Abstract

The integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education has gained significant attention for its potential to transform traditional classroom learning. ICT tools offer new ways to enhance student engagement, provide access to diverse resources, and foster interactive learning environments. However, the effective use of ICT in the classroom requires a strategic approach to ensure that technology serves as a facilitator of learning rather than a distraction. This research aims to investigate how the effective use of ICT can enhance classroom learning experiences by examining its impact on student engagement, collaboration, and academic outcomes. A mixed-methods research design was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Data were collected from 150 students and 30 educators across various educational levels, focusing on the types of ICT tools used, the frequency of use, and the perceived impact on learning. The survey data were analyzed statistically, while the interviews provided deeper insights into the experiences and challenges associated with ICT integration. The findings indicate that the strategic use of ICT in the classroom significantly enhances student engagement and collaboration. Students who used ICT tools frequently reported higher levels of motivation and participation in class activities. However, the study also identified challenges such as inadequate teacher training and technological issues, which can hinder the effectiveness of ICT. In conclusion, the research suggests that when used effectively, ICT can greatly improve classroom learning experiences by fostering engagement and interactivity. The study highlights the need for ongoing teacher training and technical support to maximize the benefits of ICT in education.

Abstract

Science education plays a crucial role in developing students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills. However, traditional teaching methods often fail to engage students in meaningful learning experiences. To address this issue, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) has been introduced as an innovative instructional approach that encourages active learning and critical inquiry. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the PBL method in science education by analyzing its impact on students' learning outcomes and engagement. This research employs a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group using the PBL method and a control group using conventional methods. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test assessments, student questionnaires, and classroom observations. The study involved secondary school students in a science subject. The findings reveal that students in the PBL group demonstrated higher academic achievement and improved problem-solving abilities compared to those in the control group. Additionally, PBL fosters greater student engagement, motivation, and collaboration during the learning process. In conclusion, the Problem-Based Learning method proves to be an effective strategy in science education, enhancing students' understanding and critical thinking skills. Educators are encouraged to implement PBL in science classrooms to create a more dynamic and interactive learning environment.

Abstract

Background: Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) play a pivotal role in the realm of law enforcement and human rights. In recent decades, their influence has expanded significantly, especially in areas where government action is either insufficient or absent. NGOs often bridge gaps in legal and human rights protection by advocating for vulnerable populations, monitoring abuses, and holding governments accountable. Their contributions in law enforcement vary, from providing legal assistance to victims of human rights violations to actively participating in the policy-making process. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the role of NGOs in law enforcement and human rights, with a particular focus on their contributions to legal reforms, advocacy for victims, and international collaborations. The research explores how NGOs influence law enforcement mechanisms and contribute to the advancement of human rights protections across different regions. Method: A qualitative research design was employed, utilizing case studies, interviews with NGO leaders, legal experts, and human rights advocates, and document analysis of reports and legal frameworks where NGOs have had significant influence. Results: The study found that NGOs significantly impact human rights law enforcement, especially in regions with weak legal frameworks. They provide essential resources for victims, influence policy changes, and sometimes fill gaps left by state institutions. However, challenges such as limited funding and political resistance affect their effectiveness. Conclusion: NGOs are indispensable in promoting human rights and enforcing laws in under-served regions. Their role should be enhanced through stronger partnerships with governments and international organizations.

Abstract

Academic stress is a prevalent issue among college students, often leading to negative psychological and academic outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of a mindfulness-based counseling program in reducing academic stress. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group was employed, involving 120 college students divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group participated in an eight-week mindfulness-based intervention, while the control group received no intervention. The results indicated a significant reduction in academic stress levels among participants in the experimental group compared to the control group (p < 0.01). Participants reported improved emotional regulation, concentration, and coping strategies. These findings underscore the efficacy of mindfulness practices in fostering psychological resilience among students. This research contributes to the field by integrating mindfulness techniques into counseling programs specifically tailored for academic stress. The study's limitations include its reliance on self-reported measures and a relatively short follow-up period. Future studies should incorporate longitudinal designs and objective stress indicators to validate the findings further.

Abstract

Prosocial behavior—voluntary actions intended to benefit others—is a cornerstone of functional societies. While its benefits for the recipient are clear, a growing body of research in positive psychology suggests that engaging in altruistic acts may also be a powerful and often overlooked pathway to enhancing the actor’s own psychological well-being and overall life satisfaction. This study aimed to empirically investigate the relationship between the frequency of engaging in prosocial behavior and self-reported levels of psychological well-being and life satisfaction in a diverse adult population, and to determine if this relationship holds after controlling for key demographic variables. A cross-sectional survey design was employed with a sample of 450 adults (aged 25-65). Participants completed a battery of validated instruments, including the Prosocialness Scale, the PERMA Well-being Profiler, and the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). A strong, positive correlation was found between prosocial behavior and both well-being (r = .51, p < .001) and life satisfaction (r = .48, p < .001). The regression analysis revealed that prosocial behavior remained a significant and unique predictor of both outcomes even after controlling for all demographic variables. It accounted for a substantial portion of the variance in both well-being and life satisfaction scores. Engaging in prosocial behavior is a robust and significant predictor of higher psychological well-being and greater life satisfaction. The findings suggest that altruistic actions are not merely a consequence of happiness but are an active ingredient in creating a fulfilling life.
