Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structure of persuasion paragraphs in three fiction novels, namely Laskar Pelangi (Bentang Pustaka), Bumi Manusia (Lentera Dipantara), and Laut Bercerita (Kepustakaan Popular, Gramedia). The method used is qualitative descriptive with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research is focused on identifying variations in persuasion structures which include argumentative structure, problem-solving structure, priority order structure, comparative structure, and chronological structure. The results of the study show that each novel has a different pattern of using the persuasive paragraph structure. In Laskar Pelangi, the problem-solving structure dominates with a percentage of 27.02%, reflecting a strong approach to problem solving. Meanwhile, Bumi Manusia stands out with an argumentative structure (24%), which is relevant to the theme of struggle and education. Laut Bercerita prioritizes a chronological structure (30%), in accordance with a linear time narrative in depicting the struggle of the characters. The implications of this research are very relevant in Indonesian learning. Readers can improve their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills through the analysis of persuasive structures in literary texts. In addition, this analysis also encourages an understanding of the themes, moral messages, and writing styles of the writers. This research makes an important contribution to the development of literacy and appreciation of literary works among readers.

Abstract

The common problem that occurs in education is the failure to achieve educational goals. This problem also occurs in Arabic language learning caused by the lack of utilization and lack of improvisation of strategies in the learning process. The existing strategy seems menotonous and results in a lack of student interest in Arabic. For this reason, it is necessary to have a strategy in learning in order to increase the impetus for learning so that it can improve cognitive and intellectual abilities. The aspect of tawhid is the belief in God without associating it. This principle is the main purpose of the teachings brought by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This research aims to find out the methods and strategies in Tawhid-based Arabic language learning. The results of the research conducted show that the need for a special strategy in instilling the value of tawhid through Arabic language learning. This is an effort to provide an understanding that everything in this world is related to Allah SWT, including in the field of education. And so that students can have good morals and manners in everyday life because they always feel watched by God the creator.

Abstract

Instant noodles are a food that is very popular with various levels of society. This food also has potential as a substitute for rice. Apart from having an economical price, instant noodles are also easy to find, because almost all minimarkets and supermarkets provide various brands of instant noodles, from well-known brands to new brands that continue to emerge. This research is a knowledge study to determine boarding house students' perceptions of instant noodles, both their knowledge and their behavior in consuming instant noodles. This research aims to analyze the views of boarding house students in Tuntungan Village regarding the consumption of instant noodles, by highlighting economic factors, practicality and health awareness. The research results revealed that the majority of students chose instant noodles for financial reasons of affordability and ease of serving, even though they understood the potential negative impact on health. This research concludes that although instant noodles are able to meet students' needs in terms of cost and practicality. The method we use is direct interviews, namely by asking several questions to students at the North Sumatara State Islamic University.

Abstract

Smoking among adolescents, especially junior high school students, is an issue of concern because it risks negative health effects in the long run, as well as hampering their academic and social development. One of the prevention strategies that can be used is through educational activities that are accompanied by the cultivation of academic ethical values. This study aims to provide education about the dangers of smoking through counseling based on academic ethics in order to increase junior high school students' awareness and attitudes towards smoking behavior. This activity was carried out using a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, which aims to explore and deeply understand the behavior and attitudes of SMP Negeri 31 Medan students towards smoking. This method was chosen to provide a rich and contextual understanding of the factors that influence smoking behavior and the effectiveness of prevention education through academic ethics counseling. The results of the counseling showed an increase in students' understanding of the dangers of smoking as well as a more critical attitude towards invitations to smoke from the surrounding environment. Students also showed greater interest in healthy behaviors and ethical values in the school environment. Academic ethics-based education is proven to be effective as a medium of counseling in preventing smoking behavior among junior high school students, because it not only touches the health aspect, but also the ethical values.

Abstract

The development of the digital era has made social media an integral part of life, including in the field of education. Students not only use it to socialize, but also as a means of obtaining information and learning materials. In the context of Arabic language learning, social media such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok in Arabic present educational content that is interesting and easily accessible. This has the potential to improve students' understanding and language skills. Given the importance of motivation in the learning process, it is interesting to study how social media can play a role in encouraging students' enthusiasm in learning Arabic actively and continuously. This study aims to analyze the role of social media in increasing students' motivation in learning Arabic, as well as to identify the types of social media content that are considered most effective in arousing students' enthusiasm for learning. This research utilizes a literature study, by collecting and analyzing written sources, such as scientific journals and articles that discuss social media, learning motivation, and Arabic language learning. From the results of the study, the researcher tries to compile a complete picture of how social media can support the learning process of Arabic among university students. The results of the literature study show that social media plays a significant role in supporting Arabic language learning. Audio-visual content such as conversation videos and infographics can increase students' interest in learning. Two-way interaction on social media also encourages the active use of Arabic in informal contexts. The literature review concludes that social media is an effective alternative means to increase motivation to learn Arabic, by presenting a learning experience that is fun, flexible, and in accordance with the characteristics of the digital generation.
