Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve student digital literacy at SMPS Muhammadiyah 55 Kandangan through the implementation of Quizizz application-based quizzes. Digital literacy is increasingly important in the current era of digitalization, especially in the learning process. Through the use of educational technology such as Quizizz, it is hoped that students can get used to using technology in an interactive and fun way. The method used in this service is counseling and training to students on the use of the Quizizz application and assistance during the implementation of quizzes. This activity involves 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students who take part in interactive learning sessions using Chromebook and laptop devices. The research design used a one group pretest-posttest model to evaluate the effectiveness of the activity. The results showed a significant improvement in students' digital literacy after using the Quizizz application, with more than 70% of students experiencing an increase in posttest scores compared to the pretest. The use of this game-based application succeeded in creating a competitive and fun learning atmosphere, which had a positive impact on student motivation. However, obstacles such as limited devices and internet access are challenges that need to be overcome so that technology-based learning can run more optimally.

Abstract

This activity aims to explore the influence of interactive technology on early childhood social and emotional development in early childhood education (ECED) settings. Interactive technologies such as tablets, learning apps and game-based educational devices are increasingly common in ECE classrooms. However, their impact on children's social and emotional development is still debated. This study used a quantitative survey approach with 50 children aged 4-6 years in ECD centers who had been using interactive technology for 6 months. The results of this activity show that interactive technology can have a positive influence on the development of children's social and emotional skills, provided that its use is directed and accompanied by teachers and parents. Children with moderate exposure to interactive technology showed improvements in their ability to interact with peers, as well as better emotional development in coping with frustration and understanding the feelings of others. However, there are also indications that excessive unaccompanied use may inhibit direct social interaction. Therefore, it is important to maintain a balance in the use of interactive technology in ECD to support children's optimal development.

Abstract

Daarul Putra Madinah Islamic Boarding School has an important role in producing a generation that is noble and knowledgeable in accordance with Islamic values. However, the challenges of the digital era present an urgent need for the pesantren to integrate information and communication technology (ICT) in its education system. This pesantren faces several obstacles, such as limited digital resources, lack of understanding of technology among students and teachers, and less than optimal technology-based learning methods in supporting the understanding of Islamic values. This implementation activity aims to strengthen Islamic values through a digital approach that is more effective and relevant to the times. The activity steps include digital literacy training, multimedia-based Islamic content development, and the application of information and communication technology (ICT)-based learning applications. The expected result is an increase in the capacity of pesantren in utilizing technology to strengthen religious learning, while instilling Islamic values in a more interactive and contextual manner. With the implementation of this activity, pesantren are expected to be able to answer the challenges of modernization without sacrificing the essence of Islamic values, while creating a more inclusive, interesting, and relevant learning environment for santriDaarul Putra Madinah Islamic Boarding School has an important role in producing a generation that is noble and knowledgeable in accordance with Islamic values. Abstract

Potato production in Sumatra plays an important role in supporting the national agribusiness sector. However, the uncertainty of factors such as weather, soil quality and farming practices often leads to fluctuations in production yields. This research aims to improve the accuracy of potato production prediction by applying the Backpropagation method in Artificial Neural Network. This research aims to find the best architecture model using the backpropagation method in predicting potato production in Sumatra. The data used was obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and divided into training and testing data. This study tested several artificial neural network (ANN) architectures with models 6-10-1, 6-30-1, 6-50-1, 6-70-1, and 6-100-1. The results showed that the 6-50-1 architecture model gave the best results with 83% accuracy and 1617 epochs. In addition, this model has a low Mean Squared Error (MSE) on both training and testing data, which indicates good performance in potato production prediction. By using the backpropagation algorithm, this study provides an effective solution to improve the prediction of agricultural commodity production, particularly potatoes, which is important for decision-making and distribution planning. These findings can assist farmers and policy makers in planning more efficient production strategies and anticipating production challenges. This research confirms the importance of applying artificial intelligence technology to support the sustainability of the agricultural sector in Sumatra.

Abstract

This research examines the application of artificial neural networks (ANN) in predicting the number of workers in Pematangsiantar City as an effort to build a more adaptive and measurable future of the world of work. This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of ANN techniques in processing historical data on the labor force to produce accurate predictions of future employment numbers. The research methodology involves using a dataset that includes key economic variables that affect the labor force, such as unemployment rate, economic growth, and other relevant variables. At the analysis stage, we implemented a ANN with an optimized configuration to model the complex patterns in the data. This research uses historical data related to the labor force, local economy, and other social indicators as model inputs. The results show that this technology can generate reliable predictions to support strategic decision-making, such as job training planning, resource allocation, and workforce policy development. In addition, the application of this technology is expected to help the government and economic actors in dealing with labor market dynamics in the digital era. This research also contributes to the literature on the application of machine learning techniques in the economic domain, by highlighting the potential and limitations of using ANNs to predict complex economic phenomena such as the labor force. Thus, this research contributes to the innovative utilization of smart technology to advance the local employment sector in Indonesia.

