Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of pragmatics in delivering the meaning of print advertisements in the Harian Rakyat Aceh newspaper. This research used a qualitative approach. The data was analyzed using a pragmatic approach. The data of this research were advertisements published in the Harian Rakyat Aceh newspaper in January 2019. The data were identified, classified, analyzed, described, and summarized. The results showed that all the advertisements used pragmatic power to convey information. The pragmatic power that appears is the presupposition and context of the advertisement. The presupposition arises from the main trademark of a product or product brand that has been popular in society. Context refers to images, letter shapes, colours, and motives of images and letters in advertisements published in the Harian Rakyat Aceh newspaper. Keywords: pragmatics, advertisement, Harian Rakyat Aceh

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penyimpangan kesantunan tindak tutur mahasiswa semester akhir Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia di Banda Aceh. Konsentrasi penelitian ini adalah apa sajakah bentuk penyimpangan kesantunan tindak tutur yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa semester akhir Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia di Kota Banda Aceh dalam interksi sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analitis. Penelitian dilaka dijalankan dengan  tahapan beikut: (1) merancang dan mengerdarkan instrumen informasi awal sember data, (2) megelompokkan informasi sumber untuk menjadi acuan perekaman data, (3) merekam percakapan sumber data tanpa setingan di lingkungan kampus (4) mengubah data rekam menjadi data tulis, (5) melakukan analisis data dan mendeskripsikannya, (6) menghitung persentase penggunaan tiap penyimpangan kesantunan tindak tutur  dan menyimpulkan hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa semester akhir melakukan penyimpangan kesantunan tindak tutur dalam berkomunikasi sehari-hari yang dindai oleh terjadinya penyimpangan terhadap tiga dari lima prinsip/maksim kesantunan tindak tutur, yaitu maksim pujian, maksim kerendahan hati, dan maksim kesepakatan.    Kata kunci: penyimpangan, kesantunan,  tindak tutur, mahasiswa, dan semester akhir   ABSTRACK This study aims to describe the deviation of act politeness in the final semester of Indonesian Language and Literature Education in Banda Aceh. The concentration of this research is the forms of speech act politeness deviance used by the final semester students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education in Banda Aceh City in their daily interactions. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analytical methods. The research is carried out by following steps: (1) designing and deploying the initial data information as hard as data, (2) grouping source information to become a reference for data recording, (3) recording data source conversations without setting on campus (4) changing the recorded data to written data, (5) doing data analysis and describing it, (6) calculating the percentage of use of each deviation in speech act politeness and conclude the results of the study. The results of the study showed that the final semester students deviated from the politeness of speech acts in daily communication based on the occurrence of deviations from three of the five principles of speech act politeness, namely the maxims of praise, maxim of humility, and maxim of agreement. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan jenis kesantunan tindak tutur, strategi kesantunan tindak tutur, dan penyimpangan prinsip kesantunan tindak tutur pada siswa dari berbagai etnik yang bersekolah di SMP Fatih Bilingual School Putra Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian lapangan. Tindakan penelitian dilakukan dalam lima tahapan: (1) membuat dan mengedarkan formulir sederhana untuk mendata status etnik siswa; (2) menganalisis dan mengelompokkan formulir data etnik untuk pemetaan pengambilan data; (3) merekam pembicaraan siswa-siswa yang sedang berkumpul saat jam bebas di fasilitas umum sekolah tanpa setting-an; (4) mentranskripsikan data rekaman dengan teknik catat; (5) menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan data hasil penelitian; dan (6) menghitung persentase kemunculan data tiap masalah penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa multietnik menggunakan lima jenis kesantunan tidak tutur: (1) panjang pendek tuturan; (2) urutan tuturan; (3) intonasi dan isyarat kinesika; (4) penanda kesantunan; dan (5) tanpa kesantunan, menggunakan empat strategi kesantunan tindak tutur: (1) tanpa kesantunan; (2) strategi kesantunan positif; (3) strategi kesantunan negatif, dan (4) strategi kesantunan samar-samar, dan melakukan lima penyimpangan prinsip kesantunan/maksim tindak tutur: (1) maksim kebijaksanaan; (2) maksim kerendahan hati; (3) maksim pujian; (4) maksim kesepakatan; dan (5) maksim simpati. Data yang paling dominan muncul: (1) jenis kesantunan tindak tutur tipe tanpa kesantunan; (2) strategi kesantunan tindak tutur tipe tanpa strategi; dan (3) penyimpangan prinsip kesantunan/maksim tindak tutur tipe maksim pujian. Disimpulkan, siswa multietnik di SMP Fatih Bilingual School Putra Banda Aceh menggunakan tindak tutur sesuai data yang muncul dan persentase dominan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan kesantunan komunikasi siswa berbagai etnik pada Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) Fatih Bilingual School Banda Aceh. Hal yang akan diteliti adalah jenis kesantunan apa sajakah yang digunakan siswa (SMP) Fatih Bilingual School Banda Aceh dalam berkomunikasi sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian lapangan. Penelitian akan dilakkan dalam enam tahapan. (1) merancang dan menditribusiakan instumen pendataan etnik siswa, (2) mengelompokkan hasil pendataan untuk pedoman pengumpuan data, (3) merekam komunikasi siswa saat jam bebas/istirahat di tempat umum seperti kantin dan tempat oleh raga, (4) mengubah data rekam menjadi tulisan, (5) menganalisi data dan mendeskripsikan hasil analisis, (6) menghitung persentase kemunculan setiap jenis tindak tutur yang digunakan oleh siswa. Perolehan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa multietnik dalam berkomunikasi menggunakan lima jenis kesaantunan tindak tutu. (1) panjang pendek tuturan. (2) urutan tuturan, (3) intonasi dan kinesika, (4) penanda kesanatunan, dan tanpa kesantunan. Disimpulkan bahwa siswa multietnik menggunan jenis kesantunan tindak tutur sesuai dengan hasilpenelitian. Abstract This research was conducted with the aim of describing the politeness of communication of various ethnic students at Fatih Bilingual School Junior High School (SMP) Banda Aceh. The research parameter was the kind of politeness used by SMP students in daily communication. This research used qualitative approach. This research was manifold field research. This research carried out in six stages. (1) organizing and distributing the students’ enthnic data instrument, (2) classifying the results for data collection procedure, (3) recording student communication during break time in public place such as canteen and sport hall, (4) transcribing the recorded data into writing, (5) analyzing the data and describing the results of the data analysis, (6) calculating the percentage of occurrence of each type of speech acts used by the students. The results of the research indicate that multiethnic students communicate using five types of speech acts; (1) length of speech, (2) speech sequence, (3) intonation and body language, (4) politeness and impoltiness gesture. Abstract

