Abstract

Socioscientific issues in biotechnology are an educational context that can be implemented in the classroom. Teaching socioscientific issues in biotechnology can develop students' argumentation and critical thinking skills. Examples of socioscientific issues in biotechnology include the production of insulin from animal (pig) pancreases, cloning, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). One way to teach socioscientific issues in biotechnology is through the debate method. This study employs a systematic review method to examine the implementation of the debate method on socioscientific issues in biotechnology. Technological innovations in teaching that can be utilized include the Padlet platform for visualizing ideas and debate concepts and Voice Typing technology to support the learning process through the debate method. The review results indicate that implementing the debate method on socioscientific issues in biotechnology with the assistance of Padlet and Voice Typing technology can be a technological innovation in teaching methods. Abstrak. Isu sosiosaintifik pada materi bioteknologi merupakan salah satu konteks pembelajaran yang dapat diimplementasikan di dalam kelas. Pembelajaran yang mengangkat isu sosiosaintifik pada materi bioteknologi dapat mengembangkan keterampilan literasi sains pada siswa. Beberapa contoh isu sosiosaintifik pada materi bioteknologi adalah isu produksi insulin dari pankreas hewan (babi), kloning, dan tanaman transgenik atau genetically modified organism (GMO). Salah satu cara membelajarkan isu sosiosaintifik pada materi bioteknologi adalah menggunakan metode debat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode systematic review yang mengkaji implementasi metode debat pada isu sosiosaintifik materi bioteknologi. Adapun inovasi pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang dapat digunakan adalah platform Padlet sebagai media visualisasi ide dan gagasan debat, serta teknologi Voice Typing untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran dengan metode debat. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode debat yang dibantu platform Padlet dan teknologi Voice Typing dapat menjadi salah satu inovasi metode pembelajaran berbasis teknologi untuk mengajarkan isu sosiosaintifik materi bioteknologi.

Abstract

The pandemic has changed many aspects in all areas of life, especially in the world of education. Learning during this pandemic makes the learning and teaching process online (in the network). This requires a learning innovation with an online contextual approach. One of the innovations is the contextual learning approach through the google site, which is expected that students can relate concepts about climate change to real life, even though learning is carried out online. One example of material that must be explained in accordance with real conditions in the surrounding environment is climate change material. Students are required to be able to solve problems and find understanding and ideas from what is learned and then construct their knowledge. The research method used is experimental with pre-experimental design and the type of research is one group pretest-posttest. The subjects in this study were class IX SMP in Bandung City for the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year, because each class in the school has the same characteristics, therefore the sample was taken by simple random sampling. The test instrument selected was a description test, totaling 12 questions to measure students' critical thinking skills. This description test is given to students before and after learning activities. The test instrument was tested first to students who had studied the material on climate change. After the trial, instrument analysis was carried out which aims to determine the feasibility of the research instrument. The analysis used is validity test and reliability test. Abstrak. Pandemi telah mengubah banyak aspek di segala bidang kehidupan, terutama di dunia pendidikan. Pembelajaran di masa pandemi ini menjadikan proses belajar mengajar secara online (dalam jaringan). Untuk itu diperlukan suatu inovasi pembelajaran dengan pendekatan kontekstual secara online. Salah satu inovasinya adalah pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual melalui situs google, yang diharapkan siswa dapat menghubungkan konsep-konsep tentang perubahan iklim dengan kehidupan nyata, meskipun pembelajaran dilakukan secara online. Salah satu contoh materi yang harus dijelaskan sesuai dengan kondisi nyata di lingkungan sekitar adalah materi perubahan iklim. Siswa dituntut untuk mampu memecahkan masalah dan menemukan pemahaman dan gagasan dari apa yang dipelajari kemudian mengkonstruksi pengetahuannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain pre-experimental design dan jenis penelitiannya adalah one group pretest-posttest. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP di Kota Bandung semester genap tahun ajaran 2020/2021, karena setiap kelas di sekolah tersebut memiliki karakteristik yang sama, maka dari itu sampel diambil secara simple random sampling. Instrumen tes yang dipilih adalah tes deskripsi yang berjumlah 12 soal untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Tes deskripsi ini diberikan kepada siswa sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan pembelajaran. Instrumen tes diujicobakan terlebih dahulu kepada siswa yang telah mempelajari materi tentang perubahan iklim. Setelah uji coba, dilakukan analisis instrumen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan instrumen penelitian. Analisis yang digunakan adalah uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas.

