Abstract

This journal discusses the development of questioning skills in early childhood as an effort to encourage curiosity and critical thinking skills. Questioning skills are considered important in the learning process, because they can increase children's involvement and help them understand information in more depth. This research uses a quantitative approach with the early childhood population in educational institutions, and collects data through questionnaires and direct observation. The results of the research show that there is a positive influence between children's questioning skills and curiosity and critical thinking abilities. Children who are used to asking questions tend to be more active in exploration and discussion, which strengthens their understanding. The journal also identifies various strategies for developing questioning skills, such as creating a supportive environment, using open-ended questions, and encouraging group discussions. Even though there are challenges, such as limited time and children feeling uncomfortable asking questions, it is important for educators and parents to create a safe space for children to actively participate. Developing questioning skills is expected to be a crucial first step in preparing children to face future challenges, as well as increasing their creativity and critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Islamic values sourced from children's stories in the Qur'an in learning and habituation activities at Yahdina Panyabungan Kindergarten. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that teachers used the story of Prophet Yusuf, Prophet Ismail, and the story of Luqman to convey the values of honesty, patience, and obedience to parents. These values are internalised through the storytelling method, daily habituation such as praying together, memorising hadith, and sharing activities. The main obstacle in this implementation is the lack of focus of some children during the activities. This research shows the importance of the narrative approach and habituation in instilling Islamic values from an early age.

Abstract

The Community Service (KKN) program group 38 in Purba Lamo Village, Lembah Sorik Marapi Subdistrict, aims to enhance the community's economy through product diversification based on local potential, specifically bananas. Although the village produces an abundance of bananas, its processing has been limited to selling them in raw form or simple processed products, resulting in low added value. The KKN program initiated training on processing bananas into chips with various flavors, introducing modern packaging techniques and adaptive marketing strategies. The approach used was participatory, including socialization, direct practice, and continuous mentoring in production and distribution. The results showed an improvement in the residents' skills in product processing, the emergence of new entrepreneurial motivation, and collective initiatives to expand marketing networks at local and regional levels. The long-term impact of this activity is an increased awareness among the community about the importance of managing local potential innovatively, which supports collective welfare. This KKN program not only provides short-term benefits, such as increased income, but also contributes to strengthening the village's economic independence sustainably.
