Abstract

This study explores the leadership role of women in da'wah with a focus on representation and transformational leadership. This study uses desk research methods to analyse relevant literature, with the aim of understanding how the representation of women in various forms of da'wah communication-such as lectures, writings, and social media-can influence people's perceptions of women's leadership capabilities. The research findings show that strong and positive representations of women in da'wah can change people's perceptions and open up opportunities for women to take on leadership roles. Key challenges faced in creating space for women's representation and leadership include persisting patriarchal norms, resistance from conservative parties, and limited access and resources. This analysis highlights that women's transformational leadership, characterised by a clear vision, attention to the individual, intellectual stimulation, and idealised influence, has great potential to bring about positive change in religious communities. The impact of this transformational leadership includes changing gender perceptions and stereotypes, increasing community participation, empowering individuals, and enhancing innovation and creativity. By addressing these challenges and supporting women's transformational leadership, religious communities can become more inclusive, just and dynamic. This research confirms the importance of strong representation and support for women in da'wah leadership to achieve significant social and cultural change.

Abstract

Islamic religious education faces various challenges that develop along with the times and social changes. Globalization, technology, politicization of religion, multiculturalism, and exclusivism are some of the main factors influencing the dynamics of Islamic religious education today. This research aims to discover the challenges and opportunities of Islamic religious education in a secular environment. The methodology used in this research is a literature study. The research results show that Islamic religious education in a secular environment faces complex challenges such as globalization, technology, multiculturalism, and religious exclusivism. Globalization brings secular values that conflict with Islamic religious teachings, while multiculturalism demands interfaith tolerance. Changes in the educational paradigm also require Islamic religious education to adapt to more holistic learning. However, opportunities, such as interfaith collaboration and the use of technology in learning, can be exploited. With a holistic and adaptive approach, Islamic religious education can strengthen Islamic identity, improve teacher quality, utilize technology, involve parents and the community, and realize comprehensive learning. This will help Islamic religious education become an important instrument in shaping student character, building interfaith harmony, and facing various challenges in modern life.Keyword : Islamic Religious Education; Multiculturalism; Secularism; Opportunities and Challenges

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas secara komprehensif perkembangan teori manajemen dari masa klasik hingga pendekatan modern serta relevansinya dalam manajemen pendidikan Islam. Kajian dimulai dengan menguraikan teori manajemen klasik yang berfokus pada peningkatan efisiensi melalui manajemen ilmiah, birokrasi, dan prinsip-prinsip administratif sebagaimana dikembangkan oleh tokoh seperti Frederick W. Taylor, Max Weber, dan Henri Fayol. Selanjutnya artikel mengkaji teori manajemen neoklasik yang muncul sebagai respons terhadap kelemahan pendekatan klasik dengan memperkenalkan aspek-aspek psikologis dan sosial dalam organisasi, melalui pemikiran tokoh seperti Hugo Munsterberg dan Elton Mayo. Pembahasan kemudian berlanjut pada pendekatan perilaku yang menekankan motivasi, dinamika kelompok, dan karakteristik individu dalam organisasi, termasuk teori-teori Maslow, McGregor, Herzberg, dan McClelland. Di samping itu, artikel mengulas pendekatan sistem dan kontingensi yang memandang organisasi sebagai kesatuan yang berinteraksi dengan lingkungannya serta menekankan bahwa tidak ada satu teori manajemen yang berlaku universal. Seluruh pendekatan tersebut kemudian dikaitkan dengan praktik manajemen pendidikan Islam, yang memiliki karakteristik dan kebutuhan khas dalam konteks kelembagaan, nilai keislaman, serta pola kepemimpinan. Artikel ini menegaskan bahwa pemahaman evolusi teori manajemen sangat penting bagi para manajer dan pemimpin pendidikan Islam agar mampu menerapkan pendekatan yang tepat sesuai situasi dan kebutuhan lembaga.
