Abstract

This study aims to investigate the implementation of Value-Based Leadership (VBL) in selected Islamic higher educational institutions in North Sumatera, Indonesia. Despite the growing emphasis on leadership in Islamic higher education, empirical evidence on the perception and measurement of Value-Based Leadership in Indonesia remains limited. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing survey questionnaires to gather data from undergraduate students. The study's population comprises students from three State Islamic Universities: UIN Sumatera Utara, UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan, and STAIN Madina, totaling 33,492 students. A stratified random sampling method was used to select a sample size of 380 respondents, ensuring representativeness across the institutions. The methodology involved descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), including Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), to test the hypothesized model. Data screening was performed to identify missing data, outliers, and assess normality using skewness and kurtosis values. Key findings indicate that the highest perceived dimension of VBL among respondents is commitment emerged as the most prominent perceived dimension, followed by accountability, Integrity, and Sense of direction. The initial CFA model for VBL did not meet the Goodness-of-Fit (GoF) requirements. However, after re-specification through the removal of 5 items re-specification for improved fit the revised model demonstrated improved fit indices(230.470, df = 95, = 2.426, CFI = .986, RMSEA = .061, TLI = .982, GFI = .932. The convergent validity of the revised VBL model was confirmed, with AVE values 0.5 and CR values 0.7, supporting the validity and reliability of the VBL measurement model. This study contributes to understanding the perception and measurement of value-based leadership and offers a validated framework to guide research and leadership development in Islamic higher education.

Abstract

Inheritance disputes constitute a significant proportion of civil cases adjudicated in Indonesian courts, particularly within the jurisdiction of the Religious Courts applying Islamic inheritance law. Conflicts frequently arise over the determination of rightful heirs, the calculation of distributive shares, and the management of inherited property. Such disputes are often rooted in dissatisfaction among heirs, competing claims of entitlement, and differing interpretations of legal and religious norms. The Islamic inheritance system, including the well-known 2:1 ratio between male and female heirs in certain categories, is sometimes perceived as inequitable, thereby intensifying familial tensions and litigation. This study aims to identify the dominant types of inheritance disputes brought before Indonesian courts and to analyze the judicial reasoning and legal methodologies employed in resolving them. Using a qualitative normative-empirical approach, the research examines court decisions, statutory regulations, and doctrinal interpretations to explore how judges reconcile classical Islamic inheritance principles with contemporary notions of justice and social harmony. The findings indicate that judges adopt various interpretative strategies, including systematic statutory interpretation, contextual reasoning, and mediation-oriented approaches, to ensure equitable and socially acceptable outcomes. By mapping the patterns of disputes and judicial considerations, this article contributes to a deeper understanding of the practical implementation of Islamic inheritance law in Indonesia and offers insights for improving consistency, fairness, and dispute resolution mechanisms in future inheritance cases.

Abstract

Indonesian constitutional practices, the office of president has undergone many major changes since the amendment of the 1945 Constitution. Some of these changes include the direct election of the president and vice president by the people and restrictions on the president's term of office. It is very beneficial that the president is elected directly by the people. This also shows that Indonesia uses a presidential and republican system of government. The focus of this study is the regulation of presidential candidates' leave from work from a legal and Saddu Dzariah perspective. This study uses qualitative methods uses library research by using the normative juridical method. The literature studied in the Law, Government Regulations, books, journals. The method used is normative juridical The main data was obtained through regulations related to this article. The Presidential elections of the reform era have undergone three significant changes, differing rules regarding the candidates' leave. including the obligation to take leave on holidays and not take leave on holidays. The difference in the Presidential elections of 2004 and 2009 was that the incumbent candidates took campaign leave, including holidays, whereas in the 2019 election, there was none. The similarity among the incumbent candidates: all three did not limit the campaign leave time for the candidates. When viewed from the perspective of Saddu Dzariah ensures that justice is applied correctly, avoiding damage. there are also concerns about influencing the state institutions below it, pressuring someone to vote for the incumbent President, disadvantaging other Presidential candidates.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of school culture, work attitudes, stress management, and job satisfaction on teachers' organizational commitment in schools. The study used a quantitative, survey-based approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to teachers and analyzed using path analysis to examine relationships among variables and to measure direct and indirect effects. The results indicate that school culture and work attitudes have a direct, positive, and significant effect on teachers' stress management. Furthermore, school culture, work attitudes, and stress management have a direct, positive, and significant effect on teachers' job satisfaction. The coefficient of determination indicates that these four variables together explain 74.8% of the variation in teachers' organizational commitment, while factors outside the research model influence the remaining 25.2%. These findings confirm that teachers' organizational commitment is shaped by the interaction of organizational, work behavior, psychological, and affective factors. The implications of this study suggest that strengthening teachers' organizational commitment can be achieved through developing a supportive school culture, fostering professional work attitudes, and enhancing job satisfaction in an integrated manner, thereby improving teacher performance and the effectiveness of educational organizations.
