Abstract

Developing Pancasila student profile dimensions and 21st-century skills remains a significant challenge in modern education. This study aims to enhance 21st-century skills and strengthen the Pancasila student profile by integrating Project-Based and Problem-Based Learning methodologies grounded in research and community service. A mixed-methods approach was employed, with qualitative data collected from three informants selected through purposive sampling and quantitative data gathered from 68 respondents using total sampling. Data collection methods included questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. Qualitative data is analyzed through the stages of reduction, display, and conclusion, while quantitative data is processed using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis through JASP software. Triangulation was applied to ensure the validity of the qualitative data, and statistical tests were used for the quantitative data. The results indicate that integrating project-based and problem-based learning in the Social Sciences Learning course, Research Methods, and Social Statistics significantly enhances the dimensions of the Pancasila student profile while improving 21st-century skills. This study highlights the effectiveness of combining innovative learning models to foster students' character and skill development.

Abstract

Students’ understanding of political literacy and civic knowledge remains relatively low, as observed among 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Takalar. This low level of understanding highlights the need for more contextual and character-oriented learning strategies. This study aims to examine how the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) can improve students’ political literacy and civic knowledge. It also seeks to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the project’s implementation, analyze the implications for students’ understanding, and propose solutions to the identified challenges, particularly by focusing on the enhancement of critical thinking dimensions. The research employed a mixed methods approach with a qualitative-dominant emphasis. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative respondents were selected via simple random sampling, while qualitative informants were chosen purposively. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, and quantitatively through verification and percentage analysis of the questionnaire data. The findings indicate that the implementation of P5 significantly contributes to improving students' understanding of political systems, their ability to analyze political information, and their engagement with social and political issues. Furthermore, the project enhances students’ critical thinking, argumentation, and collaboration skills. In conclusion, P5 proves to be an effective approach in enhancing political literacy and civic knowledge while also fostering active and reflective citizenship among students.

Abstract

The urgency of this research arises from the persistently low learning achievement in Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) in Indonesian senior high schools, which is partly attributable to the suboptimal integration of digital technology into classroom instruction. This study aims to examine the effect of QR-code-based learning media on students’ PPKn learning achievement at SMA Negeri 2 Gowa, Bajeng District, Gowa Regency. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group design was employed. The population comprised all grade XI students in the 2024/2025 academic year, with two classes selected as samples: XI-A as the experimental group and XI-B as the control group (32 students in each class). Data were collected through learning achievement tests, questionnaires, and interviews, and were analyzed using an independent samples t-test and N-Gain score. The findings indicate that the use of QR-code-based learning media significantly improves students’ PPKn achievement, with learning gains falling in the medium to high categories based on N-Gain analysis. Questionnaire data further reveal that students respond positively to QR-code media, perceiving it as engaging, practical, and supportive of independent access to learning materials. These results lead to the conclusion that QR-code-based learning media is an effective and feasible alternative for enhancing PPKn achievement in the digital era. The novelty of this study lies in the systematic integration and evaluation of QR-code technology specifically within PPKn instruction at the senior high school level. This research contributes theoretically by enriching the literature on technology-enhanced civic education and practically by providing an evidence-based model of innovative digital media for classroom implementation.