Abstract

The introduction of Education for Sustainable Developmnet can be effectively incorporated into co-curricular activities within schools through the Strengthening Project for Pancasila Student Profiles (P5). This research aims to provide a depiction of P5 implementation integrated with ESD as a means of fostering sustainable lifestyles among stundents. Employing a literature review methodology, this study analyzes relevant articles published within the last six years. The analysis reveals that a phased approach to implementing P5, focusing on the theme of sustainable Lifestyle, is necessary to enable students to adopt sustainable living practices aligned with the Sustainable Developmnet Goals Abstrak. Pengenalan ESD dapat diperkenalkan melalui kegiatan kokurikuler di sekolah melalui projek penguatan profile pelajar pancasila atau yang disebut dengan P5. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan gambar pelaksanaan P5 terintegrasi ESD sebagai upaya menumbuhkan gaya hidup berkelanjutan pada siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode study literature review dengan mengumpulkan data artikel yang relevan selama 6 tahun terakhir . Berdasarkan analisis artikel yang dilakukan, diperlukan tahapan pelaksanaan P5 pada tema Gaya Hidup Berkelanjutan sehingga dapat menjadi upaya bagi siswa untuk membiasakan diri pada kondisi hidup berkelanjutan yang sesuai dengan poin SDGs.

Abstract

Fish farming is one of the crucial sectors in supporting food security and the community's economy. However, one of the primary challenges faced by fish farmers is managing feed distribution efficiently and on time. This study aims to design and develop an automated fish feeding control system for cultivation ponds. The system is designed using a microcontroller as the central controller, equipped with a timer sensor and a motor to distribute feed according to a predefined schedule. Testing was conducted to measure the accuracy of feed distribution, the system's reliability under various environmental conditions, and its impact on fish growth. The results show that the developed system can provide feed automatically and consistently based on the set schedule, with a very low error rate in feed distribution. Additionally, the system improves feed utilization efficiency and minimizes waste, contributing to reduced operational costs. This automated control system is expected to be an effective solution to support fish farming activities, enhance productivity, and promote the adoption of technology in the aquaculture sector

Abstract

The characteristics of students who are literate with advances in digital technology encourage the integration of technology in biology learning. The inquiry learning model is one of the models that can facilitate the integration of learning with technology. The purpose of this research is to innovate technology-based learning in the guided inquiry learning model with the subject matter of environmental change. The research was conducted using the literature review method in order to collect and evaluate previous studies with the intention and purpose of presenting theories that are relevant to the problems and topics being studied through Google Scholar, SINTA and Scopus. The results of this study are in the form of technology that is innovated in the guided inquiry learning model consisting of PPT, LCD, Projector, Liveworksheet, Smartphone, PC / Computer, Breezo meter, Sound Level Meter, Thermometer Smartphone and Splint Bottle. The integration of technology in biology learning with the guided inquiry model is expected to increase the effectiveness as well as the benefits and meaning of learning biology. abstrak. Karakteristik siswa yang melek dengan kemajuan teknologi digital mendorong adanya integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran biologi. Model pembelajaran inkuiri merupakan salah satu model yang dapat memfasilitasi integrasi pembelajaran dengan teknologi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan inovasi pembelajaran berbasis teknologi pada model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dengan pokok materi perubahan lingkungan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kajian literatur dalam rangka mengumpulkan serta mengevaluasi penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya dengan maksud dan tujuan untuk menyajikan teori-teori yang relevan dengan permasalahan dan topik yang sedang dikaji melalui Google Scholar, SINTA dan Scopus. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa teknologi yang diinovasikan dalam model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang terdiri atasĀ  PPT, LCD , Proyektor, Liveworksheet, Smartphone, PC / Komputer, Breezo meter, Sound Level Meter, Thermometer Smartphone dan Botol Beling. Integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran biologi dengan model inkuiri terbimbing diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efektivitas serta manfaat dan makna dari pembelajaran biologi.