The Aceh Tsunami Oral History archive transcribes firsthand accounts from survivors of the December 26, 2004, tsunami, capturing their experiences as direct witnesses to the disaster. These narratives express emotions such as anxiety, panic, worry, distress, and disorientation. This frame of mind reflects the psychological turmoil faced during the earthquake and tsunami waves. This study focuses on expressive speech acts (ESAs), aiming to identify their types, strategies, and patterns in the oral history archive. A qualitative pragmatic approach was employed, with data collected through reading, recording, coding, tabulating, and categorizing. The process of data analysis followed five stages: description, selection, analysis, interpretation, and conclusion. The findings reveal that Aceh tsunami survivors used 22 types of ESAs, both direct and indirect. A number of 65 strategy patterns emerged from two primary strategies, shaping communication based on the survivors intended interlocutors. The expressions directed toward Allah, the one God, were dominant, featuring religious language and strong Islamic references. The use of hadih maja (Acehnese proverbs) was also identified, illustrating how the survivors speech acts integrate cultural and religious elements in their communication. The findings have inclusively presented the deep interconnection between faith, Acehnese cultural wisdom, and the ESAs of tsunami survivors.

Abstract

Expression speech acts are a form of a person's natural expression of what is actually felt. The speech acts of expression of Aceh tsunami survivors provide important information about how the survivors perceived the 2004 tsunami event. Expressing what they thought, believed and felt when they experienced the tsunami. Was the tsunami the apocalypse or a warning from God? One form of speech act of expression is self-centered speech act of expression, which is the speech act of expression of survivors to themselves. How are the forms and functions of self-centered expressive speech acts produced by Aceh tsunami survivors. A qualitative research method with a pragmatic approach is used to examine the data sources, namely 105 manuscripts of the experience stories of the survivors of the 2004 Aceh tsunami collected in a book entitled Tsunami and Their Stories by the Provincial Archives of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. The data in this study are excerpts of speech acts of expression of the Aceh tsunami survivors. The data were collected through documentation study, namely reading carefully, identifying, marking, and sorting the data into specific topics. Data analysis was conducted using a qualitative data analysis model, namely reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the survivors of the 2004 Aceh tsunami expressed 11 forms of self-centered expressive speech acts. The survivors expressed their emotions in accordance with social, cultural, and religious norms. In the context of a religious Acehnese society, the various speech acts of the survivors' expressions reflected a strong faith and acceptance of the disaster as part of God's will. Islam and Acehnese culture build the construction of speech acts of expression centered on the survivors of the 2004 Aceh tsunami.
