Abstract

Silver pompano fish has great potential for widespread development. This study aims to determine the optimal stocking density that supports the growth and survival rates of silver pompano (Trachinotus blochii). The research was conducted from June 23, 2023, to July 23, 2023, at the Lombok Marine Aquaculture Center, located in Sekotong Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The method used was an experimental approach with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of five treatments, each repeated five times, resulting in 25 experimental units. The treatments were as follows: P1 = 5 fish/10 liters, P2 = 15 fish/10 liters, P3 = 25 fish/10 liters, P4 = 35 fish/10 liters, and P5 = 45 fish/10 liters. The results showed that stocking density did not affect the growth of silver pompano but had an impact on its survival rate. The average growth data revealed that a density of 15 fish/10L (P2) produced the highest final weight of 3.12 g, while a density of 5 fish/10L (P1) resulted in the lowest final weight of 2.958 g.

Abstract

Silver pompano (Trachinotus blochii) is a species of marine aquaculture are still new in Indonesia. This species has a life cycle that is entirely at sea, but has the potential to be cultivated in ponds of low salinity. This study was conducted to determine the effect of different salinity on larval rearing on the survival rate and degree of abnormality larvae silver pompano fish larvae (T. blochii). This research was conducted in June 2014 in Lombok Marine Aquaculture Development Center Aquaculture Department Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Station Sekotong, West Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara Provinceby using a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of five salinity treatments (34, 31, 28, 25, and 22 ppt) with 5 replications. The results showed that silver pompano fish larvae age Save D17-D35 is able to survive at salinity 22-34 ppt with a survival rate of over 90%. However, in less than 31 ppt salinity, larvae abnormality silver pompano Save increased with decreasing salinity. Keywords: Survival rate, abnormality, Silver pompano, salinity.

Abstract

Pangasius sp. is a freshwater fish that is a favorite for the community to consume. This study aims to analyze the histopathology of catfish-given bacteria (Rhodobacter sp. and Rhodococcus sp. in aquaculture ponds against the histopathology and occurrence of yellowing in the flesh of catfish (Pangasius sp.). A randomized block design (RAK) was used for the study, with three groups:  A (0.2 mL / L), treatment B (0.5 mL / L), and C (control). The procedure for using photosynthetic bacteria is to mix each treatment dose with 1,000 mL of water and then spread it evenly in the cultivation pond. The study's results showed tissue damage to the liver, kidneys, and spleen organs, which was characterized by hemorrhage, inflammatory cell proliferation, fatty and hydropic degeneration, and Melano Macrophages Aggregate (MMA). Organ tissue damage indicates that environmental conditions or water quality are unsuitable. Unsuitable environmental conditions cause stress, dysfunction, and damage to organs. The use of photosynthetic bacteria has a better effect than without the use of photosynthetic bacteria.
