Abstract

AbstractCases of sexual violence against children in the outermost, deepest, and most disadvantaged areas, such as South Papua, are still a sensitive issue and receive little attention, especially due to the lack of access to contextual reproductive health education. Students in grades 5 and 6 at SD Inpres Kepi, Mappi Regency, will learn about the personal body and what they may and cannot touch through this educational exercise. The approach involves face-to-face delivery of visual media, such as animated films and illustrated pamphlets, as part of participatory education. According to the findings, pupils can recognize private body areas, differentiate between safe and hazardous touches, and name which people are reliable sources of information. The students’ responses were very positive, shown by their active involvement in discussions and simulations. Educational media was considered effective because it was able to simplify sensitive material and improve children’s understanding. Reproductive health education based on simple and visual media has been proven to be effective in remote areas with limited resources.

Abstract

Purpose: DHF cases in Boyolali Regency have experienced an increase in cases over the last four years, and this has been accompanied by a decrease in the ABJ index by 89%, which is an indicator of the success of the Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) program. This research aims to identify factors that influence PSN behavior in society. Method: This research uses an observational analytical study design with a cross-sectional approach. Data was collected from 331 respondents in 30 cluster analyses, namely univariate, bivariate, and multivariate, using logistic regression. Results: 331 respondents were found to have good PSN behavior (59.8%). The results of the multivariate analysis showed that the influencing factors were high education level (aOR 2.80; 95%CI 1.31–6.00; p-value 0.008) and region of residence, live in urban areas (aOR 0.42; 95%CI 0.26-069; p-value <0.001), have good knowledge (aOR 1.67; 95%CI 1.01-2.76; p-value <0.042), and have a good attitude (aOR 1.75; 95%CI 1.07-2.86; p-value <0.025). Conclusion: Factors influencing PSN behavior in Boyolali Regency include education level, place of living, attitudes, and knowledge.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Daun Kelor, Kunyit, Simplisia, Minuman Herbal, Megabiodiversitas  ABSTRACT Degenerative diseases have become a major global health issue that requires more effective preventive approaches. One preventive effort that can be implemented is the utilization of family medicinal plants (TOGA). Family medicinal plants such as moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) and turmeric (Curcuma longa Linn.) are known to contain bioactive compounds with potential benefits in addressing degenerative diseases. To implement the processing of moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) and turmeric (Curcuma longa Linn.) into herbal drinks for the community of Selong Belanak Village, West Nusa Tenggara, as an effort to improve public health against the risk of degenerative diseases and to empower local potential. The program was conducted through socialization and training in Selong Belanak Village, West Nusa Tenggara. Educational media in the form of informative leaflets were provided, covering the potential, benefits, and processing methods of moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) and turmeric (Curcuma longa Linn.) as herbal plants. The training included direct demonstrations of herbal processing, from preparing fresh materials to producing and packaging simplicia powder, as well as brewing herbal drinks. Data were collected through discussions and visual documentation, and analyzed descriptively using data reduction, information classification, contextual interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The program resulted in an increase in community knowledge and skills in independently processing herbal plants, thereby enhancing health awareness while simultaneously empowering local potential. Keywords: Moringa Oleifera, Curcuma Longa, Simplicia, Herbal Drink, Megabiodiversity.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease with a high prevalence, particularly among the elderly, and is a leading cause of death in Indonesia. Bantul Regency is among the regions with a high incidence of hypertension, thus requiring community-based promotive and preventive interventions. Methods: This community service activity was conducted on February 21, 2020, in Modalan Hamlet, Banguntapan District, Bantul. The target participants were 39 pre-elderly and elderly individuals. The program consisted of two main stages: (1) blood pressure screening and health education on the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS), and (2) anti-hypertension exercise as a form of physical intervention. The education covered the definition, risk factors, complications, and prevention strategies for hypertension. Results: Most participants were found to have high blood pressure. The health education session received a positive response, with active engagement from participants. The anti-hypertension exercise was conducted collectively and was well accepted by the elderly. This intervention effectively increased participants' knowledge and awareness regarding healthy lifestyles and the importance of regular blood pressure monitoring. Conclusions: The combination of health education on GERMAS and anti-hypertension exercise effectively improved awareness and promoted healthy behavior among the elderly. This intervention is a valuable strategy for hypertension prevention at the community level.
