Abstract

This research is based on differences in the variety of languages ​​of women and men in society. The research is focused on the taboo language used by women in written form on the Instagram social network. The use of taboo language by men is more accepted in society. The formulation of the premise of this study is to determine the forms of female taboo expressions on Instagram. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that is based on the use of taboo language on Instagram. The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of taboo expressions written by women on Instagram. The process of data collection was done by referring to the record anddocumentation method. Data were analyzed using taboo theory according to Wijana (2006) and Timothy Jay (1996). The results of the analysis showed that women use taboo language expressions which are vulgar, sexually harassing, name-calling and insulting.

Abstract

Abstrak: Latar belakang penelitian ini mengacu pada peringkat literasi masyarakat Indonesia berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh PISA (Program untuk Penilaian Siswa Internasional) pada tahun 2019 yang belum meningkat secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan tahun sebelumnya. Sementara itu, pemerintah Indonesia telah melakukan program peningkatan literasi, terutama di sekolah dasar dan menengah. Selain itu, belum banyak penelitian tentang literasi membaca di Indonesia, khususnya di daerah Nusa Tenggara Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi masalah literasi membaca yang dihadapi oleh siswa di SMAN 1 Aikmel, Lombok Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan menggunakan studi kasus sebagai metode penelitian. Informan penelitian ini adalah guru sekolah, siswa, dan staf perpustakaan di lokasi penelitian. Tindakan, pernyataan, dan dokumentasi peserta yang terkait dengan masalah literasi membaca digunakan sebagai sumber data. Observasi dilakukan untuk mengetahui kondisi dan implementasi program GLS di sekolah. Temuan dari pengamatan kemudian diklarifikasi dengan mewawancarai kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, dan pegawai sekolah yang berhubungan dengan kegiatan GLS di sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada empat masalah literasi yang dihadapi oleh siswa sekolah menengah dalam literasi membaca, yaitu (1) kurangnya minat siswa dalam membaca buku nonpelajaran, (2) kurangnya ketersediaan bahan bacaan selain buku pelajaran, (3) lingkungan membaca yang kurang kondusif dan mendukung, serta (4) keterbatasan dalam menerapkan program GLS. Abstract:  The background of this research was carried out referring to the literacy ranking of the Indonesian people based on the results of research conducted by PISA (Program for the Assessment of International Students) in 2019 which had not increased significantly compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the Indonesian government has carried out literacy improvement programs, especially in primary and secondary schools. In addition, there has not been much research on reading literacy in Indonesia, especially in the West Nusa Tenggara region. This study aims to identify reading literacy problems faced by students in SMAN 1 Aikmel , Lombok East, West Nusa Tenggara. This research design uses a qualitative approach and uses case studies as a research method. The informants for this research were school teachers, students, and library staff at the research location. Participants' actions, statements, and documentation related to the problem literacy  reading was used as a data source. Observations were made to determine the condition and implementation of the program GLS at school. Findings from observations were then clarified by interviewing head  school, teacher, student , and  employee  school which relate  with  activity GLS in school . The results of the study show that there are four literacy problems faced by middle school students literacy  reading, namely (1) lack of  students' interest in reading  book  non-lessons, (2) lack of  availability of reading material  besides  book  lesson, (3) reading environment which not enough  conducive  and  support, and (4) limitations in implementing the program GLS.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat baca masyarakat Indonesia. Salah satu alasan rendahnya minat baca tersebut adalah keterbatasan bahan bacaan. Namun, seiring perkembangan teknologi, upaya untuk mengatasi keterbatasan bahan bacaan ini adalah dengan diadakannya bahan bacaan dalam bentuk digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah keberadaan buku digital ini telah menggeser minat baca menggunakan buku cetak. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga membahas alasan pemilihan bentuk bacaan, genre bacaan yang diminati, dan teknik membaca yang digunakan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner dan wawancara. Data dianalisis dengan menggabungkan analisis isi kualitatif dan kuantitatif sederhana. Temuan utama penelitian ini adalah kemudahan akses buku digital tidak serta-merta menjadikan buku digital lebih diminati. Temuan-temuan lainnya yaitu kurangnya minat mahasiswa dalam membaca buku pelajaran, membaca intensif lebih sering dilakukan dibandingkan membaca ekstensif, serta alasan memilih buku digital antara lain yaitu a) lebih ekonomis karena tidak perlu membeli buku cetak yang harganya relatif mahal, b) lebih praktis dan mudah dibawa, c) ramah lingkungan karena memerlukan lembaran kertas, dan d) tampilan lebih menarik, sedangkan alasan memilih buku cetak antara lain karena a) membaca buku digital pada gadget membuat mata lelah b) tidak mudah terdistraksi , dan c) lebih personal karena merasa memiliki. Abstract: This research is conducted as the concern of th high interest on digital books that easily accessed as one of the attempt to overcome limited reading materials. Based on this issue, this research aims to; discover the comparison between printed and digital books ; the reason of preferred kind of literature, preferred genre of literature, and the reading techniques that mostly used. This case study used qualitative method as the research design.  Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires and interviews. Data were analyzed by combining simple qualitative and quantitative content analysis.  Data is presented in the form of a diagram containing numbers explained in descriptive text.  The results of the research show that there are several findings.  The main finding is that the ease of access to digital books does not necessarily make digital books more desirable.  Other findings are the lack of interest of students in reading textbooks (non-fiction), intensive reading is more often done than extensive reading, and the reasons for choosing digital books include; a) more economical because there is no need to buy printed books which are relatively expensive; b)  more practical and easy to carry; c) environmentally friendly because it requires sheets of paper; and d) the appearance is more attractive. Furthermore, the reasons for choosing printed books include; a) reading digital books on gadgets makes the eyes tired (the influence of cellphone light); b) not easily distracted (the presence of notifications on the device disrupts reading activities; and c) the personal sense of belonging, they personally own the book.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Literasi merupakan salah satu elemen penting dalam menunjang perubahan sistem kehidupan manusia, terutama anak-anak, dalam rangka mempersiapkan kehidupan yang lebih baik. Adanya ketersediaan bahan bacaan, terutama dalam bentuk buku-buku yang relevan dengan usia perkembangan anak-anak merupakan salah satu media yang mampu menunjang perubahan masyarakat agar menjadi manusia yang literat. Seiring perkembangan zaman, terutama dengan adanya arus digitalisasi, memberikan indikasi bagi masyarakat agar memiliki pemahaman tentang konsep literasi pada ranah digital. Namun minimnya ketersediaan buku-buku bacaan tentang literasi, terutama literasi digital, membuat masyarakat kurang memiliki pemahaman tentang konsep tersebut. Masyarakat modern, terutama anak-anak, lebih cenderung memanfaatkan alat digital untuk hal-hal yang kurang bermanfaat bagi kehidupannya. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menjelaskan prosedur sosialisasi literasi digital di komunitas baca Lumbung Literasidan; (2) menjelaskan kendala yang ditemukan dalam kegiatan sosialisasi literasi digital di komunitas baca Lumbung Literasi. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan secara luring (tatap muka) dengan fokus sasaran yaitu anak-anak jenjang SD dan SMP yang seringkali mengunjungi komunitas baca Lumbung Literasi di Dusun Selojan, Desa Karang Sidemen, Kecamatan Batukliang Utara, dengan jumlah 24 (dua puluh empat) orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu ceramah, demonstrasi, dan diskusi. Terdapat tiga hasil dari pengabdian ini, yaitu kegiatan ini berlangsung baik, dapat memberikan wawasan kepada peserta tentang literasi digital, dan memberikan wawasan kepada peserta untuk dapat memanfaatkan peralatan digital dengan bijaksana. ABSTRACT Literacy is an important element in supporting changes in the human life system, especially children, in order to prepare for a better life. The availability of reading materials, especially in the form of books that are relevant to the age of children's development is one of the media that can support changes in society so that they become literate human beings. Along with the times, especially with the current digitalization, it gives an indication for the public to have an understanding of the concept of literacy in the digital realm. However, the lack of availability of reading books on literacy, especially digital literacy, makes people lack an understanding of this concept. Modern society, especially children, tend to use digital tools for things that are less useful for their lives.explain the procedures for disseminating digital literacy in the reading community LiterasiLumbung and (2) explain the obstacles found in digital literacy socialization activities in the Lumbung Literasi reading community. This P2M activity was carried out offline (face to face) with a target focus on elementary and junior high school level children who often visited the Literacy Barn reading community in Selojan Hamlet, Karang Sidemen Village, North Batukliang District, with a total of 24 (twenty four) people. The methods used in this activity are lectures, demonstrations and discussions. There are three results from this dedication, namely this activity went well, was able to provide insight to participants about digital literacy, and provided insight to participants to be able to use digital equipment wisely.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the emergence of various names of places in the Mataram city area with names in foreign languages. On the one hand, the use of foreign languages aims to make it easier for foreign immigrants to understand places in Indonesia, but on the other hand, the use of foreign languages in the public sphere, in the form of advertising and promotion of goods and services, is under the pull of globalization/internationalization interests. Prestige or a sense of pride in using a foreign language is an interesting aspect to study further. This research aims to record the use of language in naming tourist and culinary attractions in the city of Mataram and see the dominance of language. Data was collected using the documentation method, then the data was analyzed using the content analysis method which includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Data is presented in the form of tables, diagrams and narrative text. Based on the results of the analysis, two linguistic features were found in naming places, namely monolingual and bilingual. The monolingual feature is divided into 57 foreign languages, 47 Indonesian languages, and 9 regional languages. Meanwhile, the form of the bilingual feature is divided into two, namely a combination of foreign languages and regional languages with 13 data and a combination of foreign language and Indonesian with 3 data.

