Abstract

The addition of glucose to the hatching medium is thought to enhance the embryonic development of climbing perch by providing additional energy, strengthening metabolic stability. This research aims to analyze the impact of glucose addition on the embryonic development of climbing perch in developing efficient, sustainable, and conservation-oriented hatchery technology. The study was conducted in the Ulin River, North Banjar Baru District, with broodstock climbing perch from BBII Karang Intan, aged less than 1.5 years and weighing at least 100 g for females and 50 g for males. Fertilized eggs were then incubated in aquadest incubation media using 20 petri dishes, and the media was given glucose solution according to the treatment, namely 0.2 g/100 mL (A), 0.4 g/100 mL (B), 0.6 g/100 mL (C), and without the addition of glucose as a control (D). The addition of glucose solution to the hatching medium has a positive effect on embryo development. Glucose helps increase the metabolic activity of the embryo, accelerates development, and produces optimal hatching power (100%).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the exhaust emissions of 100 CC motorcycle engines with variations of Nickel Alloy and Iridium spark plugs. As well as the use of BBA and BBK fuels at idle engine speed. This research method is experimental by testing carbon monoxide (CO), Hydrocarbons (HC), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Oxygen (O2) using the Hesbon Analyzer HG-520 tool. The results of testing the use of Nickel Alloy spark plugs with BBA obtained a result of (CO) 3.13%, testing (HC) obtained 1580%, and (O2) obtained a value of 20.76%, while testing using Iridium spark plugs with BBA obtained a result of CO 1.01%, HC obtained 764 ppm, CO2 obtained 0% and O2 obtained 21.16%. The conclusion is that exhaust emissions in the Nickel Alloy and Iridium spark plug variation testing using alternative fuels, get better results (CO) and (HC) on Iridium spark plugs while O2 is better on Nickel Alloy spark plugs. In the BBK test, the results of CO and HC are the same, while O2 is better on Iridium spark plugs.

Abstract

Tilapia farming continues to grow and requires seeds that are very large in number and superior in quality. This community service activity is the application of tilapia hatchery technology with a recirculation system in tarpaulin ponds, which is a modern technology, capital-intensive, but highly productive. The strategic intermediate target audience is the members of the Badan Pengembangan Usaha Pasantren (BPUP) Nurul Muhibbin, Halong, Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan. The method of delivering technology dissemination is a theoretical explanation with lecture and FGD methods, then demonstration and mentoring. The results of the activity from the parameters of egg hatchability with recirculation 57,6 percent and survival 49,3 percent higher than without recirculation, and the production of tilapia seed size 1 - 3 cm, 156,000 fish during 4 months of activity, and these results show high productivity. The profit obtained for 4 months was Rp 15,400,000.00 B/C ratio = 1.89 and RPI = 3.13, which means it is very feasible to be cultivated. Furthermore, the results of the mean equality test of the pre-test and post-test target audiences showed a significant increase 96 percent in knowledge and skills, compared to before the activity, only 67 percent.

Abstract

Aquascape is the art of designing underwater gardens. The main elements of aquascape is the presence of plants, stones, wood and ornamental fish as ornaments in containers such as aquariums. Usually, aquascape use ornaments from nature as an aesthetic ecosystem in the aquarium, but their existence requires a relatively expensive cost. The purpose is to provide education and training in making aquascape using ornaments from plastic waste either from drink bottles, refillable packaging or plastic bags to the community and Proklim (Program Kampung Iklim) RW02 cadres of Sungai Miai Village, North Banjarmasin. The activity methods was delivered by of counseling, demonstration, training and mentoring. The results showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of the partner group from a score of 1.49 to 18.1 or an increase of 1170% and an increase the skills from a score of 7 to 16.64 or an increase of 137.76%. The supporting factor is that the partner group already has the skills to process plastic waste into various decorations, so that it can be used as an aquascape ornaments. The inhibiting factor is that the PDAM water used for the aquascape must be precipitated.

Abstract

The community of RW 02 Sungai Miai Village, North Banjarmasin, is an active community in implementing various programs to anticipate climate change, as evidenced by the success of achieving the Climate Village category “Lestari”. The surrounding community has used vacant land to plant various kinds of vegetables and cultivate fish for consumption in round ponds. The harvest returns to the community, one of which is to provide additional nutrition for toddlers during Posyandu activities held every month. Along with the development of development, land for fish cultivation or gardening is increasingly limited, while the need for vegetable and animal proteins continues to grow. This is the reason aquaponics was chosen because this method was developed to maximize limited land use, to produce fish and plant products at once, especially in urban areas or densely populated settlements such as in RW02 Sungai Miai Village. The purpose of this activity is to provide education and training about budikdamber and aquaponic system vegetables by utilizing limited land for the fulfillment of family nutrition. The dissemination of activities was delivered by methods of theoretical explanation, demonstration, training and intensive assistance during the activity.  The results obtained showed that the partner group was very enthusiastic in receiving the knowledge and skills conveyed, there was an increase in knowledge from a score of 1.59 to 4.35 compared to before the counseling or an increase of 173.58% and an increase in skills from a score of 1.36 to 3.35 or an increase of 146.32%. These results indicate that counseling and training materials have been delivered effectively and successfully absorbed by the community. Overall, the training was very successful in improving participants' practical skills in implementing and managing aquaculture and aquaponics systems.

Abstract

Ansyari F, Slamat S. 2020. Comparison of the performance of climbing perch (Anabas testudineus Bloch) filial 2 fry and natural fry treated in acidic swamp waters, Jejangkit Village, South Kalimantan. Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands 9(1): 23-30.The aim of the study was to compare the performance (survival rate, growth and feed conversion) of climbing perch fish fry Filial 2 (F2) which has superior characteristics with natural fry that are culture in sour swamp waters. The study was carried out in swamp waters, Jejangkit Village, Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan for 6 months (January to June 2019). This study compared fish performances generated from F2 fry of nature. Fishes were cultured in net (4 m x 2 m x 1 m) with the same stocking density of 100 fishes/m2 . The results showed that the survival rate of natural fry was 86.6% higher than that of F2 75.3%, but the relative growth of natural fry was 2,325% lower than  F2 3,060% and feed conversion natural fry was 3.03 less efficient than F2 fry 2.62. It was concluded that the performance of F2 fry was better than natural fry, when maintained in acidic swamp waters.
