Abstract

Dengue fever is an endemic arbovirus disease that often causes morbidity and mortality. Rapid and appropriate treatment of dengue fever can be done if a rapid and specific test during the acute phase of infection can be done. An examination that has been developed is the dengue non-structural antigen (NS1) examination which can detect dengue virus infection earlier. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between clinical signs and symptoms with NS1 examination results in patients suspected of dengue fever at the Sukodadi Health Center. The type of research is descriptive analytical with a cross-sectional approach to 86 patients at the Sukodadi Health Center, Lamongan Regency using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out on patient medical records based on the results of clinical signs and symptoms of the examination and the results of the NS1 examination. The collected data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test, with a significance level of p <0.05. The results of the study showed that most patients (72.1%) were diagnosed with suspected dengue fever, most (79.1%) had negative NS1 examination results, and the Chi-Square test results obtained x count = 8.812, and p = 0.003 (<0.05), then H0 was rejected, meaning that there was a relationship between clinical signs and symptoms with NS1 examination results in patients with suspected dengue fever. The conclusion of this study is there is a significant relationship between clinical signs and symptoms with NS1 examination results in patients with suspected dengue fever

Abstract

Breast cancer management is chemotherapy. One of the negative impacts of chemotherapy is affecting hemoglobin and neutrophils. This study aims to determine the description of Hemoglobin levels and Neutrophil counts in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy stage 1 (early) and stage 6 (late) at the Oncology Center of Dr. Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya. This study is an observational study with a retrospective design. The sample in this study was some breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy stage 1 (early) and 6 (late) at the Oncology Center of Dr. Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya, which was taken as many as 25 people by purposive sampling. Purposive sampling. The study was conducted in the Oncology Center laboratory of Dr. Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya. This study was conducted from October to December 2022. The results of the study showed that breast cancer patients undergoing stage 1 chemotherapy mostly had normal hemoglobin as many as 13 people (52%) with an average Hb level of ± 12.34 g / dL and normal neutrophils as many as 23 people (92%) with an average neutrophil level of ± 4412 cells / µL. In stage 6 chemotherapy, most had low hemoglobin as many as 13 people (52%) with an average Hb level of ± 11.78 g / dL and normal neutrophils as many as 24 people (96%) with an average number of neutrophils of 4202.68 cells / µL.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease caused by the failure of the pancreas to carry out its function, namely to produce insulin. Lack of insulin will cause increased levels of glucose in the blood or also known as hyperglycemia. HbA1c and Microalbuminuria are screening tests used to detect the early onset of diabetic nephropathy. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a correlation between HbA1c levels and microalbuminuria in diabetes mellitus patients at Bunda Mulia Lumajang Clinic and Laboratory. The research method was descriptive analytic. The subjects of this study were Diabetes Mellitus prolanis patients at Bunda Mulia Lumajang Clinic and Laboratory who were taken randomly as many as 50 patients.. The results of this study are that there is a unidirectional positive relationship with a strong correlation between HbA1c levels and microalbuminuria in diabetes mellitus patients, with a correlation value of 0.722. Based on the results, can be concluded that there was a strong and positive correlation between HbA1c and urine microalbumin in diabetes mellitus patients.

Abstract

Coffee contains a lot of phenolic compounds, especially chlorogenic acid, therefore many studies have examined the potential of coffee as an antioxidant. Antioxidants can inactivate oxidation reactions and prevent the formation of free radicals. This research aimed to determine the total phenolic and flavonoid content of the ethanol extract of robusta coffee (Coffea canephora) and the ethanol extract of arabica coffee (Coffea arabica), as well as determine the % inhibition value of Arabica coffee ethanol extract and Robusta coffee ethanol extract and their combination as antioxidants in vitro. Robusta and Arabica coffee powders were soaked in ethanol solvent, respectively, and the filtrate was concentrated using a rotary evaporator. The extract’s flavonoid and total phenolic content were measured by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. An antioxidant activity test was carried out using the DPPH method. The phenolic content of the ethanol extract of robusta coffee powder and the ethanol extract of arabica coffee powder were 7.98 and 9.16 mg QE/g, respectively. The total flavonoid content of the ethanol extract of robusta coffee powder and the ethanol extract of arabica coffee powder were 11.5 and 14.2 mg GAE/g, respectively. The highest % inhibition values of the ethanol extract of arabica coffee powder and the ethanol extract of robusta coffee and their combination as antioxidants in vitro were 71.1, 85.1, and 86.4%.