Abstract

Abstrak: Bahan ajar Mata Kuliah Wajib Kurikulm (MKWK) bahasa Indonesia dari beberapa penerbit memiliki variasi dan kedalaman serta keluasan materi yang berbeda, meskipun kompetensi yang ditetapkan sama. Hal tersebut mengimplikasikan ketidakpaduan pada proses ketercapaian atau keterbacaan materi demi mencapai kompetensi yang telah ditentukan. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan merumuskan struktur materi dan bahan kajian MKWK bahasa Indonesia di perguruan tinggi. Rumusan struktur materi dan bahan kajian tersebut diperoleh berdasarkan pembandingan seluruh buku ajar MKWK bahasa Indonesia yang ada, baik cetak maupun digital. Irisan dari materi dan bahan kajian itulah yang dijadikan sebagai rekomendasi struktur materi MKWK bahasa Indonesia di perguruan tinggi yang representatif, yaitu dapat mewakili amanah substansi kajian yang telah digariskan dalam Pedoman Pelaksanaan Mata Kuliah Wajib pada Kurikulum Pendidikan Tinggi, kebutuhan mahasiswa dan dosen, serta kebutuhan dunia usaha dan dunia industri. Penelitian ini menggunakan model studi Pustaka dengan Teknik pengumpulan data berupa dokumen buku ajar MKWK bahasa Indonesia dari berbagai penerbit secara cetak dan digital. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode kontrastif, yaitu pembandingan dan penentuan irisan materi dari berbagai buku ajar. Pada tahapan penyajian hasil penganalisisan data, digunakan metode informal, yaitu menjelaskan pemaparan perbedaan dari irisan materi yang ditelaah untuk memberikan rekomendasi penyusunan bahan ajar yang representatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat irisan materi dari keseluruhan buku ajar yang diperbandingkan yang mencakup kelompok materi kaidah kebahasaan, kelompok materi notasi ilmiah, kelompok materi wacana, kelompok materi kebahasaan, kelompok materi pengayaan bahasa Indonesia, dan kelompok materi wacana yang mencakup keterampilan menyimak, membaca, berbicara, dan menulis. Keterampilan menulis memiliki porsi yang paling tinggi, namun kurang dari sisi pemahaman mengenai aspek dasar kebahasaan. Selain itu, keterampilan berbicara tidak secara lugas dijelaskan karena keterampilan tersebut penting untuk mengasah kegiatan presentasi mahasiswa dalam kegiatan akademik. Oleh karena itu, diharapkan rekomendasi berupa bahan ajar MKWK harus memuat semua kompetensi dalam amanat kurikulum yang disesuaikan dengan tingkat bahan ajar yang mudah dipahami dan merangsang pengembangan kompetensi berbahasa mahasiswa. Abstract: Teaching materials for Mata Kuliah Wajib Kurikulum (MKWK) from several publishers have different variations and depth and breadth of material, even though the competencies determined are the same. This implies an incoherence in the process of achieving or reading the material in order to achieve the specified competency. This research aims to formulate the structure of Indonesian MKWK material and study materials in higher education. The formulation of the material structure and study materials was obtained based on a comparison of all existing MKWK Indonesian  language textbooks, both print and digital. Slices of material and study material are used as recommendations for the structure of Indonesian language MKWK material in representative universities, that is, they can represent the mandate of the study substance that has been outlined in the guidelines for implementing higher education curriculum, the needs of students and lecturers, as well as world needs. business and industrial world. This research uses a library study model with data collection techniques in the form of Indonesian MKWK textbook documents from various print and digital publishers. The data analysis technique uses a contrastive method, namely comparing and determining sections of material from various textbooks. At the stage of presenting the results of data analysis, an informal method is used, namely explaining the differences between the sections of material studied to provide recommendations for preparing representative teaching materials. The results of the research show that there are sections of material from all the compared textbooks which include the linguistic rules material group, the scientific notation material group, the discourse material group, the linguistic material group, the Indonesian language enrichment material group, and the discourse material group which includes listening, reading and learning skills. speaking, and writing. Writing skills have the highest portion, but understanding of basic aspects of language is lacking. Apart from that, speaking skills are not specifically explained even though these skills are important to shape students' presentation skills in academic activities. Therefore, it is hoped that recommendations in the form of MKWK teaching materials must contain all the competencies in the curriculum mandate that are adjusted to the level of teaching materials that are easy to understand and stimulate the development of students' language competencies.

