Abstract

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in rural areas face significant challenges in product innovation and quality consistency. This community empowerment program aimed to enhance the capacity of UMKM actors in Nekmese Village, South Amarasi District, Kupang Regency, through training in local food production, specifically developing chocolate and strawberry variants of banana chips. The method employed a participatory approach with experiential learning involving 34 UMKM actors (17 women and 17 men, aged 18-36 years). The training covered banana selection techniques, optimal frying temperature control (160-170°C), coating application methods, and sanitation standards. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test evaluations, direct observation, and interviews. Results showed significant improvements: knowledge scores increased by 93.5% (from 45.3 to 87.6), production capacity rose by 87.5% (from 8 kg to 15 kg per week), and product selling price increased by 67% (from IDR 15,000 to IDR 25,000 per 200g package). Quality consistency reached 90% compared to 45% previously, while weekly sales volume increased by 80% (from 25 to 45 packages). The program successfully achieved product diversification, enhanced technical skills, and improved economic impact for UMKM actors. Sustainable follow-up programs focusing on digital marketing training, cooperative formation, and continued technical assistance are recommended to maintain long-term development and competitive advantage in regional markets.

Abstract

The root of corruption lies in fostering an understanding of anti-corruption behaviour among students, which requires an understanding and application of anti-corruption values and principles from an early age. This issue is closely related to social control in educational and community environments, which forms the basis for prevention strategies. The younger generation is the nation's most valuable asset that will shape the future of Indonesia. This community service aims to instil the values of honesty, integrity, and social responsibility in students of SMP Negeri 3-SATAP Amarasi Selatan, as the nation's next generation, so that they develop a strong awareness of the dangers of corruption and cultivate anti-corruption attitudes from an early age. In addition, this activity aims to increase students' understanding of various forms of corruption in the school and community environment, as well as to shape characters who actively prevent and fight corrupt practices. The methods applied in this community service activity involve observation and learning through social interaction. The results of the study indicate that anti-corruption education with interactive educational methods such as presentations, group discussions, case simulations, and quizzes effectively increases students' understanding and commitment to the values of honesty, integrity, and social responsibility. It can be concluded that anti-corruption education is very important to be instilled in junior high school students from an early age. A follow-up to this activity is the importance of continuously integrating anti-corruption education into the school curriculum and extracurricular activities. Furthermore, teacher training is needed to reinforce integrity materials in teaching. Parental and community involvement is also crucial in supporting the development of children's character, free from the influence of corruption.

Abstract

Illegal migrant workers remain a major challenge, especially in areas with high migration rates such as East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Service Center (BP3MI) of NTT Province, as the spearhead of PMI protection in the region, faces multidimensional challenges in addressing this issue. Some of those challenges are limited resources, a lack of public awareness, and weak law enforcement against syndicates that facilitate illegal migration. This research uses a qualitative approach, with data gathered by interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the strategy theory by Fred R. David, there are three stages in obtaining BP3MI-NTT’s goal in reducing the number of illegal migrant worker issues, such as policy formulation, policy implementation, and policy evaluation. Results show that besides three stages of policy strategies, BP3MI has performed unique strategies in influencing people to become legal migrant workers, such as using church pulpit messages, as well as building collaboration with various parties. Despite three stages of policy strategies that have been implemented by BP3MI-NTT, this research also finds that up until the end of 2025, the number of illegal migrant worker issues is still high (588 cases). Even though BP3MI of NTT Province is still not reaching its overall goals, these three strategies show that the institution is moving forward to reduce the number of illegal migrant worker issues in NTT.

Abstract

The study formulates a marine management model based on local wisdom to increase the use of animal protein and improve the nutritional status of children in East Flores Regency. Although this region has abundant marine resource potential, children’s animal protein consumption remains low due to sub-optimal distribution of catches and limited nutritional education. A mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design was used, involving 120 fishing households as a sample. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the distribution of catch for family consumption (β = 0,421; p < 0,01), frequency of fish consumption (β = 0,365; p < 0,05), and processed seafood diversification (β = 0,287; p < 0,05) had a significant effect on children’s nutritional status. Qualitative findings emphasize the importance of integrating local wisdom, strengthening traditional institutions, and community-based nutrition education. The developed model integrates catch distribution management, nutrition education, and marine product diversification, thereby bridging the marine and health sectors. This research also provides theoretical contributions to the development of community-based coastal governance and practical contributions to local policies to improve child nutrition quality.
