Abstract

Riemann Geometry is a difficult elective for students. The ethnomathematics approach is one way to make it easier for students to learn geometry. The aim of this research is to produce a learning theory for Introduction to Riemann Geometry through an ethnomathematics learning approach that is valid. This research method applies a research design. There are three stages, namely Preliminary Research; Prototype, and the last is the Assessment Stage. The results of this research are that the learning and its tools are valid based on validation by seven experts. In conclusion, the initial design of the learning theory for Riemann Geometry is very valid.

Abstract

Based on the preliminary survey, it is known that the scores of junior high school students' math problem-solving abilities are low. One of the causes of the low ability to solve mathematical problems is the low ability of students' mathematical reasoning. The purpose of this study was to examine the suitability of the structural equation model for the relationship between mathematical reasoning abilities and mathematical problem-solving abilities. This research design is ex post facto. The population of this study was students of SMP N 1 Bengkulu City, as many as 296 students. A simple sample randomly selected as many as 100 people. The research instrument was a test of mathematical problem-solving ability and a test of mathematical reasoning ability. The data were analyzed through a structural equation model with the help of the Lisrel 8.8 and SPSS programs. The result of this research is that the path efficiency is very significant, meaning that the ability of mathematical reasoning is directly related to the ability of solving mathematical problems. This means that an increase in mathematical reasoning ability leads to an increase in mathematical problem-solving ability. The conclusion of this study is that mathematical reasoning ability is directly related to mathematical problem-solving ability, with the contribution of mathematical reasoning ability to increasing mathematical problem-solving ability of 15.13%. The implication is that in the process of learning to solve mathematical problems, mathematical reasoning abilities are a necessary condition for students before learning to solve mathematical problems.

Abstract

This study aims to test the compatibility of structural equation (SEM) models to determine the relationship between mathematical reasoning ability and geometry problem solving ability. Using an ex-post facto research design, this study took a random sample of 100 students from a total of 296 mathematics education student population at a university in Lubuklinggau. Data were collected through mathematical reasoning tests and geometry problem-solving tests, then analyzed using the Lisrel 8.8 and SPSS programs. The results of the analysis show a very significant path coefficient, which proves that mathematical reasoning ability has a positive direct relationship with geometry problem-solving ability. This means that an increase in reasoning skills will be followed by an increase in the ability to solve geometry problems. In conclusion, this study confirms the existence of a direct relationship between the two variables, where mathematical reasoning ability contributes 15.13% to the improvement of geometry problem-solving ability. Abstract

The proficiency of students in mathematical problem-solving skills is believed to be shaped by factors such as mathematical concepts understanding, creative thinking skills, and self-efficacy. This research endeavors to investigate the interplay among self-efficacy, mathematical concepts understanding, creative thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and mathematics learning outcomes. Employing a survey approach, the study encompasses all ninth-grade students in Central Bengkulu, Bengkulu, Indonesia, with a sample of 100 students selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Data collection involves Likert scale instruments for self-efficacy, along with tests for mathematical concepts understanding, creative thinking skills, and problem-solving skills. Path analysis techniques are applied for data analysis. The findings of the research indicate that mathematical concepts understanding, creative thinking skills, and problem-solving skills collectively exert a positive influence on mathematics learning outcomes. Additionally, it is demonstrated that self-efficacy, understanding mathematical concepts, and creative thinking skills collectively contribute positively to problem-solving skills. Furthermore, the research reveals a direct positive influence of self-efficacy on both mathematical concepts understanding and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether there is a positive correlation between mathematics learning habits through an ethnomathematics approach and entrepreneurial behavior. This research is survey research conducted by mathematics education students in Bengkulu and Lubuklinggau. The sample for this research consisted of 70 students. There are two questionnaires as research instruments. Both are a questionnaire on mathematics learning habits using an ethnomathematics approach, and an entrepreneurial behavior questionnaire. The result of this research is that the complete structural equation model fit test is a good fit, which means that the empirical structural equation model is suitable with the theoretical (conceptual) structural equation model. The results of the hypothesis test show that the calculated t value is 11.364 > 1.96, which means Ho is rejected, meaning that this research hypothesis is accepted. The conclusion is that there is a positive correlation between mathematics learning habits through an ethnomathematics approach and entrepreneurial behavior.