Abstract

Portal berita daring maupun cetak di kota Mataram biasanya banyak menampilkan berita straigh (cepat) yang kurang menarik untuk dibaca, khususnya dalam jangka panjang. Maraknya penulisan berita straight tersebut salah satunya ditengarai oleh kurangnya kemampuan para wartawan dalam menulis jenis berita yang lain. Salah satu solusi dari permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan diadakannya pelatihan penulisan berita feature untuk para calon insan pers di kota Mataram. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan dan membimbing para calon wartawan agar mampu menulis berita feature yang relatif tidak cepat basi. Kegiatan ini melibatkan lebih dari lima puluh calon insan pers yang ada di Kota Mataram. Metode kegiatan ini dimulai dari persiapan pelatihan, pemberian materi, dan bedah tulisan feature beberapa peserta pelatihan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peserta sudah mampu mendapatkan isu tulisan yang menarik, tetapi masih terdapat kekurangan dari segi penyampaian dan gaya bahasa berita feature yang ditulis.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the evolutionary trajectory of the Sasak language using a historical approach and the language evolution theory developed by Schleicher. This theory depicts languages as entities undergoing evolution similar to biological organisms, evolving from simple forms to complex forms through natural selection. To achieve this, the research methodology includes literature review, primary data collection, historical analysis, and an examination of the development of the Sasak language within the contexts of social, educational, and modern media environments. Consequently, this article utilizes Schleicher’s tree diagram to illustrate the genetic relationships and linguistic changes within the Sasak language on Lombok Island. The implications of this research provide a deeper understanding of the evolution of the Sasak language and the factors influencing it.

Abstract

This research is motivated by differences in the language varieties of women and men in society. The difference focused on in this research is the swearing expressions used by female users on Instagram. Society's views and language theories related to gender show that the use of swear words by men can be considered normal, whereas it is very bad if used by women. The problem to be answered in this research is the function and reasons for the expression of swear words in women's writing on Instagram accounts. The target of this research was 115 quotes (status and comments) written by female Instagram users. The theory used to study the function of swear expressions is Anderson and Trudgill's theory. Data was collected using observation and documentation methods. Data were analyzed using the content analysis method which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data is presented in the form of tables and narrative text. Based on the results of the analysis, the functions of swear expressions found were expletive function, humorous function and auxiliary function. Other findings are the reasons for the use of swearing expressions by women on Instagram, namely 1) swearing is seen as the most effective way to express feelings of dislike, anger, disgust, disappointment, etc. towards the physique or actions of celebrities seen through Instagram social media accounts, 2) social media is a forum for indirect communication, so that communication activities are carried out remotely, the speaker and the interlocutor do not meet face to face, do not interact face to face, do not even know each other or have met before, this condition causes women to dare to write harsh words because they think they will not meet so there is no need to feel guilty, and 3) there are examples of public figures or celebrities who are accustomed to using swear words on the basis of freedom of expression

Abstract

Materi penulisan puisi yang disampaikan secara monoton di lingkungan sekolah sering kali menimbulkan kejenuhan bagi siswa. Penyajian yang bersifat konvensional, tanpa dukungan media pembelajaran yang menarik, membuat siswa kurang termotivasi untuk mengembangkan kemampuan kreatif mereka dalam menulis puisi. Dalam konteks ini, pemanfaatan media digital menjadi salah satu alternatif strategis untuk mengatasi kebosanan dalam proses pembelajaran sastra, khususnya pada materi penulisan puisi. Media pembelajaran digital merupakan inovasi teknologi yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam dunia pendidikan untuk mendukung kegiatan belajar mengajar. Melalui media ini, guru dan siswa dapat berinteraksi dengan materi pembelajaran secara lebih menarik, kreatif, dan interaktif, sehingga proses belajar menjadi lebih menyenangkan dan efektif. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMK Kabupaten Lombok Tengah dalam merancang media pembelajaran yang menarik untuk materi penulisan puisi. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah metode ceramah, diskusi, dan penugasan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMKN 1 Batukliang yang dihadiri oleh guru-guru Bahasa Indonesia sebanyak 25 orang. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah para guru 1) memahami konsep puisi digital, 2) mampu merancang tugas proyek untuk pembuatan media digital pada materi penulisan puisi, dan 3) mengetahui cara membuat puisi digital dengan menggunakan beberapa aplikasi yang telah diajarkan. Untuk selanjutnya, disarankan pembelajaran penulisan puisi tidak lagi monoton dan membosankan bagi para peserta didik.
