This study aims to explore the understanding, experience, and meaning formed from the use of social media, especially TikTok and Instagram, in shaping students' lifestyles. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with active UINSU students selected using purposive sampling techniques. The results of the study indicate that social media is the main medium in spreading lifestyle trends, including a minimalist lifestyle, which is often at odds with students' consumptive behavior.
