Abstract

At the local level, student entrepreneurship management at Syiah Kuala University (USK) faces problems that align with these global challenges. This community service activity, a sharing session on student entrepreneurship management at Universitas Syiah Kuala, aimed to enhance the capacity of entrepreneurship program managers in integrating technology and innovation. Using the service learning method, participants were introduced to digital platforms and business management tools. The session involved collaborative efforts from various departments, focusing on improving the understanding and skills of the participants. Data collection included pre- and post-tests, showing a significant increase in participant competence. The results indicate that this approach is effective and can be replicated for broader applications, contributing to SDGs by promoting inclusive economic growth and supporting young entrepreneurs.

Abstract

This activity aims to enhance the understanding and skills of pesantren administrators and students in managing Islamic finance, including the principles of Sharia-based financial management and the integration of digital financial technology. The event took place on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Pesantren Terpadu Semayoen Nusantara, using a service learning (SL) approach that involved all stakeholders of the pesantren as active participants. Evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests showed significant improvement in participants' understanding, with a notable increase in their comprehension of Islamic finance principles after the activity. Participants also demonstrated a better readiness to apply Islamic financial literacy concepts into real-life practice, such as implementing Sharia-compliant financial management within the pesantren. These results are consistent with previous studies that highlight the critical role of education and capacity building in promoting the adoption of Islamic financial systems within the community. This activity contributes to the SDG's goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by equipping the pesantren community with knowledge and skills to manage finances ethically and effectively. Despite challenges such as time constraints, this activity successfully achieved its objectives and inspired the implementation of similar programs in the future.

Abstract

This study explores the intersection of Maqasid al-Shariah (the objectives of Islamic law) and environmental sustainability, focusing on its implications within Islamic economics. Recognizing the increasing global challenges related to environmental degradation, this research highlights the essential role of Islamic principles in fostering sustainable economic practices. The Maqasid al-Shariah, which prioritize the preservation of life, intellect, lineage, wealth, and faith, inherently support environmental stewardship as a means to achieve balance and harmony. This study used a qualitative content analysis approach to investigate the integration of Maqasid al-Shariah and environmental sustainability in Islamic economics. Data was gathered from secondary sources, including peer-reviewed articles, policy documents, and reports from Islamic financial institutions. By examining Islamic teachings, ethical frameworks, and financial instruments such as green sukuk, the study demonstrates how Islamic economics can contribute to addressing environmental challenges. This work underscores the potential of faith-based economic systems to lead global efforts toward sustainability, advocating for a paradigm shift that integrates spirituality, ethics, and economic decision-making for the betterment of society and the planet.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought various benefits, but it also poses significant risks to the well-being of individuals, especially the younger generation. The phenomenon of online loans and online gambling poses a serious threat among students, who often lack financial literacy and awareness of digital risks. This research aims to raise students' awareness of the dangers of online lending and online gambling through an education and socialization program at SMAN 1 Sigli, Aceh. The program was implemented using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which includes four phases: identification, needs determination, intervention, and evaluation. The results showed that after participating in the program, there was a significant increase in students' understanding of the risks of online loans and online gambling, as well as a change in attitudes towards both issues. In addition, teachers involved in the program reported increased confidence in delivering related materials to students. These findings suggest that an interactive and comprehensive educational approach can be effective in protecting students from the risks of online lending and online gambling. Recommendations for further development include implementing similar programs in other schools, developing more comprehensive educational materials, and increasing parental and community involvement in prevention efforts. This research contributes to the development of Islamic financial literacy, digital risk awareness, and supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dispute resolution strategies implemented by the Indonesian Waqf Board (Badan Wakaf Indonesia-BWI)Representative Office in Aceh and to assess their compliance with Islamic legal principles. The urgency of this study stems from the high potential for waqf disputes in Aceh, primarily due to incomplete administrative documentation and inadequate records of waqf assets. These conditions often trigger disputes between nazhir, wakif, and heirs, thereby requiring an effective, structured, and sharia-compliant dispute resolution mechanism. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using document analysis and in-depth interviews with informants from BWI Aceh and academic experts. The data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of dispute resolution and their relevance to the concepts of shulh and tahkim in Islamic law. The findings indicate that BWI Aceh prioritizes non-litigation mechanisms through mediation and arbitration. Mediation serves as the primary instrument, conducted through problem identification, facilitated dialogue, and negotiation until a mutually acceptable settlement is reached. Arbitration is applied when mediation does not produce an agreement. This approach aligns with Islamic values that emphasize deliberation, justice, and peace. These strategies have proven effective in resolving various types of disputes, including conflicts involving overlapping claims and differing interpretations of management rights. The study concludes that BWI Aceh’s strategy is consistent with Islamic legal principles and contributes to enhancing legal certainty and protecting waqf assets. Nevertheless, strengthening data management, disseminating regulations, and improving nazhir capacity remain necessary to ensure more optimal waqf dispute resolution.
