Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of business model innovation on enhancing company competitiveness in the context of the digital era. As companies increasingly face challenges from rapid technological advancements and evolving consumer preferences, the need for strategic innovation becomes paramount. Business model innovation defined as the process of redesigning a company's core logic for creating and capturing value has been recognized as a key lever for maintaining relevance and achieving competitive advantage. Employing a descriptive quantitative research design, this study collected primary data through structured questionnaires administered to 90 respondents who are customers of the SRC Fitri store. Simple linear regression analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between business model innovation (independent variable) and company competitiveness (dependent variable). The analysis revealed that business model innovation has a statistically significant impact on competitiveness, accounting for 51.4% of the observed variance. The remaining 48.6% is attributed to other external factors not examined within this study. These findings underscore the strategic importance of business model innovation as a central factor in navigating digital disruption and market volatility. Companies that are able to rapidly innovate their business models in response to technological change and shifting customer demands are more likely to sustain long-term competitive advantage. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on strategic innovation and offers practical insights for business leaders seeking to strengthen their firm's adaptive capacity and competitiveness in the digital age.

This research employs a survey method involving 48 respondents who are children from Buddha Dharma Jaya Sunday School at Jina Marga Dipa Vihara in 2024. The results of the data analysis indicate that the learning motivation variable is categorized as high. Through simple linear regression analysis, it was found that technology-based learning has a positive effect on the learning motivation of Sunday school children. These findings suggest that the integration of technology in the learning process can enhance student engagement and motivation, which in turn can contribute to better learning outcomes. This study provides important insights for educators and monastery administrators in designing more effective and engaging learning strategies for children.

Abstract

The growing interest in mindfulness-based education highlights the need for approaches that integrate cultural and spiritual traditions to support students’ holistic development. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a Buddhist meditation retreat combined with mindful living education in enhancing mindfulness and compassion among students in Palembang City, Indonesia. Using a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control groups, the research selected 120 students from a population of 170 through the Slovin formula. Participants were divided into experimental and control groups across junior and senior high schools. The experimental group attended a structured retreat that combined traditional Buddhist practices, such as mindful breathing, insight meditation, and loving-kindness meditation, with mindful living activities inspired by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings, including cultivating awareness in daily routines, deep listening, and compassionate communication. Data were collected using researcher-developed questionnaires. Results showed that the experimental group experienced significant improvements in mindfulness and compassion, whereas the control group displayed minimal changes. Baseline equivalence was established, and post-test comparisons consistently favored the experimental group. These findings suggest that culturally grounded mindfulness programs can foster emotional awareness and prosocial behavior in youth. Practically, the study encourages educational institutions to adopt mindfulness interventions and recommends further research with broader populations, validated instruments, and long-term evaluation.
