Abstract

This study examines the interplay between digital competencies, AI usage, and digital informal learning in enhancing functional skills among Islamic secondary school teachers in Southern Pakistan, a context underexplored in existing literature. Despite the global emphasis on technology-driven education, little is known about how these factors collectively influence teacher development in resource-constrained, culturally specific settings like Islamic schools in Muzaffargarh. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected via Google Forms from 450 teachers and analyzed with SPSS (v22) to address two research questions: (1) the impact of digital competencies on functional skills acquisition, moderated by AI tools, and (2) the role of AI-based informal learning in teaching effectiveness and skill development. Results revealed that while digital competencies alone did not significantly improve functional skills (p=0.067), AI tools demonstrated a strong moderating effect (p=0.000), enhancing teachers' ability to leverage digital resources. Additionally, AI-powered informal learning platforms positively influenced teaching adaptability and skill progression. The study contributes to theory by highlighting AI's pivotal role as a bridge between digital literacy and functional skills in non-Western educational contexts. Practically, it underscores the need for targeted teacher training programs integrating AI tools and digital informal learning alongside infrastructure investments. These findings offer policymakers and educators a framework to design contextually relevant professional development initiatives, addressing gaps in Pakistan's Islamic education system while informing similar global contexts undergoing digital transition.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of business model innovation on enhancing company competitiveness in the context of the digital era. As companies increasingly face challenges from rapid technological advancements and evolving consumer preferences, the need for strategic innovation becomes paramount. Business model innovation defined as the process of redesigning a company's core logic for creating and capturing value has been recognized as a key lever for maintaining relevance and achieving competitive advantage. Employing a descriptive quantitative research design, this study collected primary data through structured questionnaires administered to 90 respondents who are customers of the SRC Fitri store. Simple linear regression analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between business model innovation (independent variable) and company competitiveness (dependent variable). The analysis revealed that business model innovation has a statistically significant impact on competitiveness, accounting for 51.4% of the observed variance. The remaining 48.6% is attributed to other external factors not examined within this study. These findings underscore the strategic importance of business model innovation as a central factor in navigating digital disruption and market volatility. Companies that are able to rapidly innovate their business models in response to technological change and shifting customer demands are more likely to sustain long-term competitive advantage. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on strategic innovation and offers practical insights for business leaders seeking to strengthen their firm's adaptive capacity and competitiveness in the digital age.

Abstract

The study looks at how men and women in Southern Pakistan teaching Islamic subjects use AI tools and what impact this has on their digital competencies. Now that AI is used in schools, knowing how gender affects people’s ability to use these tools is necessary for ensuring that digital transformation in religious education is inclusive. There are three main objectives that drove the study. There are three main objectives: to study how AI is influenced by gender among Islamic teachers; to evaluate whether men or women are more skilled in digital use in Islamic education; and to find out whether digital talent rises as a result of using AI in teaching contexts. A survey device, used in conjunction with a quantitative research method, was deployed to collect information from 150 male and 150 female Islamic teachers. Gender differences were studied using descriptive statistics and independent sample t-tests, while multiple regression was carried out to determine if AI use played a role in increasing digital skills. The survey results indicated that males use AI more than females and that the reverse is true for digital tasks. In addition, using AI tools was shown to strongly influence digital competency development in both populations, indicating that this usage can help with greater improvements in digital skills. These results suggest ways in which policymakers, curriculum designers, and educational leaders can enhance digital literacy in religious education, especially among people from disadvantaged areas.

Abstract

In response to the evolving demands of 21st-century education, the cultivation of digital competencies among teachers is critical to enhancing instructional quality and student learning outcomes. Despite growing recognition of the importance of digital literacy and ICT self-efficacy, empirical investigations into their impact on functional skills, such as communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving, remain limited, particularly within rural Islamic secondary schools in Pakistan. This study explores the extent to which digital literacy and ICT self-efficacy predict the development of functional skills among teachers in Kot Addu South, Pakistan. Employing a quantitative survey design, data were collected from 440 Islamic secondary school teachers using a structured questionnaire. Reliability and validity were ensured through expert review and pilot testing, and data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and t-test regression via SPSS. Findings reveal moderate digital tool utilization among participants, yet those with higher levels of digital literacy and ICT self-efficacy demonstrated significantly greater proficiency in functional skills. Positive and statistically significant correlations were observed between digital literacy and all three domains of functional skills. Although gender-based variations were minimal, both male and female teachers benefitted from enhanced digital capabilities. These results emphasize the strategic importance of fostering digital literacy and ICT self-efficacy through targeted training programs. The study provides valuable insights for educational policymakers, school leaders, and professional development designers to elevate teacher effectiveness and bridge digital inequities in under-resourced educational environments.

Abstract

At the time, when the world is going through the period of accelerated technological development, the instructional effectiveness of teachers is very important to satisfy the requirements of the modern education, especially in the context of the linguistic and culturally diverse environment. Digital informal learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have become the disruptive tools to help teachers enhance their teaching activities, in particular, in the under-resourced schools. Although interest in the AI-based education is increasing, few studies have examined the combination of AI tools and digital informal learning to enhance the overall effectiveness of instruction among teachers in the Islamic secondary schools of Southern Pakistan. This quantitative research question is how AI tools can enhance English language proficiency, how digital informal learning can enhance cultural awareness, and how the two can enhance the instructional effectiveness of teachers. The survey of 450 Islamic secondary school teachers was conducted with the use of a purposive sample and the survey was carried out with the help of a structured questionnaire using SPSS (2021) with descriptive statistics and independent sample t -tests. The results indicate that AI solutions can significantly improve English language proficiency that is important in effective teaching, whereas digital informal learning helps to develop cultural awareness, allowing educators to work with different learners. These tools are combined, and they have a positive influence on the effectiveness of instruction, increasing the quality of lesson delivery, student behaviour, and classroom management. The research provides the education policy recommendation to incorporate AI and digital tools in teacher training programs, which provides an insight to policymakers and education leaders and developers of EdTech to empower teachers in linguistically and culturally diverse areas.
