Abstract

Komoditas perikanan air tawar sangat bernilai ekonomis. Hal tersebut dikarenakan kandungan gizi pada ikan yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan protein sehari-hari sehingga tak mengherankan budidaya sebagai industri yang dapat meraup keuntungan. Maka dari itu, budidaya menjadi sektor penting dalam meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Dusun Karang Anyar telah menjadi pusat produksi budidaya ikan air tawar di desa Lunyuk Rea dengan luas lahan 1.942 m2. Meskipun budidaya ikan air tawar telah berkembang namun manajemen kualitas air budidaya belum dipahami oleh kelompok pembudidaya ikan Karamel Indah. Oleh karena itu melalui kegiatan penyuluhan ini diharapakn dapat meningkatkan pemahaman kelompok pembudidaya ikan tentang manajemen kualitas air untuk sistem budidaya yang berkelanjutan. Program Studi Ilmu Perikanan Fakultas Ilmu dan Teknologi Hayati Universitas Teknologi Sumbawa telah melakukan penyuluhan dan pendampingan di desa Lunyuk Rea pada bulan Maret 2022 dengan tema Manajemen Kualitas Air Budidaya Ikan Air Tawar, langkah strategis dan permasalahan dan sasaran yaitu kelompok pembudidaya Karamel Indah. Berdasarkan diskusi maupun komunikasi selama penyuluhan dan pendampingan, perlu adanya demplot budidaya ikan air tawar di desa Lunyuk Rea Kabupaten Sumbawa sebagai tempat pelatihan dan pembelajaran masyarakat.

Abstract

Papaya leaf extract is known to have various benefits, including the papain enzyme which can function as a protein digester and improve the fish's immune system. The use of natural ingredients such as papaya leaf extract can also reduce dependence on synthetic chemicals, making it safer for human health and the environment. Based on the explanation above, it is necessary to conduct research on the effect of giving different doses of papaya leaf extract on the specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio and also the water quality of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) seeds. This research was conducted in June - August 2024 at the Fisheries Production Laboratory of the Matauli Fisheries and Marine College. The effect of adding papaya leaf extract to feed with different doses on the specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio and water quality of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) seeds produced the best results. The best treatment for Specific Growth Rate was in the P1 treatment of 1.405%, Feed Conversion Ratio of 1.411, and water quality in the form of temperature and pH which were in optimal conditions. This dose can be an alternative as a natural ingredient that has benefits to support an environmentally friendly and sustainable catfish (Clarias gariepinus) seed cultivation system.

Abstract

Pangasius sp. is a freshwater fish that is a favorite for the community to consume. This study aims to analyze the histopathology of catfish-given bacteria (Rhodobacter sp. and Rhodococcus sp. in aquaculture ponds against the histopathology and occurrence of yellowing in the flesh of catfish (Pangasius sp.). A randomized block design (RAK) was used for the study, with three groups:  A (0.2 mL / L), treatment B (0.5 mL / L), and C (control). The procedure for using photosynthetic bacteria is to mix each treatment dose with 1,000 mL of water and then spread it evenly in the cultivation pond. The study's results showed tissue damage to the liver, kidneys, and spleen organs, which was characterized by hemorrhage, inflammatory cell proliferation, fatty and hydropic degeneration, and Melano Macrophages Aggregate (MMA). Organ tissue damage indicates that environmental conditions or water quality are unsuitable. Unsuitable environmental conditions cause stress, dysfunction, and damage to organs. The use of photosynthetic bacteria has a better effect than without the use of photosynthetic bacteria.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat melalui gerakan bersih pantai di Pantai Ai Lemak merupakan salah satu upaya pengelolaan lingkungan pesisir yang bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dan kesadaran kebersihan lingkungan serta mengajak masyarakat beserta wisatawan untuk menjaga kebersihan pesisir pantai. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode observasi dan partisipasi. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di pesisir Pantai Ai Lemak Kabupaten Sumbawa Nusa Tenggara Barat yang diikuti oleh dosen dan mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu dan Teknologi Hayati, Universitas Teknologi Sumbawa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini membuka pikiran dan wawasan masyarakat dalam meningkatkan kesadaran serta kepedulian dalam mencegah terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan perairan sehingga berdampak pada kebersihan pantai dan meningkatkan jumlah wisatawan.  Keterlibatan masyarakat pesisir pantai penting sekali untuk selalu diberikan pemahaman dan edukasi pemeliharaan lingkungan dengan baik. Keterlibatan masyarakat dalam kegiatan bersih pantai merupakan salah satu langkah edukasi dan penyadartahuan yang dapat diaplikasikan. Sehingga berpengaruh dalam kelestarian ekosistem pantai agar terhindar dari pencemaran lingkungan oleh sampah.

