Abstract

Abstract

Writing skill is one of the difficult skills to acquire in learning a second language. Therefore, the feedback that the students receive from the teachers should be understandable and improve students’ writing skills. This study examines the teachers’ experiences in giving feedback on students’ writing performance through a sociocultural perspective. The participants of this study were 8 English teachers of junior and senior high schools in Padangsidimpuan, North Sumatra. The data were collected through online interviews and analyzed in a thematic approach by transcribing, coding, categorizing, and interpreting. The result shows that teachers prefer to use teacher-student conferencing in giving writing feedback since joint participation and transaction occur in the learning process. It is compatible with the principle of the sociocultural approach. In addition, teachers are more concerned about students’ grammatical errors rather than structure and content. It is due to students finding it difficult to implement the grammatical rules into their writings. Furthermore, unfocused corrective feedback points out a range of error types. However, the strategy is hard to implement for students with lower proficiency levels.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of labor massage on pain and quality of life of pregnant women. This study uses a quantitative design with a simple linear regression approach involving 100 maternity mothers as a sample. The results of the analysis showed that the variable of labor massage had a positive and significant influence on the pain of maternal quality of life, with a regression coefficient of 0.181 and a regression equation of Y = 17.473 + 0.181X. The results of hypothesis testing showed that the t-count value (2.065) was greater than the t-table (1.660) and the significance value of 0.042 was less than 0.05, which means that childbirth massage had a significant effect on the quality of life of pregnant women. The Gate Control Pain theory is used to explain that labor massage can activate the body's natural pain control mechanisms. These findings support the use of massage as one of the effective non-pharmacological methods to reduce pain and improve the mother's quality of life during childbirth. Based on these results, it is suggested that childbirth massage can be applied routinely as part of maternity care in health facilities.

Abstract

Abstract: The Implementation of Problem Based Learning Model to Increase Student Learning Outcomes of Chemistry Subject in Tenth Grade of SMKN 2 Palembang. This Research aimed to determine the implementation of Problem Based Learning model to improve the student learning outcomes using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. Research was done by two cycle and every cycle conducted two meetings with including planning stage, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research is conducted in SMKN 2 Palembang which the subject of research si students in X classs. The Populations is class X TKR 2, the subjects were 34 students. The instrument used observation sheet and the learning outcomes test. The result showed that of students learning outcomes is increased with the students average value of evaluation test for first cycle si 74 with the clasical percentage value is 70.59% and students average value of evaluation test for second cycle is 80 and the classical percentage value is 80. Depend on the result of the research showed that the implementation of Problem Based Learning model showed there is significant differences by using PBL. So, we can obtained that the teaching chemistry by using PBL is quite effective. Keywords: problem based learning, learning model, learning outcomes

Abstract

Forests will become extinct if they are not managed wisely and sustainably. One of the forestry problems that occur in Indonesia is deforestation or logging activities in forest areas. Waqf Forest is a waqf-based forest conservation innovation that can be a supporting instrument for forest conservation. The problem that is the main focus in the development of waqf forests is how to overcome disaster mitigation in the waqf forest area in terms of reforesting deforested areas, areas prone to landslides and providing access to economic empowerment to the community and problems related to the number of permanent employees in the Bogor Waqf Forest This study aims to describe the Bogor Waqf Forest program, identify key sub-elements of the waqf forest development strategy and analyze the Bogor Waqf Forest development strategy using the Interpretive Structural Model (ISM) approach. The results of the analysis show that the elements of needs and objectives have almost the same key sub-elements, which are related to the legal protection for waqf forests and the main obstacle is the problem of nazhir's professionalism which is the responsibility of the principal actors or institutions mentioned. The achievement of the elements of needs, constraints, and objectives can be fulfilled by the actors or institutions involved through the activities of the key sub-elements, namely the coordination of BWI, WaCIDS, the Ministry of Religion, BAZNAS, Bogor Waqf Forest Foundation, and Regional Governments and related institutions to encourage waqf forest projects.
