Abstract

Indonesia's raw material imports continue to increase from year to year, which shows the high dependence of the Indonesian industrial sector on raw materials from abroad. This study aims to analyze the influence of macroeconomic variables, namely inflation, money supply, interest rate, and exchange rate on raw material imports in Indonesia from January 2020 to December 2024. The data used is secondary data in the form of a monthly time series that comes from official publications of Bank Indonesia, the Central Statistics Agency, and the Ministry of Trade. The research analysis method uses the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) with the Newey-West HAC approach to overcome the problems of heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation. The results of the study show that inflation and the money supply have a positive and significant influence on raw material imports. Meanwhile, interest rates have a negative and significant influence on raw material imports. Meanwhile, in this study period, the exchange rate variable did not have a significant effect on the import of raw materials in Indonesia. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that raw material imports in Indonesia are influenced by domestic demand, economic liquidity, and interest rate policies compared to exchange rates.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused many economic activities and workforce productivity to decline. The tourism sector is a dynamic sector because it can involve many people and revitalize various business fields. Considering the strategic position of the tourism sector, research is necessary to determine its impact on the economy post-Covid-19. The objectives of this study include analyzing key sectors against the 2016 Central Java IO Table to identify sectors with high backward and forward linkages as considerations for economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2016 Central Java IO Table and information on Central Java tourist expenditure were used to analyze the impact of tourism sector demand. The results of the sectoral backward linkage analysis show that only the Food and Beverage Service sector is included in the top 10. Meanwhile, the sectoral forward linkage analysis found that the Food and Beverage Service sector and the Information and Communication Services sector are included in the top 10. The analysis of the impact of final demand on all tourism sectors in Central Java in 2021 reached 16,663,997.66 million rupiah.
