Abstract

This paper aims to explore Luce Irigaray's thoughts regarding the problem of masculine domination. In the process of studying the thought of Irigaray, the method used is the method of literature(LibraryResearch), which is a series of activities that are pleasing to the method of data collection library, read, record and process the research data. With this method, it will be shown how Iragaray's criticism is aimed at destroying the hegemony of the tradition of patriarchal thought. For Irigray, patriarchal discourse has constructed women as inferior, lower under the superiority of men. Therefore, by emphasizing the subjectivity of women, the logic of masculine domination can be understood, especially when placed in a mimetic way of thinking. Mimeticism is used by Irigaray to distinguish the thought traditions of women and men in constructing knowledge, even language is influenced by patriarchal discourse. Abstract

This research examines the encyclical Mulieris Dignitatem and its implications for women's dignity and gender equality. The research utilizes library materials as the primary source of data and references. Mulieris Dignitatem emphasizes that both men and women are created in the image of God and have inherent dignity. This concept of women's dignity is relevant in addressing issues of discrimination, domestic violence, and limited rights for women in politics and society, particularly in relation to Catholic values. Furthermore, the concept of women's dignity can serve as an inspiration to empower women in various domains of life, including the family, church, and society. Overall, Mulieris Dignitatem provides a foundation for evaluating and addressing gender inequality while promoting women's rights and roles in different aspects of life. Abstract

Artikel ini berisi uraian tentang masalah-masalah yang melatarbelakangi pelaksanaan tradisi harta buang, pihak-pihak yang terlibat dan kompensasi harta adat sebagaimana dipraktekkan pada masyarakat Katolik di Kepulauan Tanimbar dan Kepulauan Kei. Dengan berdasarkan pada penelitian kualitatif, artikel ini akan mendeskripsikan masalah-masalah dan semua prosedur adat berdasarkan apa yang kini dihidupi oleh masyarakat-masyarakat Katolik tersebut pada saat ini.

Abstract

Humanisation is the basic concept of education, in the opinion of Driyarkara. This concept is the foundation of a number of critical thoughts by Driyarkara in matters of education, which can be perceived in a frame of philosophical and theological reflections. Philosophy and theology are considere to be the main instruments when one discusses education. Though this theory is rationally upon as most superbe, which is not to be discussed what so ever. On the contrary, educations is a product of a discourse, which has to be studied in a critical way, in order to forestall a mismanagement of dogmatical truth.

Abstract

This article is meant to be a critical reflection on the ideal responsibility of educational institutions and the role of the teachers in today’s world of education. The article focuses on the problem of the declining morality of the education as a result of the hegemony of global capitalism. This becomes apparent in the spreading of the culture of industrialisation and commercialisation of education. The moment has come to reflect seriously on the genuine culture, so as to build a new paradigma in matters of education, especially by reconstructing the ideal role and responsibility and the reposition of the role of the teachers, specifically the catholic teachers of religion in the world of education. To this end, as a base of analysis on the above mentioned matters, in this article some critical thoughts in matters of culture will be the base of analysis.

Abstract

By the phrase “post-colonial state” is not sufficently expressed the position of those former colonial-governed states. Neither is the rather “chronical” prefix “pasca” (former) in the phrase “pasca-colonialism” enough to express their situation as “after colonialism”. The phrase “pasca-kolonialism” idicates a critical interpretation of the whole cultural product which has been influenced by colonial goverment ip to now. In this context we deem it worthwile in this article to reflect on evangelization and colonialism. We do not intend to romanticize the history of colonisation, but reconstruct history in order to expose what is said about the power of simbolics and the contruction of the identity of the colonial subject that is yielded in factual discourse. Thus in fact this article is meant to be a critical reflection on any discourse on evangelization and colonialism in the Moluccas.

Abstract

This article is a reflection which is meant to be a critical opinion on adat (local customs and tradition) issues in Ambon, specifically since 1998, when many people indulged in talking about adat. Adat should not be looked upon as managing certain objects and valuables, reducing them to traditional appreciation. Nowadays it is important to deliberate in which way adat is being deliberated. In this context Michel Foucault’s analysis on power will be used as the main device of analysis. With the help of Foucault, we will try and scrutinize in wider scope, how to distance ourselves from being trapped in any power which is used in the name of adat.

Abstract

Harta buang is a customary fine, such as ivory, male earrings and gold breast pendant, to be paid by the divorcing party of the husband or wife. Harta buang also means a fine to be paid to the woman who was raped, humiliated, or made a temporary lover but then not married. These customary treasure fines are intended to prevent the occurrence of divorce and also as a form of expression of restoration and respect for the dignity of women who have been divorced or abused. This study aims to describe Tanimbarese people’s understanding of the shift in the means of payment of property and their appreciation of women. The results show that people of Tanimbar began to use money as a means of payment of the property as determined by the officials of Tanimbarese villages (latupati). The villages’ officials of Tanimbarese were of the opinion that paying both with customary objects and with money express the respect for women. However, some Tanimbarese still consider that payments with customary objects are more wighted and beter respect for women.

Abstract

The Diocesan priests are the main ministers of the apostolic ministry and faith development of the people in every diocese. The effort to implement the spiritual apostolate in the midst of the people of God, the diocesan priests are often received the negative assessment from the people. The history has noted that from of old the people of the compare the life style and the ministry of the diocesan priests and the religious priests. The religious priests are assessed to be better than the diocesan priests. This common assessment also takes place in the diocese of Amboina. However, if we are wise enough, this assesements become the input for the betterment of the spiritual grouth of the diocesan priests.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mendalami secara khusus pengalaman bermedia kebanyakan orang secara khusus anak muda, mahasiswa STPAK Ambon. Ada 2 hal yang mendasari kegemaran orang menggunakan media, yakni: untuk mengungkapkan diri kepada public (presentasi diri) dan untuk memenuhi harapan public (verefikasi diri). Kedua hal ini secara umum mendasari alasan dibalik kegemaran orang menggunakan media. Hal yang sering kali tidak disadari adalah makna konstruktif dalam pengalaman media. Dalam bermedia, sesungguhnya kita sedang ditawarkan sebuah identitas baru untuk dikonsumsi. Identitas tersebut adalah identitas virtual yang merupakan konstruksi sosial atas pengalaman kita bermedia.
