Abstract

Central Aceh Regency is the province's largest pineapple producer. However, pineapple farming is facing the problem of low pineapple productivity and input use efficiency. The research aims to analyze the factors that influence the level of technical efficiency and the allocative and economic efficiency of pineapple farming in Pegasing District, Central Aceh Regency. The sampling process employs the stratified random sampling method. The total sample consisted of 62 respondents. The stochastic frontier is used. The research revealed that the production factor of land area, with a variable coefficient value of 0.0312, seeds with a variable coefficient value of seeds of 1.0152, and pesticides with a coefficient value of 5.6239, significantly influenced pineapple farming production in Pegasing District. Conversely, the labor factor, with a coefficient value of 0.0408, and fertilizer, with a coefficient value of 0.1198, had an insignificant effect. The use of inputs in pineapple farming has reached technical efficiency values, but there are still opportunities to increase optimally. However, neither allocatively nor economically have we achieved efficiency. The technical efficiency value for pineapple farmers was 0.80, the allocative efficiency value reached 0.427, and the economic efficiency was 0.351. Farmers, as actors in farming activities, need to pay attention to the use of the right combination of inputs; economic efficiency will be obtained from the use of production factors so that pineapple farmers' income will increase.

Abstract

ABSTRACTRice is one of the staple food crops that needs to be improved in production management with the aim of increasing technical efficiency. Improved technical efficiency can be done by utilizing the factors of rice production optimally. Pematang Bandar Sub-district in 2016 became a rice barn in Simalungun Regency, but in the last few years rice productivity has fluctuated. Pematang Bandar sub-district has 8,114.3 Haharvested area with 6.1 Tons/Ha productivity. The low productivity of rice is closely related to the inefficient use of production inputs. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the factors that affect rice production and the level of technical efficiency of rice plants (Oriza sativa L.) in the Pematang Bandar District, Simalungun Regency. In analyzing the efficiency of production factors, the Cobb-Douglas production function is used as the stochastic frontier function. The results of this study indicate that the factors that significantly affect the production of lowland rice in Pematang Bandar District, Simalungun Regency are land area and seeds. While the variables of labor, fertilizers and pesticides have no significant effect on the production of lowland rice. The level of technical efficiency in rice farming is 83%, which means that the use of production factors in lowland rice farming is technically efficient, but farmers still have 17% chance to further improve the efficiency.ABSTRACTPadi merupakan salah satu tanaman pangan pokok yang perlu ditingkatkan pengelolaan produksi dengan tujuan peningkatkan efisiensi teknis.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the behavior of the cocoa market in Pidie Jaya Regency, using a qualitative descriptive approach and a quantitative descriptive approach. Determination of the sample of farmers using simple random sampling method, while the determination of the sample of traders using the technique of snowball sampling. The results showed that there was a tendency for farmers to sell cocoa to village collectors compared to sub-district traders because of limited transportation facilities at the location of the land. There is collusion and strategies by farmers and traders in cocoa marketing. There is a tendency for traders to determine cocoa price standards among traders and set a minimum price for farmers, so that farmers are disadvantaged. This condition shows the existence of information asymmetry related to low selling prices for farmers and is detrimental to farmers

Abstract

Indonesia's fisheries and marine resources have a very important role, but abundant marine resources are not matched by the better life of coastal communities. Limited access and loss of living assets are serious problems faced by poor people in coastal areas, thus affecting their livelihoods. This research was conducted in Masa District, Bireuen Regency from July to November 2022. Purposive determination of the location of the study considering that the sub-district is one of the areas with the highest number of fishing households in Bireuen Regency. The population of capture fishermen was 9,432 people, and the number of samples obtained was 120 fishermen. The sampling method uses accidental sampling techniques. The data in this study will be analyzed with the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) Model. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that affect the level of sustainability of fishermen's lives in Masa District, Bireuen Regency, and analyze the relationship between vulnerability, life assets, strategies and the sustainability of fishermen's lives. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the factors that affect the sustainability of fishermen's lives are life strategies and ownership of living assets. The fourth relationship is that increased vulnerability positively affects fishermen's living assets, increasing the availability of living assets positively affects fishermen's life strategies. Increasing ownership of living assets positively affects the sustainability of fishermen's lives and increasing life strategies positively affects the sustainability of fishermen's lives.
