Abstract

Community service activities in the form of Training and Coaching on Paraphrasing Techniques in Citing Literary Works for History Education Students of Pattimura University aim to improve paraphrasing skills and students' understanding of the ethics of citing academic literary works. The problem often faced by students is the difficulty in paraphrasing correctly, which results in the risk of plagiarism. This training is carried out in four stages, namely initial survey, counseling, practical guidance, and monitoring and evaluation. The initial survey helps identify students' basic level of understanding of paraphrasing techniques. The counseling and interactive discussion stages provide theoretical insights into academic ethics and paraphrasing techniques. Through practical guidance, students gain direct experience and feedback that improves the quality of their paraphrasing. Continuous monitoring through academic assignments and online discussion forums is also provided to monitor the development of students' paraphrasing skills. The results of the training show a significant increase in paraphrasing skills and students' awareness of the importance of citing literature ethically and effectively. Thus, this activity contributes to building a responsible academic culture at Pattimura University, especially in developing students' academic literacy skills in the field of history.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tradisi megalitik Pasemah merupakan salah satu warisan budaya prasejarah yang memiliki dampak besar terhadap perkembangan kebudayaan kontemporer di Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana elemen-elemen tradisi megalitik, seperti arca, menhir, dolmen, dan struktur batu besar lainnya, masih memiliki relevansi dan pengaruh dalam kehidupan budaya masyarakat modern. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa simbol-simbol megalitik tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai artefak sejarah, tetapi juga sebagai inspirasi dalam berbagai aspek kebudayaan kontemporer, termasuk seni, arsitektur, dan ritual adat. Selain itu, tradisi megalitik ini turut mempengaruhi cara pandang masyarakat terhadap hubungan dengan leluhur, keseimbangan alam, serta harmoni sosial. Dalam berbagai upacara adat dan kegiatan kebudayaan, nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam tradisi megalitik Pasemah masih diterapkan, mencerminkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya menjaga warisan budaya. Pengaruh tersebut juga terlihat dalam inovasi kesenian lokal yang menggabungkan elemen tradisional dengan ekspresi modern, sehingga menciptakan identitas kebudayaan yang unik di Sumatera Selatan. Dengan demikian, tradisi megalitik Pasemah berperan penting dalam melestarikan warisan leluhur sekaligus memperkaya kebudayaan kontemporer. Abstract: The Pasemah megalithic tradition is one of the prehistoric cultural heritages that has a great impact on the development of contemporary culture in South Sumatra. This study aims to analyze how elements of the megalithic tradition, such as statues, menhirs, dolmens, and other large stone structures, still have relevance and influence in the cultural life of modern society. Using descriptive qualitative methods, this study finds that megalithic symbols not only serve as historical artifacts, but also as inspiration in various aspects of contemporary culture, including art, architecture, and traditional rituals. In addition, this megalithic tradition also influences people's perspective on the relationship with ancestors, natural balance, and social harmony. In various traditional ceremonies and cultural activities, the values contained in the Pasemah megalithic tradition are still applied, reflecting the community's awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage. This influence is also seen in local art innovations that combine traditional elements with modern expressions, thus creating a unique cultural identity in South Sumatra. Thus, the Pasemah megalithic tradition plays an important role in preserving the heritage of ancestors while enriching contemporary culture. Abstract

ABSTRACT This article aims to explore the use of the Tanjung Enim Coal Museum as an educational tourism and a source of learning about local history. The focus of the research is how this museum can be optimally utilized in education and preservation of the history of the local community. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data analysis involving observation, interviews, and literature studies related to collections and the role of museums in society. The results of the study show that the Tanjung Enim Coal Museum has great potential in improving the understanding of local history, enriching the learning experience of students, and promoting awareness of the importance of cultural preservation. The conclusion of this study is that the use of museums as educational vehicles can strengthen community ties with local history, support contextual-based education, and increase the attractiveness of sustainable educational touris. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the application of the Project Based Learning (PBL) learning model on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 3 Central Maluku. The method used was quantitative with a pseudo-experimental design, involving two groups of students: an experimental group that applied PBL and a control group that used conventional methods. Data was collected through pre-test and post-test tests to measure changes in student learning outcomes. The results of the analysis showed that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in learning outcomes compared to the control group. The implementation of PBL not only improves students' academic understanding, but also critical, collaborative, and communicative thinking skills. This study recommends the use of PBL as an effective learning method to improve student learning outcomes in the future.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the blended learning model in history education in the digital era, focusing on high schools in Ambon City, Maluku. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects consist of a history teacher as the main informant, as well as several eleventh-grade students selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The stages of analysis begin with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that the implementation of blended learning is carried out through a combination of using simple digital platforms such as Google Classroom and WhatsApp for material delivery, along with face-to-face sessions for discussion, clarification, and assessment. Teachers apply learning strategies such as flipped classroom, group discussions, and the utilization of history videos. Students' responses to this model are generally positive as it provides flexibility and increases motivation to learn, although there are technical obstacles such as limited internet access and digital devices. The main challenges in the local context of Ambon include limited infrastructure, uneven digital literacy, and varying levels of learning environment support. This research concludes that blended learning can be an effective solution in enhancing the quality of history education in the digital era, noting the need for policy support and strengthening educational infrastructure in the region.

