Abstract

Kegiatan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran pelaku Usaha Mikro dan Kecil (UMK) Dapoer Rendang Riri mengenai pentingnya kompetensi Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) dalam pengembangan usaha serta Mendorong pemahaman pelaku UMK  Dapoer Rendang Riri terhadap manfaat peningkatan kompetensi SDM bagi keberlanjutan dan pertumbuhan usaha mereka. Selanjutnya kegiatan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan oleh tim pengabdian dari Universitas Sumatera Barat pada tanggal 20 Oktober 2024. Fokus utama dari kegiatan ini adalah memperkuat pemahaman Kompotensi Sumber daya manusia dalam mengelola usaha yang dijalankan untuk keberlangsungan dan keberlanjutan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, diskusi kelompok, dan praktikum melalui simulasi serta studi kasus. Hasil dari kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan pelaku usaha, serta memberikan dampak positif bagi perkembangan UMKM yang ada di Kota Payakumbuh

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) opens up significant opportunities for transforming the world of education, particularly in terms of the efficiency of creating instructional materials. However, many educators in rural areas, such as in Solok, West Sumatra, have not yet made optimal use of this technology due to limited digital literacy. This community service initiative aims to enhance the capacity of instructors (university lecturers and school teachers) in the City and Regency of Solok to design, create, and develop AI-based interactive teaching materials. The approach involves hands-on workshops combined with intensive mentoring. The AI applications covered in the training included ChatGPT for developing syllabi and text-based materials, Gamma.app for visual presentations, and Quizizz AI for learning assessment. The target audience consisted of 45 participants, comprising university lecturers and high school teachers in Solok. Evaluation results from pre- and post-tests showed a 64% increase in participants’ theoretical understanding and a 78% increase in practical skills. Additionally, 92% of participants successfully produced AI-based instructional modules ready for implementation. This initiative concluded that AI integration has proven capable of reducing the time required to produce instructional materials while simultaneously improving the visual quality and diversity of educators’ instructional content.

Abstract

The main problems faced include limited managerial knowledge, the lack of integrated strategic planning, and the absence of comprehensive performance measurement tools. This community service activity aims to provide managerial education based on the Balanced Scorecard as a strategy to strengthen the performance of MS Charcoal Batik SMEs. The methods used in this service include socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation of Balanced Scorecard implementation tailored to the characteristics of SMEs. The results of the activity show an increased understanding among SME actors of managing business performance in a more structured way through the perspectives of finance, customers, internal business processes, as well as learning and growth. It is expected that Balanced Scorecard education can help MS Charcoal Batik SMEs in developing more focused and sustainable business strategies.
