Abstract

Kampung Paseban merupakan wilayah dengan cuaca yang tidak menentu, yang menyebabkan pengeringan biji kopi menggunakan solar dryer dome menjadi kurang optimal. Hal ini sering mengakibatkan biji kopi berjamur, sehingga menurunkan kualitas produk. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, Tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) mengembangkan teknologi pengering biji kopi berbasis lampu pemanas pada solar dryer dome untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pengeringan di Kampung Paseban. Teknologi ini memanfaatkan energi matahari dan lampu pemanas untuk mengurangi ketergantungan pada cuaca. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi pengeringan dengan menjaga suhu ideal 24-27°C dalam waktu tertentu yang dicapai sesuai dengan perubahan suhu melalui sistem kontrol suhu otomatis. Pelatihan petani tentang instalasi, pemeliharaan, dan pengoperasian sistem juga dilakukan. Teknologi ini berpotensi meningkatkan produktivitas dan pendapatan petani kopi, serta mendukung pelestarian lingkungan. Kolaborasi antara akademisi dan petani diharapkan dapat menjadikan sistem ini sebagai model teknologi berkelanjutan yang dapat direplikasi di berbagai daerah penghasil kopi di Indonesia.

Abstract

Pada tanggal 7-8 Maret 2024 beberapa daerah di Sumatera Barat mengalami hujan ekstrem. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis kondisi atmosfer saat kejadian hujan ekstrem di Sumatera Barat pada saat itu. Data yang digunakan dalam studi ini mencakup data curah hujan yang berasal dari Sta. Klim. Kelas II Sumatera Barat dan data curah hujan dari data online BMKG, MJO, Indeks Dipole Mode, serta suhu kecerahan (TBB) dari Himawari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Hujan ekstrem di Sumatera Barat disebabkan karena rendahnya suhu awan yang bisa dilihat dari citra satelit, ditandai warna merah/magenta. Kemudian karena MJO kuat. MJO di kategorikan kuat, aktivitas pembentukan awan konvektif meningkat, yang biasanya menghasilkan hujan lebat atau ekstrem. Adanya Monsun barat, angin zonal dari barat yang membawa udara lembap dari laut, berkontribusi pada pembentukan awan hujan di daerah pesisir. Jika MJO terjadi bersamaan dengan muson barat, curah hujan di wilayah barat Indonesia akan semakin meningkat. Serta kondisi lokal dan topografi wilayah tersebut, dimana pada daerah dataran rendah terjadi hujan ekstrem dan pada dataran tinggi tidak terjadi hujan ekstrem.

Abstract

This study explores the application of Word Square learning media to enhance the memorization of Arabic mufradat (vocabulary) among seventh-grade students at MTs Muhammadiyah Pinrang. The research addresses the challenge of low vocabulary retention, a critical issue in Arabic language learning, and aims to determine whether the interactive, game-based Word Square method can enhance student engagement and memorization.A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design was employed, conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through observations, pre- and post-tests, and documentation, and analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. In the first cycle, while student engagement increased, only a modest improvement in vocabulary retention was observed. Adjustments were made in the second cycle, including simplifying the puzzles and encouraging collaborative learning, which led to a significant increase in student performance.The results showed that Word Square is an effective tool for improving vocabulary retention, with most students achieving "good" levels of recall by the end of the second cycle. The interactive and collaborative nature of the activity played a crucial role in fostering a more engaging and supportive learning environment.The study concludes that Word Square can be a valuable alternative to traditional vocabulary teaching methods, offering practical insights for educators seeking to enhance language instruction. The findings suggest further research on long-term retention and the use of Word Square for other language skills could broaden the tool's applicability. Keywords: Word Square, Arabic Mufradat, Vocabulary Retention, Collaborative Learning.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the close relationship between language policy and national education in Indonesia as two fundamental components in shaping the direction of national development. The language policy discussed includes aspects of language planning, development, fostering, and protection, which include Indonesian as the national language, regional languages as cultural heritage, and foreign languages as a means of global communication. The implementation of the language policy covers various domains, such as mass media, formal and non-formal education systems, the judicial system and public administration, and international relations. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach strengthened by an in-depth literature study method. This study examines various policy documents, previous research results, government regulations, and the thoughts of language and education experts. The results of the study show that language and education policies are dynamically interrelated in forming the nation's collective identity, strengthening nationalism, and equipping students with language and character competencies that are relevant to the demands of the times. Language policies that are integrated into the education system can improve students' literacy skills, enrich national insight, and foster an attitude of tolerance towards cultural diversity and local languages.
