Abstract

Inter-religious harmony is a crucial aspect in maintaining social stability and community harmony in Indonesia. This study discusses the factors that disrupt inter-religious harmony through a metaphysical perspective, specifically by referring to the concept of metaphysics of togetherness from philosopher Gabriel Marcel. The research method used is a literature study that focuses on analysing theories and concepts in various related literatures. The results show that the concept of human relations, namely the ‘I-You’ and ‘I-Ia’ relations, has a significant influence in shaping patterns of social interaction that can support or hinder harmony. Tolerance and the principle of religious freedom are the main factors in realising harmony, supported by philosophical foundations and religious teachings. In addition, factors that disrupt religious harmony include discrimination, differences in interpretation of religious teachings, and political interests that utilise religious issues for certain interests. To overcome these disturbances, an awareness of the importance of the principles of justice, respect for diversity, and an understanding that human life is basically ‘existing together’ with others is needed. This study confirms that building inter-religious harmony requires not only social and legal approaches, but also philosophical awareness of the essence of human existence as interconnected beings.

Abstract

Religious modernisation has brought about significant changes in religious practice and understanding, which have impacted on the values of Pancasila as Indonesia's state ideology. This study explores how religious modernisation affects the values of Pancasila, particularly the first precept, in the perspective of the metaphysics of divinity. Using the literature study method, this research analyses the impact of modernisation on the nation's fundamental values, both positively and negatively. The results show that religious modernisation can strengthen religious understanding through wider access to information, but also risks eroding the value of spirituality due to excessive rationalisation. In the perspective of divine metaphysics, a balance between rationality and spirituality is needed so that the values of Pancasila remain relevant in modern life. This study emphasises the importance of philosophical and transcendental approaches in maintaining harmony between the progress of the times and noble traditional values.

Abstract

Malaria is an infectious disease caused by the Plasmodium parasite, which is transmitted through the bite of the Anopheles mosquito. This disease can affect individuals of all age groups, but its prevalence varies between age groups. This study aims to analyze the relationship between age and malaria incidence in the working area of the Idanogawo Health Center, Nias Regency, using the Decision Tree algorithm. Secondary data collected from medical records at the Idanogawo Health Center were processed through preprocessing to obtain age and malaria incidence attributes. The results of the analysis showed that the age group <30 years had the highest percentage of malaria incidence (80%), followed by the age groups 30-39 years and 40-49 years, each of which recorded an incidence rate of around 73%. The age group >=50 years also showed a high incidence of malaria (100%), although the sample size was small. These findings indicate that malaria attacks younger people more, but older age groups are also significantly affected.

Abstract

Diarrhea remains one of the leading causes of death among infants in Indonesia, especially in areas with limited access to healthcare. Environmental pollution and unhealthy lifestyles are the main causes of its spread. This study aims to compare the performance of the C4.5 and Random Forest algorithms in predicting diarrhea cases among infants in the working area of the Parlilitan Subdistrict Health Center, Humbahas Regency, North Sumatra Province. Secondary data were obtained from medical records and health center reports, which were then analyzed using Python. Model performance evaluation was conducted using the metrics Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1-Score, Specificity, False Positive Rate (FPR), and True Positive Rate (TPR). The test results showed that the C4.5 algorithm had superior performance with an Accuracy of 0.92; Precision, Recall, and F1-Score of 0.875 each; Specificity of 0.9412; and FPR of 0.0588. Meanwhile, Random Forest obtained an Accuracy of 0.88; Precision of 0.7778; Recall of 0.875; F1-Score of 0.8235; Specificity of 0.8824; and FPR of 0.1176. These findings indicate that C4.5 is more effective in maintaining a balance between prediction accuracy and detection capability, and is better at minimizing classification errors for negative classes.

Abstract

Smoking habits in adolescents is a serious problem with significant health impacts. Serious diseases such as cancer, heart disease and chronic respiratory problems are the consequences of this smoking habit. Adolescents are vulnerable to social pressure, environmental influences, and psychological factors that make it difficult for them to stop smoking. This study analyzes environmental, social, psychological and genetic factors that influence smoking behavior in adolescents through literature studies. These factors include the availability of cigarettes around teenagers, peer influence, stress, and genetic factors. These findings indicate the need for a holistic approach in preventing smoking in adolescents. Policies that limit youth access to cigarettes, changing social norms that support smoking, improving youth emotion management skills, and personalizing interventions based on genetic factors are important steps that must be taken to protect young people from the dangers of smoking. This comprehensive approach is expected to reduce the prevalence of smoking in adolescents, support the growth of a healthier generation, and reduce the negative impact of smoking on society as a whole.

Abstract

Communicable and non-communicable diseases are two major challenges in global and national health systems, including in Indonesia. Communicable diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV/AIDS are still the main causes of morbidity and mortality, while non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes mellitus have increased significantly along with changes in lifestyle and epidemiological transition. This article is a literature review that aims to describe prevention and control strategies for both groups of diseases based on scientific sources and official reports. The results of the study indicate that surveillance-based approaches, public education, health promotion, and multidisciplinary interventions are key to overcoming these health problems. Therefore, strengthening preventive and promotive policies must be a priority in the Indonesian health system to reduce the burden of disease in the future.

Abstract

Diarrheal disease remains one of the major health problems among toddlers in Indonesia. Environmental factors such as drinking water quality, sanitation, mothers’ hand hygiene, and immunization status play an important role in influencing the occurrence of diarrhea. This study aims to analyze the application of the C4.5 algorithm in developing a predictive model for diarrhea among toddlers using secondary data from a Public Health Center (Puskesmas), consisting of 200 records divided into 150 training data and 50 testing data. The analysis process was carried out through entropy calculation, information gain assessment, and decision tree construction to obtain classification patterns. The results showed that the C4.5 model achieved an accuracy of 92%, precision of 87.5%, recall of 87.5%, F1-score of 87.5%, and specificity of 94.12%. These values indicate that the C4.5 algorithm is capable of making predictions with a good level of accuracy and balance in detecting both positive and negative cases. This study contributes to the utilization of data mining, particularly the C4.5 algorithm, as a decision-support tool in the health sector for the prevention of diarrheal disease among toddlers.
