Abstract

Nowadays,Tuberculosis is still a global health problem, especially in developing countries including Indonesia. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis which attacks the lungs. Although it is contagious, TB disease can be prevented by giving an explanation to the patient to cover the mouth with a handkerchief if coughing and not to spit or discharge phlegm in any place and provide a place to spit that is given recommended materials. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide education to Elementary School pupils and increase knowledge about good and correct cough etiquette as an effort to prevent pulmonary TB disease. The implementation method was carried out by giving lectures and brochure and banner media, the participant of this community service is the students of Elementary School Kamcar 03 Padangsidimpuan. The result of this activity is classified by the level of knowledge of elementary school students about the correct cough ethics. Before being given counseling, participant who classified as lack of those knowledge are 12 participants (70.6%), sufficient knowledge are 2 participants (11.8%) and good knowledge are 3 participants (17.6%). Students' knowledge increased after being given education to sufficient knowledge: 5 participants (29.4%), good knowledge:10 participants (58.8%) and lack of knowledge: 2 participants (11.8%). It can be concluded that there is an increase in the knowledge of elementary school pupils after being given education on the correct cough etiquette.

Abstract

Kegiatan donor darah bagian dari rangkaian kegiatan yang didalamnya meliputi menyumbangkan darah yang menjadi suatu wujud bentuk penurunan angka kematian akibat dampak tidak tersedianya cadangan darah guna untuk kebutuhan darah sipenerima, Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengedukasi para mahasiswa tentang pengenalan pentingnya donor darah sejak dini pada mahasiswa di Universitas Aufa Royhan. Metode kegiatan ini meliputi pemaparan materi melalui powerpoint, ceramah dan tanya jawab. Pada hari Kamis 24 Maret 2023, sebanyak 45 mahasiswa yang mengikuti kegiatan ini selama satu jam. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah seluruh Mahasiswa universitas aufa royhan. Melalui pengabdian ini, mahasiswa akan mendapatkan edukasi pengenalan tentang donor darah, termasuk pengertian donor darah, mengapa pentingnya donor darah dilakukan, sehingga menjadi kegiatan bakti amal yang dapat dilakukan, serta meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang donor darah. Hasil dari pengabdian ini diharapkan dapat menambah pengetahuan tentang pentingnya donor darah sejak dini. Saran agar dapat menjadi masukan bagi kalangan siapa saja untuk dapat melakukan donor darah sejak dini.

Abstract

The main problem that is often experienced by the public is due to lack of knowledge and low public awareness of the benefits and importance of blood donation among the wider community in general, blood transfusion is an activity process carried out in the transmission of donor blood to the recipient must meet the criteria and have certain conditions. which must be fulfilled. This research aims to dig deeper into the experiences of blood donors in providing blood donations. This research took place in Padangsidimpuan City. This type of research is qualitative with a phenomenological design. The number of participants in this research was 4 participants. With collaizzi techniques and thematic analysis. The results of this research obtained 3 themes and 8 sub-themes, Theme 1 Motivation for blood donation received sub-themes including (1) helping others, (2) moral satisfaction, (3) reducing the risk of disease. Theme 2 Motivation for blood donation has sub-themes including (1) Feeling satisfied, (2) Feeling tired, (3) Experiencing pain. Theme 3 Motivation for blood donation has sub-themes including (1) Increasing social awareness, (2) Increasing self-confidence
