Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning design of speech pattern material for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Wertamrrian using a problem based learning model and determine students' ability to understand mathematical concepts through number patterns after using a problem-based learning model for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Wertamrrian. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Wertamrian, Tanimbar Islands Regency in November 2022. This type of research is a qualitative research using a research design. Data collection methods used are research documentation, written tests and interviews. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusions or verification. The results of the study design research using a problem based learning (PBL) model on Bialngan Pattern material in class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Wertamrian are as follows: (a) In the first and second meeting learning, the researcher reviewed the material related to the learning objectives to be achieved. (b) The researcher gave 2 problems to students, namely 1 problem at the first meeting and 1 problem at the second meeting. Then ask students to check the sentences or questions contained in the problem that they have not understood. (c) Researchers divide students into groups to solve problems. (d) Researchers assist students in solving the problems given by providing the supports that have been provided in the HLT that the researchers designed. (e) Researchers provide opportunities for group representatives to present each problem that has been discussed. (f) Researchers together with students discuss and check the results of the discussions that have been presented and evaluate the learning process that occurs. (2) The ability to understand mathematical concepts of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Wertamrian on number pattern material after following the mathematics learning process using PBL is as follows: (a) In problem 1, students have a more dominant concept understanding ability in indicators 1, 3 and 4, namely restating each concept, presenting the concept in various forms of mathematical representation and using, utilizing and selecting certain procedures or operations in solving problems. (b) In problem 2, students have more dominant concept understanding skills in indicators 1, 3 and 4, namely restating each concept, presenting concepts in various forms of mathematical representation and using, utilizing, and choosing certain procedures or operations in solving problems.

Abstract

The continuity of education held in 2020 is limited by the emergence of the spread of covid 19. This has made several countries set policies to impose lock down in order to prevent the spread of the corona virus. In Indonesia itself, a Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) policy was implemented to suppress the spread of this virus. Because Indonesia is carrying out PSBB, all activities carried out outside the home must be stopped until this pandemic subsides. This study aims to determine the implementation of the Flipped Classroom model in online mathematics learning at SMP Negeri 4 Tanimbar Selatan. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. namely exploratory descriptive research which means that researchers want to explore broadly about the causes and effects or things that affect the occurrence of something. The subjects in this study were class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Tanimbar Selatan, totaling 18 students. The research instruments used in this study were: a) observation Observation aims to observe the effectiveness of student learning in learning mathematics online counting operations material by implementing the Flipped Classroom model, b) interview sheets are used to obtain information related to the effectiveness of learning mathematics material. operation of counting integers online by implementing the Flipped Classroom model c) Tests The test sheets in this study were given to students after being given mathematics lessons with learning videos that had been prepared by researchers to start learning in class. The results of this study indicate that applying the flipped classroom model can overcome problems in the face-to-face learning process and can improve student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the results of the final test of students who take part in the learning process because they feel happy when discussing in groups because they exchange ideas, help each other and freely ask for help from educators when experiencing difficulties.Keywords: Flipped Classroom, Math Learning. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi model Flipped Classroom pada pembelajaran matematika secara daring di SMP Negeri 4 Tanimbar Selatan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. yaitu penelitian deskriptif eksploratif yang berarti bahwa peneliti ingin menggali secara luas tentang sebab-akibat atau hal-hal yang mempengaruhi terjadinya sesuatu. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 4 Tanimbar Selatan yang berjumlah  18 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah: a) observasi Observasi bertujuan untuk mengamati efektivitas belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika materi operasi hitung bilangan bulat secara daring dengan mengimplementasikan model Flipped Classroom, b) lembar wawancara digunakan untuk mendapatkan informasi yang berkaitan dengan efektivitas pembelajaran matematika materi operasi hitung bilangan bulat secara daring dengan mengimplementasikan model Flipped Classroom c) Tes Lembar tes dalam penelitian ini diberikan kepada siswasesudahdiberikan pembelajaranmatematika dengan video pembelajaran yang sudah disiapkan oleh peneliti untuk memulai pembelajaran di kelas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa bahwa dengan menerapkan model flipped classroom dapat mengatasi masalah terhadap proses pembelajaran tatap muka dan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini dilihat dari hasil tes akhir siswa yang mengikuti proses pembelajaran dikarenakan merasa senang saat berdiskusi dalam kelompok karena mereka bertukar pikiran, saling membantu dan secara bebas meminta bantuan dari pendidik saat mengalami kesulitan.Kata Kunci: Flipped Classroom, Pembelajaran Matematika

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of mathematical concepts in the material system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV) based on the stages of APOS theory in terms of the learning styles. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. The subjects in this study were 32 students of class X SMA Negeri 10 Tanimbar Islands Regency. The instrument used in this research is a) observation. Observation aims to observe student activity in understanding mathematical concepts in SPLDV material in applying APOS theory in terms of student learning styles, b) interviews. Interview sheets were used to obtain information related to understanding mathematical concepts in SPLDV material in applying APOS theory in terms of student learning styles c) Tests The test sheets in this study were given to students after being given mathematics learning with an understanding of mathematical concepts in SPLDV material in applying APOS theory in terms of student learning styles. The results of this study indicate that the APOS theory as an elaboration of mental construction from actions (actions), processes (processes), objects (objects), schemes (schema) improves students with visual learning styles, auditory learning styles and kinesthetic learning styles can improve students' abilities. mathematical concepts in the material system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV).Keywords: APOS Theory, Learning Styles and SPLDV Concepts.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan konsep matematika pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) berdasarkan tahapan teori APOS ditinjau dari gaya belajar. Abstract

Abstract The ability of mathematics representation os one of the basic skill (ability) that must be had by students. This ability is the ability to tell the mathematics idea as a tool to find solution of mathematics problems. This ability needed by students to understand mathematics concept and to communicate mathematics idea. The purpose of the research was to describe the ability of mathematics representation of male and female students in finishing divergent mathematics problems. Library research was used to complete this research. The result was male students were able to complete divergent mathematics problems in symbolic representation indicator correctly and precisely, but they tend to be difficult in completing verbal representation. Whereas, female students were able to complete divergent mathematics problem on verbal representation indicator correctly and precisely, but they thend to be difficult in completing symolis representation.  Keywords: representation, divergent msthemstics problem, gender Abstrak Kemampuan representasi matematika merupakan salah satu keterampilan (kemampuan) dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa. Kemampuan ini merupakan kemampuan mengungkapkan ide matematika sebagai alat untuk mencari solusi dari masalah matematika. Kemampuan ini diperlukan oleh siswa untuk memahami konsep matematika dan mengkomunikasikan gagasan matematika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan representasi matematika siswa putra dan putri dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika divergen. Penelitian kepustakaan digunakan untuk melengkapi penelitian ini. Hasilnya adalah siswa laki-laki mampu menyelesaikan soal-soal matematika divergen indikator representasi simbolik dengan benar dan tepat, namun mereka cenderung kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan representasi verbal. Sedangkan siswa perempuan mampu menyelesaikan soal matematika divergen pada indikator representasi verbal dengan benar dan tepat, namun kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan representasi simbolis.Kata kunci: representasi, masalah msthemtics divergen, gender
