Abstract

Family is the main pillar of mental health’. It is undeniable that various mental health problems originate from family factors, such as depression, suicidal ideation, and personality disorders. We found that there was a poor quality of relationships between parents and children that triggered prolonged psychological conflict. So, the need for psychoeducation on the role of parents in child development among marginalised communities emerged. The purpose of this service is to increase awareness of the importance of the quality of parenting psychologically in marginalized families in Semarang City. The method of service carried out is psychoeducation and support groups. The participants of this service were 34 people. The implementation of the service was divided into two. First, parenting psychoeducation. The second activity was a support group on the role and importance of the quality of the relationship between parents and children. Case cards were used during the discussion in the group, this instrument helped the discussion without removing the opportunity to convey their experiences in the family authentically. The evaluation was done qualitatively. From this activity, it was found that there was a transfer of learning in simple knowledge and skills, while beliefs were difficult to change, such as that children should be physically punished when parents are angry. This is a finding that can be explored further in research or work with families.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the results of the differences between liquid nail glue and gel nail glue based on the effectiveness of their use. The method used was direct observation by conducting experiments on several commercial products, accompanied by simple testing on the ease of application, adhesion, and durability of the results of use in four female participants. The results showed that although liquid nail glue has a smaller packaging and a thinner texture making it easy to apply, its adhesion tends to be lower and less durable. In contrast, gel nail glue that is generally packaged in larger containers with a thicker consistency has been shown to provide stronger adhesion as well as higher resistance to the nails. This study aims to analyze the difference between liquid nail glue and gel nail glue in its application to gel press-on nails, by reviewing the packaging shape, product size, and adhesion effectiveness. This research is simple experimental/comparative. Observations were made through direct application tests using several types of press-on nails. The results show that liquid glue, although easy to apply, tends to be less stable on the surface of the press-on gel and comes off more quickly. In contrast, gel nail glue with its thick texture provides stronger adhesion and is able to maintain press-on nails longer, even at intensive daily activities. Therefore, gel glue is considered much more effective and is recommended as the main choice for gel press-on nail installation.

Abstract

The development of information technology and social media has driven changes in the learning process in higher education, including the use of more flexible and easily accessible learning media for students. Social media allows the presentation of learning materials in various formats, such as video and non-video media, which can support the learning process, particularly in practical courses such as basic hairdressing. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using social media as a learning medium in basic hairdressing courses. The study used a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest design. The research instrument was an objective test whose validity and reliability were tested, with an item correlation value of 0.514 and a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.947 for the pretest and 0.933 for the posttest. Data analysis was performed by calculating the average value and gain score. The results showed that video media achieved a gain score of 50, while non-video media achieved a gain score of 72.67. Thus, the use of social media as a learning medium is effective in improving student learning outcomes, with non-video media demonstrating higher effectiveness.
