Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan salah satu karya sastra novel yang berjudul Negeri 5 Menara karya A. Fuadi yang terbit pada tahun 2009 sebagai sumber kajian. Novel ini menceritakan budaya pesantren, perjuangan dan keinginan kuat tokoh utama Alif menempuh pendidikan untuk mencapai cita-citanya. Novel ini mencakup beberapa nilai seperti nilai agama, budaya, dan nilai pendidikan. Namun, pada kajian ini peneliti lebih berfokus pada nilai-nilai sosial di tokoh utama Alif. Metode kualitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk penelitian ini. pengumpulan datanya menggunakan teknik baca, analisis dan catat dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui nilai sosial yang terkandung dalam novel. dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukan bahwa terdapat beberapa nilai sosial yang ditunjukkan oleh Alif, seperti kasih sayang, kepedulian, kesetiaan, keadilan, kerja sama, tolong-menolng, rasa menerima, kewajiban, dan empati.

Abstract

Mustofa Bisri's poem “Putra-Putra Ibu Pertiwi” shows the duality of Indonesian life through analysis of symbolism and deep meaning. The results show that there is a balance between good and bad, and morals are the determinants of life's journey. This poem has a social critique that shows how important it is to maintain moral principles amidst the difficulties faced by society today. This study enhances our understanding of the moral and social dynamics found in contemporary Indonesian literature and also expands our understanding of semantics and symbolics in literature.

Abstract

This research examines the implicature and politeness principles in Praz Teguh's Warung Kopi (PWK) Podcast with Grazellecross. Through a pragmatic approach, the research reveals how conventional and conversational implicatures are applied and how politeness maxims maintain social relations. Grice's implicature theory and Leech's politeness maxims are used to analyze the speech in the podcast. The results of the analysis conducted show that in the podcast there are conventional and conversational implicatures. Politeness principles, such as the maxim of wisdom, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of respect, the maxim of simplicity, the maxim of agreement, and the maxim of sympathy are also found in the conversations in the podcast and become the key in creating a harmonious atmosphere of interaction. This research aims to know conceptually and analytically how implicature and politeness principles work in a communication. In addition, to analyze how speakers convey their intentions indirectly, as well as how they apply civility strategies in maintaining social relations.