Abstract

Di era digitalisasi perkembangan dunia teknologi informasi melalui media semakin berkembang semakin pesat. Perkembangan teknologi saat ini memberikan dampak positif maupun negatif yang berpengaruh terhadap perubahan perilaku manusia baik bersosial dan berkomunikasi. Dalam hal tersebut penggunaan internet dan media sosial pada saat ini semakin meningkat setiap tahunnya terlebih pada saat masa Covid-19. Media sosial dapat menjadi sarana bagi manusia untuk melakukan interaksi jarak jauh. Pada generasi milenial saat ini sering terlihat tidak peduli terhadap keadaan sekitar, bahkan terlihat lebih memilih menghabiskan waktunya di dalam dunia maya. Akibat hal tersebut etika dalam penggunaan teknologi perlu ditingkatkan agar generasi milenial bijak menggunakaan teknologi di era digital. Maka diperlukan upaya pemberian ilmu pengetahuan dan pendampingan kepada generasi muda agar dapat berperilaku yang baik dalam dunia maya. Dosen Ilmu Komputer Fakultas FMIPA melalui kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat berupaya memberikan sumbangsih ilmunya kepada remaja akan menghadapi hal tersebut. PKM bertujuan untuk memperjelas konsep media sosial dan etika serta bagaimana iklan media sosial mempengaruhi remaja di era digital serta kegiatan sosialisasi membangun kesadaran moral dan etika dalam berinteraksi di era digital, semua peserta sangat semangat dalam mengikuti acara sampai selesai dan merasakan manfaatnya.

Abstract

Advances in information technology have contributed greatly to the transformation of payment systems, including the emergence of online payment applications or e-wallets. E-wallets such as ShopeePay and DANA have become popular in Indonesia due to the ease, speed, security, and flexibility of transactions they offer. This study aims to evaluate and compare the performance of the two e-wallets using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The SAW method is used to analyze and compare alternatives based on a number of predetermined criteria, such as ease of use, security, transaction speed, costs, and user satisfaction levels. Research data was obtained from various sources related to the performance of the two applications, including usage statistics and user reviews. The results of the analysis show that both apps have advantages in certain criteria; for example, ShopeePay is superior in transaction fees, while DANA stands out in speed and security. However, an overall assessment based on the weighting of the criteria reveals a final score that provides important insights for both users and developers. However, analysis using the SAW method provides deeper insight into the advantages of each application based on the weight of the relevant criteria. This study is expected to help users choose an e-wallet that suits their needs and provide guidance for application developers to improve service quality.

Abstract

The selection of middle-class gaming smartphones is a challenge for consumers because there are many choices with varying specifications. This research aims to help consumers make the best choice by applying the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. This method is used to provide recommendations based on a number of key criteria, such as processor performance, RAM capacity, screen quality, battery life, and price. The initial step in this research is to identify the problem, which is the selection of the best gaming smartphone in the middle-class category. Next, alternatives and relevant criteria were determined, followed by data collection through a questionnaire involving 78 respondents. The data obtained was analyzed using the SAW method to determine the importance weight of each criterion and the overall ranking of each alternative. The analysis results show that Infinix ranks highest as the best choice based on the aggregate score obtained for each criterion. The SAW method allows decision making to be more systematic and objective by considering predetermined weights. The conclusion of this study confirms that a SAW-based approach can assist consumers in choosing a gaming smartphone that suits their needs and preferences. This study also provides insights for manufacturers in devising more effective marketing strategies.

Abstract

In today's digital era, laptops are a major necessity for students to support academic activities. However, budget limitations are often an obstacle in choosing a laptop that suits the needs and financial capabilities. This research aims to implement the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method in an economical laptop recommendation system for students. The way this method works is by calculating alternative choices based on predetermined weights and criteria then sorting to find the best alternative from all existing criteria. So that the results will get a laptop recommendation that is closest to the suitability of the needs of prospective laptop users. The criteria used in the study include price, processor, RAM, storage capacity, and battery life. Sample data is taken from 8 laptop models with a price range of 3-7 million available on the market. The results showed that the application of the SAW method successfully provided laptop recommendations that were in accordance with the needs and budget limitations of students. With this recommendation system, students can more easily choose a laptop that suits their academic needs and budget limitations. This research is expected to be a reference for the development of decision support systems in the selection of efficient and appropriate technology devices.