Abstract

Bahoi merupakan desa pesisir yang terdapat di Kecamatan Likupang Barat, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara, Sulawesi Utara. Pesisir Bahoi menyuguhkan ekowisata bahari yang diantaranya adalah mangrove, lamun, dan terumbu karang. Adapun fokus dalam tulisan ini adalah ekosistem lamun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman lamun di pesisir Desa Bahoi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode purposive sampling dengan menggunakan transek kuadrat berukuran 50 x 50 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat enam jenis lamun yaitu Enhalus acoroides, Thallasia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, Syringodium isoetifolium, Halophila ovalis, dan Halodule uninervis. Frekuensi dan kerapatan lamun didominasi oleh jenis lamun berukuran besar seperti E. acoroides dan T. hemprichii. Sedangkan indeks keanekaragaman, keseragaman dan dominansi jenis lamun ke tiga stasiun pengamatan menunjukkan kategori yang rendah.

Abstract

Salicornia europae is a marine plant that grows   in coastal areas and tides. In Sumbawa, this plant lives in the former area of ponds and usually called as lamota.  S. europae contains beneficial ingredients such as iodine, minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, unsaturated fatty acids, and sugars.  Marine plant innovations in S.  Europae, which is rich in iodine into processed yogurt, has not been well explored.  This study aimed to develop the processing of lamota into functional yogurt drink. Complete Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this experiment with a single factor of 6 levels of lamota concentration. Iodine content, ash content, pH and scoring test were carried out to find out the best quality of the lamota yogurt. The results showed that the iodine content of the product was 29.01 mcg / g dry weight and ash content was 10.59%. The pH showed that the addition of lamota minimally affected the pH of the yoghurt. In the organoleptic test found that 25% addition of lamota extract was the most preferrable concentration compared to 5, 10, 15, and 20% based on the color, taste, texture, aroma. Panelist describe the 25% lamota addition has greenish color, a little bit salty, watery texture, and green aroma. Based on the iodine content and the best consumers acceptance the yogurt with 25% addition of lamota could be categorized as a rich in iodine drink and a promising product to improve the functional characteristics of yogurt as well develop a value added local marine commodity with unique flavor.

Abstract

Sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is a type of freshwater fish which is the prima donna in Indonesia because it grows quite fast compared to other types. Feed is an important component in fish farming activities to support growth. An increase in the price of fish feed without an increase in the selling price of fish is a problem that must be faced by every farmer. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to find raw materials that are cheap and easy. The black soldier fly carcass is possible as an alternative to fish meal. Currently, the black soldier fly carcass is not widely used as a raw material for fish feed, even though this type of insect contains a relatively high protein source. The purpose of this study was to examine the potential of adding black soldier fly carcass meal for the growth and survival of Sangkuriang catfish. The black soldier fly carcass has the potential to be used as a substitute for fish meal as much as 50%. The formulated test feed contains 37-38% protein. Test feed performance was compared to control using Duncan's test. After acclimatization, the Sangkuriang catfish size 5-7 cm were randomly stocked into 15 aquariums measuring 100 cm x 50 cm x 51 cm with a stocking density of 25 fish/m3 and were fed 6% of the total weight of all test fish for 35 days. maintenance. The results showed that the growth of Sangkuriang catfish was significantly different between the 50% KL formulation test feed and the control feed (P<0.05). Using black soldier fly carcass meal can increase the absolute weight growth of 3.26 g to 5.22 g and the survival of sangkuriang catfish 77.33 – 86.67%.
