Abstract

Indonesia, which is in the subduction zone, is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis. This community service activity aims to increase the awareness of the youth of the Banguntapan Asri Housing Youth Organization regarding earthquake and tsunami disaster mitigation. Through interactive zoominar, participants were given material on the causes, impacts, and mitigation measures of disasters. The methods used include pre-test, post-test, and discussion sessions. The results of the evaluation showed an increase in participants' knowledge about earthquake and tsunami mitigation. However, there are still several questions that need to be answered further to improve similar programs in the future. Overall, this activity makes a positive contribution to efforts to build a disaster safe culture in the community

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan asesmen mahasiswa pendidikan fisika semester 4 melalui sosialisasi buku "Kontekstualisasi Asesmen dalam Pembelajaran Fisika: AfL, AsL, AoL". Metode yang digunakan adalah Forum Group Discussion dengan rincian observasi awal, identifikasi masalah, penyusunan materi, edukasi, dan pelaporan hasil kegiatan. Melalui metode ini, pada bagian edukasi, mahasiswa dilibatkan secara aktif dalam memahami konsep dan praktik asesmen, khususnya Assessment for Learning (AfL), Assessment as Learning (AsL), dan Assessment of Learning (AoL). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan keantusiasan dan pemahaman mahasiswa tentang berbagai jenis asesmen dan penerapannya dalam pembelajaran fisika. Mereka mampu memberikan umpan balik yang konstruktif, dan mengubah soal lama menjadi ada kebaruan dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan antusiasme dan partisipasi aktif mahasiswa, serta mendapatkan umpan balik positif. Diharapkan sosialisasi buku ini dapat berdampak positif pada kualitas pembelajaran fisika di masa depan.

Abstract

Gelombang Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) merupakan radiasi gelombang elektromagnetik dengan rentang yang sangat rendah, yaitu antara 0 hingga 300 Hz. Penerapan medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF)  dapat menghambat pertumbuhan mikroorganisme penyebab kerusakan pada industri pangan, sehingga membantu mempertahankan nilai pH yang optimal pada produk makanan. Penelitian gelombang Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) ini dilakukan dengan metode penelitian eksperimen laboratorium yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) terhadap ketahanan pH, massa jenis, aroma, tekstur dan rasa pada bahan pangan tape sigkong matang. Intensitas medan magnet yang kami gunakan pada penelitian ini sebesar 750 μT dengan dua kelompok subjek yang akan di amati yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Alat dan bahan utama yang dibutuhkan pada penelitian gelombang Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) yaitu tape singkong matang dan EMF-meter untuk mengukur radiasi elektromagnetik. Hasil penelitian pada kelompok eksperimen memiliki pH lebih tinggi daripada kelompok kontrol sehingga radiasi gelombang elektromagnetik Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) mempengaruhi aroma, tekstrur, dan rasa tape singkong matang tersebut. Hasil penelitiannya kelompok eksperimen memiliki ketahanan yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol.

Abstract

Tingginya angka kecelakaan lalu lintas di kalangan remaja menjadi isu penting yang dipengaruhi kurangnya pemahaman dan kesadaran keselamatan berkendara. Kondisi ini diperparah dengan pembelajaran fisika yang jarang dikaitkan dengan konteks nyata, sehingga siswa merasa materi kurang relevan. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan wawasan keselamatan berkendara siswa SMA Al-Furqan Jember dengan mengontekstualisasikan konsep kinematika pada konstruksi ikonik Jembatan Semanggi Jember. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan pendekatan STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) yang melibatkan demonstrasi, praktik, serta evaluasi menggunakan pretest dan posttest. Analisis kuantitatif dengan n-gain menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan sebesar 0,96 (kategori tinggi untuk 11 siswa peserta workshop), sedangkan hasil kualitatif mengindikasikan antusiasme siswa serta kemampuan mereka mengaitkan teori fisika dengan praktik berkendara sehari-hari. Temuan ini menegaskan efektivitas pendekatan STEM dalam membuat pembelajaran lebih bermakna dan aplikatif, sekaligus berimplikasi pada peningkatan kesadaran keselamatan remaja di jalan raya. Program ini direkomendasikan sebagai model pembelajaran kontekstual yang dapat direplikasi pada sekolah lain untuk mendukung pendidikan keselamatan berkendara.

Abstract

Conventional thermodynamics instruction frequently fails to bridge the gap between mathematical derivations and observable energy transfers, leaving students struggling to visualize cyclic processes in real systems. This study aims to develop and evaluate a contextualized worksheet using the otok-otok boat—a traditional steam-powered toy—as a real-world case study to support students' conceptual understanding. The research followed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The worksheet was validated by experts using the Aiken’s V index, yielding a range of 0.83 to 1, which indicates high content validity. The implementation involved 82 undergraduate physics education students, with evaluation data collected from 63 respondents through a mixed-method questionnaire. The results indicate that the developed worksheet successfully facilitates the exploration of key thermodynamic principles, including work and heat transfer, P-dV work, and the laws of thermodynamics, as evidenced by students' ability to articulate these concepts in their written tasks. While the otok-otok boat helped contextualize abstract concepts through observable processes, the results primarily reflect pedagogical usability and student engagement. Students perceived the learning experience as enjoyable and meaningful, supporting the worksheet's acceptability as an instructional tool rooted in local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Agrophysics e-module using the Articulate Storyline application and to evaluate its validity and feasibility as a teaching material to support sustainable industrial agriculture. A research and development method based on the 4D model was employed, encompassing the define, design, and develop stages. The research instruments included material and media expert validation sheets as well as user response questionnaires. Validation was conducted by three experts, and user trial responses were collected from 28 students. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The results of the material expert validation yielded an average score of 3.63, categorized as highly feasible, while media validation produced an average score of 3.33, also classified as highly feasible. Preliminary trial results indicated user responses with an average score of 3.70, falling within the highly feasible category. Consequently, the Agrophysics e-module was deemed feasible for use as a teaching material. The module was designed to integrate recent developments in the application of physics concepts in agriculture. Therefore, the developed e-module contributes to multidisciplinary physics learning within the context of supporting sustainable industrial agriculture.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Physics TPE program in improving teacher professionalism by considering the perceptions of its graduates. Data were collected through a self-assessment questionnaire/survey given to Physics TPE graduates regarding their teacher professional competence before and after participating in TPE. A total of 36 physics TPE graduates participated in this study. The results showed significant improvements in various aspects of teacher professionalism. Graduates reported improvements in their mastery of educational foundations, teaching program preparation, teaching program implementation, assessment, and student character building. In particular, the greatest improvement was observed in mastery of educational foundations, likely due to the alignment of the TPE curriculum with the stages of effective teaching. While teaching implementation showed the smallest improvement, it was still positive. Overall, the Physics TPE program was perceived well by its graduates, indicating its potential to contribute to the professional development of physics teachers.
