Abstract

Background: Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) play a pivotal role in the realm of law enforcement and human rights. In recent decades, their influence has expanded significantly, especially in areas where government action is either insufficient or absent. NGOs often bridge gaps in legal and human rights protection by advocating for vulnerable populations, monitoring abuses, and holding governments accountable. Their contributions in law enforcement vary, from providing legal assistance to victims of human rights violations to actively participating in the policy-making process. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the role of NGOs in law enforcement and human rights, with a particular focus on their contributions to legal reforms, advocacy for victims, and international collaborations. The research explores how NGOs influence law enforcement mechanisms and contribute to the advancement of human rights protections across different regions. Method: A qualitative research design was employed, utilizing case studies, interviews with NGO leaders, legal experts, and human rights advocates, and document analysis of reports and legal frameworks where NGOs have had significant influence. Results: The study found that NGOs significantly impact human rights law enforcement, especially in regions with weak legal frameworks. They provide essential resources for victims, influence policy changes, and sometimes fill gaps left by state institutions. However, challenges such as limited funding and political resistance affect their effectiveness. Conclusion: NGOs are indispensable in promoting human rights and enforcing laws in under-served regions. Their role should be enhanced through stronger partnerships with governments and international organizations.

Abstract

Teacher creativity plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of education, particularly in elementary schools. However, limited studies have explored how teachers develop innovative learning models tailored to students’ needs in the Indonesian context. This study aims to investigate the strategies employed by teachers to design project-based learning (PBL) models and assess their impact on students’ engagement and critical thinking skills. Employing a qualitative research method, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving 15 elementary school teachers across three regions in Indonesia. The findings reveal that teachers utilized diverse approaches, such as integrating local culture, leveraging digital tools, and fostering collaborative learning, to enrich PBL designs. Additionally, students exhibited increased motivation and improved problem-solving abilities when engaging in these models. However, challenges such as limited resources and training opportunities hindered optimal implementation. In conclusion, this study highlights the potential of teacher creativity in shaping effective PBL models and underscores the importance of institutional support for professional development. Future research should focus on scaling successful practices and addressing existing barriers.

Abstract

Lung cancer remains a significant health challenge with high mortality rates, necessitating innovative treatment approaches. Lipid nanoparticles (LNP) offer a promising platform for the delivery of small interfering RNA (siRNA) as gene therapy to target specific oncogenes in lung cancer cells. To develop and optimize LNPs for efficient siRNA delivery, improving gene silencing efficiency and therapeutic outcomes in lung cancer treatment. The study involved in vitro and in vivo experiments to characterize the LNPs, evaluate gene silencing efficiency, and assess therapeutic efficacy. LNPs were formulated with specific lipid compositions and tested on lung cancer cell lines and murine models. Optimized LNP formulations demonstrated high siRNA encapsulation efficiency (>85%), stable particle size (80-120 nm), and suitable zeta potential (-30 to -50 mV). In vitro studies showed over 70% gene silencing efficiency, while in vivo experiments indicated significant tumor growth inhibition and improved survival rates in murine models. Biodistribution studies confirmed targeted delivery to lung and tumor tissues with minimal off-target effects. The study highlights the potential of LNP-siRNA therapy as an effective and specific treatment for lung cancer. Further research and clinical trials are needed to validate these findings and optimize the delivery system for clinical use.
