Abstract

YouTube content has become a significant factor with notable effects and impacts on society today, particularly in the realms of education and learning. This is also true for Arabic language learning, where various educational contents are available to enhance learners' proficiency. The purpose of this study is to explore the "Marhaban Academy" YouTube channel, understand the vocabulary teaching methods employed, and analyze the effectiveness of its content in improving Arabic vocabulary mastery. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze the YouTube channel "Marhaban Academy," focusing specifically on the video titled "Learning Arabic Through Spongebob Cartoons Part 11" as a case study for enhancing vocabulary acquisition. Data collection was conducted through several stages: viewing the content, categorizing learning elements, and evaluating media usage. Data analysis involved comprehensive and detailed content review, followed by data coding based on predefined analytical categories. The findings reveal that: 1) the "Marhaban Academy" channel serves as an interactive and engaging platform for teaching Arabic; 2) three primary methods are utilized for vocabulary instruction—singing, mimicry memorization, and matching exercises; and 3) the video content employs the mimicry memorization method, which is particularly effective in enhancing learners' vocabulary mastery. These insights highlight the potential of innovative and engaging multimedia approaches in Arabic language education.

Abstract

Kemunculan virus corona memberikan dampak kepada selebgram atau influencer untuk selalu kreatif dalam memberikan pengetahuan dan informasi atau membuat hal baru menggunakan platform media sosial Instagram, sehingga banyak upaya-upaya dan ide yang muncul dan dilakukan oleh para selebgram ini. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan peran selebriti instagram (selebgram) dalam kampanye edukasi Covid-19 di platform media sosial Instagram pada masa pandemik. Metode yang digunakan adalah jenis pendekatan kualitatif metode studi kasus. Adapun, sumber data diperoleh melalui artikel jurnal ilmiah, berita, video, dan gambr yang berkaitan dengan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat banyak cara yang dilakukan oleh beberapa selebgram untuk mengedukasi para pengikutnya tentang bahaya virus corona dan cara pencegahannya agar terhindar dari virus ini. Diantara tiga selebgram yang memiliki peran besar dalam mengedukasi masyarakat atau para pengikut instagram, diantaranya adalah selebgram atau pengusaha muda Awkarin, selebgram atau entrepreneur muda Rachel Vennya dan dokter gaul sekaligus relawan Covid-19 yaitu Dr. Tirta.

Abstract

The focus of this article is to find out an overview of the applying kitab 'Abbir Lughataka! based on a communicative approach in muhādatsah usbū'iyyah activities at the Daarul Uluum Bogor Islamic Boarding School and identifying its impact on improving students' speaking skills. The subject of this study is a 9th-grade student of madrasah Tsanawiyah Islamic boarding school Daarul Uluum Bogor using the muhadatsah guidebook 'Abbir Lughataka! Based on a communicative approach in muhādatsah usbū'iyyah activities. The research used in this paper is a descriptive qualitative approach with field research where data is collected through observation and interviews. Then in analyzing the data, qualitative descriptive analysis is used which includes several stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study concluded that from the results of the implementation of the muhadatsah guidebook 'Abbir Lughataka! based on a communicative approach to grade 9 students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Daarul Uluum Islamic Boarding School Bogor in the activities of the muhādatsah usbū'iyyah program, has proven to have a positive impact on improving the speaking skills (maharah kalam) of students. This is evidenced by the results of an evaluation test trial through an oral exam (ikhtibār syafahiy) to measure the Arabic speaking skills of students after learning for approximately four weeks.   Keywords: Guidebook, Muhadatsah, Communicative Approach, Maharah Kalam

Abstract

Kemampuan membaca dalam bahasa Arab merupakan salah satu keterampilan penting yang perlu dikuasai oleh santri, khususnya di lingkungan pesantren. Di balik keberhasilan dalam memahami teks berbahasa Arab, terdapat faktor motivasi belajar yang berperan besar dalam mendorong keaktifan dan kemandirian santri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana motivasi belajar memengaruhi keterampilan membaca santri Ma’had Darul Hikmah Malang. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian dipilih secara purposive sampling berdasarkan tingkat motivasi dan keaktifan mereka dalam pembelajaran membaca bahasa Arab. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan mengelompokkan temuan untuk melihat pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap keterampilan membaca. Validitas data dijaga melalui triangulasi sumber, teknik, dan waktu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar memainkan peran yang sangat penting dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca bahasa Arab. Santri dengan motivasi tinggi lebih aktif dalam proses pembelajaran dan memiliki pemahaman yang lebih baik terhadap teks berbahasa Arab dibandingkan dengan santri yang kurang termotivasi. Faktor yang memengaruhi motivasi belajar meliputi faktor internal, seperti minat terhadap bahasa Arab, cita-cita akademik, kepercayaan diri, dan kemandirian belajar sangat memengaruhi tingkat motivasi belajar santri. Sedangkan faktor eksternal, seperti lingkungan belajar yang mendukung, metode pengajaran yang interaktif, dukungan dari guru dan teman sebaya, serta peran keluarga.
