Abstract

Digital transformation in the health sector requires improved data utilization, particularly at the level of primary care services. Community health centers, as the frontline of health service delivery, face challenges such as uneven digital literacy among health workers, inadequate infrastructure, and a weak culture of data-driven decision-making. A training program on the use of e-Puskesmas data was conducted at Puskesmas Kendalkerep to strengthen the capacity of health workers in integrating data into service planning processes. This study employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design involving 52 participants selected through total sampling. Data were collected through pretest–posttest assessments, observations, and a questionnaire based on six dimensions of planning optimization: data utilization, program effectiveness, decision-making quality, coordination and collaboration, monitoring and evaluation, and human resource and infrastructure capacity. The analysis revealed significant improvements across all dimensions after the training. The average pretest scores, which ranged from 45.50 to 57.50, increased to 82.50–92.50 in the posttest. The paired sample t-test produced t-values of 6.04–9.44, exceeding the critical value of 2.01 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference before and after the training. Cohen’s d values ranged from 0.81 to 1.58, indicating large effect sizes, with the strongest impact observed in the dimension of coordination and collaboration. Observational findings also showed enhanced technical data-entry skills, greater participation in discussions, and increased awareness of the importance of data-driven planning.

Abstract

Non-hemorrhagic stroke is one of the leading causes of mortality and disability that significantly affects patients’ quality of life. Various clinical and comorbid factors are suspected to influence patient mortality, therefore comprehensive analysis is required to identify these determinants. This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with mortality among patients with Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke (NHS) at Tora Belo Regional Hospital, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. This study employed a quantitative design with an analytic observational method using a retrospective approach. The study was conducted from September to October 2025 at Tora Belo Regional Hospital, Sigi Regency, using secondary data obtained from medical records of NHS patients from September 2024 to 2025. The population consisted of 179 patients, and 124 respondents were selected as samples using probability sampling with a simple random sampling technique. Independent variables included systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, patient treatment time, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score, blood glucose level, cholesterol level, history of diabetes mellitus, and history of heart disease. Confounding variables included age, body mass index (BMI), duration of diabetes mellitus, diabetes complications, and duration of hypertension, while the dependent variable was NHS patient mortality. Data analysis was conducted through univariate analysis, bivariate analysis, and multivariate analysis using linear regression with SPSS version 23.The bivariate analysis showed significant associations between systolic blood pressure (p=0.002), diastolic blood pressure (p<0,001), treatment time (p<0,001), GCS score (p<0,001), blood glucose level (p<0,001), cholesterol level (p=0.003), history of diabetes mellitus (p=0.006), and history of heart disease (p=0.025) with NHS patient mortality. Confounding variables that significantly affected mortality included age (p=0.002), duration of diabetes mellitus (p<0,001), diabetes complications (p=0.047), and duration of hypertension (p<0,001), while BMI showed no significant association (p=0.086). Multivariate analysis indicated that treatment time was the most influential factor associated with NHS patient mortality (p=0.022) with an Adjusted R Square value of 0.331.These findings indicate that clinical and comorbid factors play an important role in the mortality of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients, emphasizing the importance of early detection and prompt management to improve patient survival outcomes.

Abstract

Preeclampsia remains a major contributor to maternal morbidity and mortality, particularly during the postpartum period. Effective blood pressure control and optimal breastfeeding practices may play important roles in maternal recovery, yet evidence on their combined effects remains limited. This study aimed to examine the association between breastfeeding practices and blood pressure control with maternal outcomes among postpartum women with preeclampsia. A prospective cohort study was conducted among 120 postpartum women diagnosed with preeclampsia in selected hospitals in Kediri Regency, Indonesia, between July and December 2024. Participants were selected using simple random sampling from a population of 185 eligible women. Data collection was performed at baseline (?48 hours postpartum) and follow-up visits at weeks 1, 2, 4, and 6 postpartum. Breastfeeding practices were assessed using a structured questionnaire, while blood pressure was measured using standardized procedures. Maternal outcomes included recovery status, persistence of hypertension, complications, and hospital readmission. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was conducted using SPSS. Blood pressure decreased significantly over the postpartum follow-up period. Women with good breastfeeding practices at 6 weeks postpartum had significantly higher odds of favorable maternal outcomes compared to those with suboptimal practices (AOR = 2.41; 95% CI: 1.12–5.18; p = 0.024). Controlled blood pressure was the strongest predictor of favorable outcomes (AOR = 3.76; 95% CI: 1.65–8.54; p = 0.002). Severity of preeclampsia was also significantly associated with maternal outcomes (AOR = 2.89; 95% CI: 1.31–6.39; p = 0.008). Breastfeeding practices and effective blood pressure control are important factors associated with improved maternal outcomes among postpartum women with preeclampsia. Strengthening integrated postpartum care, including continuous monitoring and breastfeeding support, is essential to optimize maternal recovery and reduce complications

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is a nutritional problem in pregnant women caused by a prolonged lack of energy intake. The prevalence of CED among pregnant women in Central Sulawesi Province has been recorded at 2,449 cases, with Sigi Regency ranking third highest with a prevalence of 3.25%. The long-term impacts of CED on pregnant women include the risk of maternal death, chronic anemia, and hemorrhage. For the fetus/child, the impacts include stunting, low birth weight, and intellectual disabilities. Many pregnant women still have limited knowledge regarding balanced nutrition during pregnancy, which may affect the health of both mother and baby. In 2025, there were 189 pregnant women with CED (14.41%) recorded in the working area of UPT Dolo Public Health Center. A community service program in the form of education on CED prevention and management was conducted at the Posyandu in Kotapulu Village, Sigi District, Sigi Regency. The results showed an increase in pregnant women's knowledge by 77.8%.

Abstract

Introduction: Childbirth assisted by skilled health personnel in healthcare facilities remains one of the key indicators for reducing maternal and neonatal mortality. Although antenatal care coverage in the working area of Muara Komam Public Health Center is relatively high, the coverage of institutional delivery reached only 91.3%, which is still below the national target. This condition indicates the need for innovative community empowerment strategies to improve knowledge, family support, and community participation in promoting safe childbirth. Objective: The purpose of this service was to improve the knowledge of pregnant women, families, health cadres, and community leaders regarding safe childbirth in healthcare facilities through the implementation of the PESAN CINTA (Peduli SayaNgi Calon Ibu BersaliN KiTa) program. Method: This public service was conducted by employing a community empowerment approach through health education using a Health Education Unit (SAP), interactive lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, leaflet distribution, pre-test and post-test evaluation, and the establishment of the PESAN CINTA WhatsApp Group as a sustainable communication and health education platform. The program was conducted on June 29, 2026, at Batu Butok Village Hall, involving 35 participants consisting of pregnant women, family members, health cadres, village officials, community leaders, religious leaders, and traditional birth attendants. Results: Participant attendance reached 100%. The average knowledge score increased from 55 in the pre-test to 85 in the post-test, representing an improvement of 30 points (54.5%). This finding indicates a substantial increase in participants' knowledge regarding safe childbirth, danger signs during pregnancy, birth preparedness, and the importance of delivering in healthcare facilities. In addition, the establishment of the PESAN CINTA WhatsApp Group strengthened communication among healthcare providers, pregnant women, families, health cadres, and community stakeholders, thereby supporting the sustainability of health education and maternal health promotion Conclusion: The PESAN CINTA program effectively improved community knowledge, strengthened family involvement, and enhanced community commitment to supporting childbirth in healthcare facilities
