Abstract

This community service program was conducted in Lam U Village, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar Regency, to empower local farmers through the cultivation of oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus). The program focused on introducing oyster mushroom cultivation as an alternative agricultural activity to support the local economy. Training on the proper techniques for cultivation, including the preparation of substrates, inoculation, and maintenance of optimal growth conditions, was provided to the participants. The program also emphasized the benefits of oyster mushroom cultivation as a sustainable and profitable agricultural practice. The training sessions were interactive, with hands-on demonstrations to ensure effective knowledge transfer.   As a result, participants gained valuable skills that can be applied in their farming practices, contributing to enhanced local economic development.

Abstract

Mangroves are tropical trees that thrive in intolerable conditions of mostly salty wood, coastal waters, and endless tides. Thanks to their ability to store large amounts of carbon, mangroves are a key weapon in the fight against climate change but are under threat around the world. By protecting mangroves, we can help protect the future of our planet. Referring to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the area of mangrove ecosystems in Aceh reaches 3.63 million hectares or 20.37% of the world's total area.  With this significant area, Indonesia has a great responsibility in preserving the global mangrove ecosystem.  Therefore, World Mangrove Day is an important moment to reflect on the efforts that have been made and take concrete actions in maintaining and preserving mangrove forests which are an important part of Indonesia's natural wealth. Mangroves play a crucial role in coastal ecosystems, serving as natural fortresses that protect beaches from erosion and storms, absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and provide habitat for a variety of marine and bird species. Given the severe environmental damage that occurred in Lampageu village due to the tsunami disaster, the tsunami survivors wanted to reforest the mangroves so that they returned to their original state.  This is because mangrove ecosystems have so many functions and benefits for the lives of local villagers.

Abstract

Irrigation is a crucial component in agricultural systems, significantly contributing to crop productivity. In Gampong Lubok Batee, Ingin Jaya Subdistrict, Aceh Besar, irrigation water sources include surface water such as rivers, lakes, and reservoirs, as well as groundwater classified into unconfined, confined, and perched aquifers. The selection of irrigation water sources considers factors such as water availability, ease of access, proximity to agricultural land, and, most importantly, water quality. Ideal irrigation water must meet specific quality standards, including a neutral to slightly alkaline pH range (5.0-9.0), be odorless, and free from toxic substances. The quality of irrigation water has a direct impact on the physical and chemical properties of the soil, as well as on plant growth. Therefore, water quality assessment is conducted using methods such as the Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR), the US Salinity Laboratory method, and the Scofield method. Sustainable and wise management of water resources is essential to support productive and environmentally friendly agriculture.

Abstract

Ecoenzymes are products produced from the hardening process of fruitpeels and molasses (brown sugar) for 3 months in the form of liquid liquid.Ecoenzymes have many benefits, ranging from cleaning fluids, insecticides, natural fertilizers to health. In this study we used 7 fruit skins, namely orange, pineapple, kates, melon, watermelon, apple and pear peels. The researchmethod analyzes the water content and pH value. Through this research, it was found that the ecoenzymes from the 7 fruit peels had very good ecoenzyme criteria to be used for a mixture of disinfectants and skin irritation resulting in a pH of 4.0, a water content of 83% and an organoleptic color and aroma of 4.25 (very like it).

Abstract

Orchidaceae is a flower that is favored by most women, in order to develop Aceh for the future, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam programmed orchid plants as one of the main commodities of ornamental plants, because orchids have beauty in their flowers and have various forms that have their own charm.  Orchid seeds in Banda Aceh are generally obtained from cuttings, but for people who have commercialized orchid businesses, seeds are obtained by buying tissue culture results because the seeds are more guaranteed. In this activity, orchid propagation is carried out vegetatively, namely with saplings (keiki). Keiki propagation of Dendrobium orchids is very simple and inexpensive and quickly adapts to the new environment.  The practical use of planting media and husk charcoal for the propagation of Dendrobium orchids has proven results that can be seen from the emergence of seedlings left on the media.

Based on phytochemical tests, Moringa leaves (Moriga oleifera Lam.) contain tannins, steroids and triterpenoids, flavonoids, saponins, inter-quinones, and alkaloids, all of which are antioxidants. This service is carried out in several stages, the first stage is the preparatory stage with activities to coordinate with the head of SMA Negeri 1 Kuta Baro Aceh Besar Regency regarding the cooperation agreement and place of implementation, preparation of workshop materials and preparing time and activities for implementing the workshop on the theme Processing Technology of Moringa Leaf Flour as a Substitution of Natural Coloring Materials for Food Processing. Community service participation in this case involved 23 teacher participants along with 12 student participants from SMA Negeri 1 Kuta Baro, Aceh Besar Regency as training participants with a total of 35 participants. With this activity, cooperation can be established between SMA Negeri 1 Kuta Baro, Aceh Regency.
