Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in history and culture. This history and culture are hereditary histories that are preserved and narrated from generation to generation. Folklore is one of the cultures that is still believed by the local community. One of the famous folktales is the story of Roro Jonggrang. The folktale of Roro Jonggrang is the folklore that is believed to be behind the existence of the largest Hindu temple in Southeast Asia, namely the Prambanan Temple. The story of Roro Jonggrang is a culture that stores local wisdom inherited from ancestors. Because a folktale is a story that is told by word of mouth, of course, it cannot be separated from the existence of some people who deny the truth of Roro Jonggrang's story. This is because scholars can find evidence regarding the original history of the Prambanan Temple. Even though there is a comparison between folklore and original history, folklore is still accepted as information in society. However, folklore is able to provide religious values, cultural values, ethical values, and social values. This paper will be explained in more detail how the folklore that developed in the community about Prambanan Temple.

Abstract

Indonesia is a nation rich in orally transmitted folktales that have been preserved across generations. One of the most renowned folktales is the legend of Roro Jonggrang, which is believed to underpin the existence of the largest Hindu temple in Southeast Asia, the Prambanan Temple. The story of Roro Jonggrang embodies local wisdom passed down from ancestors. Since folktales are traditionally conveyed orally, there inevitably exist differing perspectives that challenge the authenticity of the Roro Jonggrang narrative. This skepticism arises as scholars have uncovered evidence pertaining to the historical facts of Prambanan Temple. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research method, which is well-suited for systematically exploring and interpreting complex cultural phenomena. The findings reveal a comparative analysis between the folktale and historical accounts, demonstrating that the folktale is more widely accepted within the community. This acceptance is attributed to the folktale’s capacity to convey religious values, cultural heritage, ethical principles, and social norms associated with Prambanan Temple.

Abstract

Pembelajaran sejarah merupakan salah satu alternatif peserta didik dalam menelusuri nilai-nilai kehidupan dari jejak historis untuk menghadapi problema sesuai dengan kondisi zaman yang selalu berubah. Dalam pengajaran sejarah yang efektif, kreatif dan inovasi dapat mencapai pembelajaran historical-mindednes dan  memiliki wawasan sejarah terutama dalam menghadapi era covid 19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk berguna untuk meningkatkan nilai-nilai karakter peserta didik melalui inskripsi Kerajaan samudera pasai sehingga peran sejarah lokal dapat mengkosepkan proses dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis dengan kunjungan langsung ke lokasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan inskripsi kerajaan samudera pasai dalam pembelajaran sejarah dapat meningkatkan karakter peserta didik selama pandemi covid 19 serta menguatkan nilai-nilai karakter melalui implementasi pembelajaran sejarah berbasis inskripsi   kerajaan samudera pasai.
