Abstract

The problems that will be studied in this research are as follows:  (1) What was life like for burgers and their settlements in Ambon City during the colonial period? (2) What was the condition of the people and settlements in the city of Ambon during the post-independence government period until now? To get answers to these problems, the research method used is the historical method which consists of four stages, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The purpose of this research is to apply urban historical studies using historical research methods. Practically, this research will be useful, especially for government practitioners and policy makers, especially in the Ambon City Government, namely related agencies, as well as for state governments in particular and in the Ambon Island and Lease Island Regions. The result of this research is that burgers are city residents. Those who live in the city of Ambon are both Dutch and European, Chinese, Arabs and Natives. They are classified into three types of burgers, namely Europeesche Burgers, Inlandsche Burgers and Moorsche Burgers. Due to their increasing number, the resident government arranged settlements, namely special settlements for burgers, including Kampung Mardika, Urimessing, Galala, Hunut, Lata, Lateri, Halong, Negeri Lama, Nania, Rumah Tiga (Nipah), Poka, and Waiheru.

Abstract

Education is the main key in building an intelligent and competitive generation. However, in remote areas such as Werwaru Village, Southwest Maluku, the challenges in education are quite significant, especially in increasing children's interest in learning. Gaps in facilities, lack of motivation, and limited resources are the main obstacles to their academic development. This research aims to explore the role of free tutoring activities carried out by KKN students at Pattimura University PSDKU MBD in increasing children's interest in learning in Werwaru Village. This program is carried out for 30 days with a frequency of three times a week and involves various interactive and creative learning methods, such as group learning, personal approaches, and educational games. The research results showed an increase in children's motivation and enthusiasm for learning, which was reflected in improvements in understanding of subject matter and increased student test scores. However, challenges related to program sustainability remain a major concern, especially after KKN students complete their assignments. This research suggests the need for partnerships with local institutions to ensure this program can continue to run and have a positive impact on future generations.

Abstract

This research was initiated because student learning outcomes were not yet optimal in science and science lessons on Plants, the Source of Life on Earth, one of the important materials in science and science subjects in elementary schools. This material contains basic concepts about the role of plants in ecosystems and human life. However, students often have difficulty understanding this material because of the limited interactive learning methods. The question card-based scramble method is proposed as a learning approach to improve student learning outcomes. This method involves using question cards containing queries or information that students need to rearrange according to the correct concept. This research aimed to determine the effect of the question card-based scramble method on the materials of Plants, Sources of Life on Earth, and class IV at SD Inpres Tounwawan. This research uses a pre-experimental quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. In this design, one group of subjects is given a pretest to determine the condition before treatment, followed by a posttest to measure changes after the treatment is given. Based on the data that has been collected from the results of data analysis on student test results in the pretest, it is still relatively low because they have not met the minimum completion criteria score, namely 65. Of the total 20 students, only 1 student meets the minimum completeness criteria. Based on the posttest results of class IV students, all of them have passed the minimum completion criteria score and reached 83%. Based on the T-test table above, the sig value can be explained. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, then there is an influence of the scramble method on learning outcomes for science material.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the implementation of a differentiated instruction model in History subject for Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 19 Seram Bagian Barat. Differentiated instruction is designed to meet the diverse learning needs of students based on their readiness, interests, and learning profiles. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 30 students of Grade XI. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed that the application of differentiated instruction significantly improved student learning outcomes. In the first cycle, student mastery reached 76 persen, which increased to 93 persen in the second cycle. The normal gain test results indicated a high level of improvement for most students, with an average g score of 1.85 Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of differentiated instruction is effective in improving student achievement in History.

Abstract

As technology develops, digital-based learning media is increasingly being used in higher education. The Wordwall application is a platform that allows lecturers and students to interact more dynamically through various educational game formats. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Wordwall application in increasing students' understanding of the material on the History of the Indonesian National Movement. After application, it will be seen whether it is useful or not. In this research, researchers used a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach. The reason for using this research method is because the researcher wants to know and provide a detailed, clear and concrete description of the use of the Wordwall application to increase understanding of the historical material of the Indonesian national movement. The Wordwall application enables interactive learning through quizzes, puzzles and educational games which make the learning process more interesting and dynamic. This study was conducted on students in the 4th semester of the Pattimura University history education study program in the history of the Indonesian National Movement course, and the results showed that Wordwall was able to increase students' participation, understanding and memory of the material being taught.

Abstract

The low level of reading literacy in remote areas, such as the Muna Barat Daya Regency, poses a significant challenge in basic education. One innovation proposed to address this issue is the implementation of Scramble Fun Learning, an educational game-based approach designed to enhance reading literacy skills in students at SD Negeri 1Weet. This community service activity was carried out in two stages: a theoretical stage, which provided foundational understanding about the importance of literacy and gamification approaches, and a practical stage involving both teachers and fifth-grade students in word arrangement activities. Scramble Fun Learning combines game elements with a gamification approach by having students arrange words from random letters. The main objective is to train vocabulary recognition, strengthen reading comprehension, and increase student motivation to learn. In this activity, students are challenged to form words or sentences within a limited time, which not only stimulates their creativity but also makes the learning process more enjoyable and engaging. This method enables students to learn while playing, which is particularly effective in overcoming the boredom that often occurs in conventional learning. The results of this activity showed a significant improvement in student enthusiasm, active participation, and literacy skills. Many students who were previously disinterested in reading activities became more enthusiastic and motivated. Despite limitations in resources and time, the activity was still effectively implemented, thanks to creative adjustments made by the implementing team to ensure the material and activities were well received by both students and teachers. Overall, these findings indicate that Scramble Fun Learning is a highly potential and applicable approach to improving students' reading literacy, especially in areas with limited educational resources. This approach not only enhances literacy skills but also builds students' interest and motivation to continue learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of Civics (PKn) learning outcomes through the implementation of the Active Learning model of the Role Reversal Question (ALTRRQ) type in fifth-grade students at Negeri Wakarleli Elementary School. The data collection methods used in this study included tests, observations, and documentation. The research instruments consisted of test items and observation sheets. The data analysis techniques employed were descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis. This study was a classroom action research (CAR), consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were nine fifth-grade students at Negeri Wakarleli Elementary School. The research instruments included teacher activity sheets, student activity sheets, and test questions. The collected data were analyzed using percentage formulas. The results showed that the percentage of teacher activity increased from 72.61% in Cycle I to 97.82% in Cycle II. Student activity also improved, rising from 66.66% in Cycle I to 95.65% in Cycle II. Student learning outcomes increased from 68.97% in Cycle I to 87.17% in Cycle II. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the Active Learning model of the Role Reversal Question (ALTRRQ) type in Civics instruction can improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at Negeri Wakarleli Elementary School.
