Abstract

Training on making teaching modules based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) is an effort to improve teacher competence in compiling innovative learning tools that are relevant to the needs of 21st century students. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the training at SMPIT Anak Soleh Mataram. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, involving 15 teachers as participants. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and interviews to measure the level of participant satisfaction and the effectiveness of the training. The results showed that this training received a very positive response from the participants. Based on the questionnaire, the majority of teachers expressed high satisfaction with the quality of the material, delivery methods, and facilitator performance. In addition, all participants succeeded in compiling teaching modules based on PjBL well after participating in the training. In-depth interviews revealed that the training helped teachers understand the principles and steps of implementing PjBL, although some participants identified challenges in implementing the modules in the classroom, such as time management and student involvement. Overall, this training was effective in improving teacher competence in compiling teaching modules based on PjBL. This study recommends further training and implementation assistance to ensure the sustainability of its impact in the learning environment.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the evolutionary trajectory of the Sasak language using a historical approach and the language evolution theory developed by Schleicher. This theory depicts languages as entities undergoing evolution similar to biological organisms, evolving from simple forms to complex forms through natural selection. To achieve this, the research methodology includes literature review, primary data collection, historical analysis, and an examination of the development of the Sasak language within the contexts of social, educational, and modern media environments. Consequently, this article utilizes Schleicher’s tree diagram to illustrate the genetic relationships and linguistic changes within the Sasak language on Lombok Island. The implications of this research provide a deeper understanding of the evolution of the Sasak language and the factors influencing it.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a novel and practical syllabus for the Integrated Course subject designed explicitly for English Education Department students at IAIN Ponorogo. Using Borg and Gall's Research and Development (R&D) model, the research followed a systematic approach that included needs analysis, planning, prototype development, expert validation, product trials, and finalization. A key innovation in this syllabus is its integration of three distinct syllabus types: competency-based, content-based, and task-based. The syllabus includes 14 carefully sequenced topics, progressing from the simplest to the most complex, covering essential Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing areas. Offered as an 8-credit course with four meeting hours per week, it incorporates active and cooperative learning methods, emphasizing student-centered instruction. Another novel feature is the use of varied instructional media—audio, visual, and audio-visual materials—that connect students' prior experiences with the course content, making learning more dynamic and relatable. Assessment in the syllabus is comprehensive, combining both product and process evaluations to provide a well-rounded measurement of student progress. Expert validation and field testing confirmed that the final product is practical and highly applicable for the first-semester English Education students at IAIN Ponorogo, offering a tailored and impactful learning experience.