Abstract

Abstrak: Artikel ini membahas Tradisi Pukul Sapu Lidi di Negeri Morella, Maluku, sebagai daya tarik wisata budaya. Tradisi ini, yang awalnya adalah permainan anak-anak, kini menjadi ritual tahunan untuk memperingati Perang Kapahaha dan mencerminkan identitas budaya masyarakat Morella. Penelitian menggunakan metode etnografi kualitatif deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan tradisi ini dan potensi wisatanya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi ini memiliki nilai sejarah dan budaya yang tinggi, terlihat dari rangkaian acara yang meliputi prosesi pengambilan obor dan lidi, festival budaya, dan atraksi pukul sapu itu sendiri. Pukul Sapu Lidi bukan hanya atraksi unik, tetapi juga sarana edukasi budaya dan ekonomi bagi masyarakat lokal, meningkatkan kesadaran budaya, dan mendorong pelestarian warisan budaya. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa dengan pengelolaan yang tepat, tradisi ini berpotensi besar menjadi destinasi wisata budaya yang berkelanjutan di Maluku. Abstrak: This article discusses the Pukul Sapu Lidi Tradition in Morella Village, Maluku, as a cultural tourism attraction. Originally a children's game, this tradition has evolved into an annual ritual commemorating the Kapahaha War and reflecting the cultural identity of the Morella community. The study employs a descriptive qualitative ethnographic method to describe the tradition and its tourism potential. The findings reveal that the tradition holds significant historical and cultural value, evident in its sequence of events, including the torch and lidi (broomstick) collection procession, cultural festival, and the Pukul Sapu attraction itself. Pukul Sapu Lidi is not only a unique attraction but also serves as a medium for cultural education and economic benefits for the local community, enhancing cultural awareness and promoting the preservation of cultural heritage. The article concludes that with proper management, this tradition has great potential to become a sustainable cultural tourism destination in Maluku.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tulisan ini berjuan untuk mendeskripsikan latar belakang terbentuknya Desa Bone Tondo Kecamatan Bone Kabupaten Muna, proses terbentuknya Desa Bone Tondo Kecamatan Bone Kabupaten Muna dan perkembangan Desa Bone Tondo Kecamatan Bone Kabupaten Muna dari Tahun 1997-2017. Metode penelitian yang di gunakan adalah penelitian sejarah yang bersifat deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan strukturis dengan tiga sumber data penelitian yaitu sumber tertulis, sumber lisan dan visual serta menggungakan prosedur penelitian Helius Sjamsuddin yang terdiri dari pengumpulan sumber dan kritik sumber. Hasilnya, Terbentuknya Desa Bone Tondo memiliki latar belakang sejarah yakni sebagai mana dengan terbentuknya desa-desa yang ada diseluruh wilayah Sulawesi tenggara yang tidak terlepas dari usaha dan kerja keras para tokoh masyarakat serta dukungan aparat pemerintah setempat dalam membangun wilayah tersebut berupa pengembangan wilayah, administrasi pemerintah, ekonomi, sosial, dan budaya yang teratur. Hingga kini, Desa Bone Tondo merupakan desa yang cukup maju dalam beberapa bidang yang didukung dengan hasil pertanian dan perkebunan, peternakan serta wirausaha masyarakat, dan menjadi akses jalur ekonomi. Desa Bone Tondo awalnya merupakan daerah perkampungan yang didiami oleh masyarakat dari desa yang berbeda-beda dengan suku yang beragam. Masyarakat yang melakukan aktivitas perkebunan di daerah tersebut awalnya adalah masyarakat yang berasal dari Lolibu dan Mone yang sering dikenal dengan suku terasing. Setelah itu masyarakat dari Kampung Kabone-bone dan Tondo yang pada saat itu masuk wilayah Kecamatan Tongkuno mulai berdatangan memasuki wilayah perkebunan tersebut. Abstract

The transformation of education in the digital age demands fundamental changes to the role of history teachers to align with the Society 5.0 paradigm, which positions technology as a means of enhancing the quality of learning. This study aims to analyse the transformation of the history teacher’s role, the challenges faced, and adaptation strategies in 21st-century learning. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through case studies. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, whilst data analysis utilises an interactive analysis model comprising data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate that history teachers no longer act merely as conveyors of subject matter, but have evolved into learning facilitators, curators of digital historical sources, innovators of learning media, and mentors in digital literacy and character development for students. The use of technologies such as Learning Management Systems, interactive multimedia, digital archives, virtual tours of historical sites, and artificial intelligence is capable of increasing student participation and strengthening a more critical and contextual understanding of history. However, this transformation still faces obstacles in the form of limited digital competence among teachers, infrastructure gaps, and a lack of continuous training. The limitation of this study lies in the research focus, which is still limited to a certain context and uses a qualitative approach. Future research is recommended to expand the scope of the study and combine a quantitative approach in order to obtain more comprehensive results

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Blooket learning media on the learning outcomes of 10th-grade students in the Hindu-Buddhist History subject at SMAN 4 Ambon. The study used a quantitative approach with a true experimental design method through a pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of two classes, namely a control class using the lecture method and an experimental class using Blooket media, each with 30 students. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test given before and after the treatment. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the average value and N-Gain. The results showed that the increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class was higher than in the control class. The N-Gain value of the control class was in the medium category (0.53), while the experimental class reached the high category (0.70). These findings indicate that the use of Blooket media is more effective in improving student learning outcomes. Thus, digital game-based learning media can be an effective alternative to improve student learning outcomes in history learning.
