Abstract

Breast cancer cause various psychological symptoms as a result of changes in body shape, uncertainty about the future, and the impact of recurrence of breast cancer treatment. As a result, many patients don’t adhere to treatment. Negative self-concept is a response that is maladaptive adjustment. According to WHO the incidence increased every year, 6.25 million people in 2002. The aim of research to describe the concept of self-breast cancer patients at the Clinic Surgical Hospital Dr M Djamil Padang 2013. This research is descriptive, at the Polyclinic Hospital Surgery Dr. M Djamil Padang. Population is all of breast cancer patients who visited the Polyclinic Surgery amounted to 234 people. Accidental sampling as many as 49 people. Data were collected in July 2013 using a questionnaire and analyzed by univariate. Results of the study the majority (57.1%) of respondents have a positive body image. Most (57.1%) of respondents have a negative self ideal. General (75.5%) of respondents have a negative self-esteem. Most (53.1%) of respondents have a negative self-identity and most (51%) of respondents have a negative self role. Surgery Clinic nurses are expected to be able to conduct assessments of physiological stressors, self-concept in patients with breast cancer by providing health education and motivate patients to seek treatment until complete. As well as the need for cognitive therapy given by a nurse specialist mental patients with breast cancer to improve their quality of life.

Abstract

Stroke is a clinical syndrome of neurological deficits, which can cause death and weakness. This weakness will impact on the client's body image changes after stroke. The research purpose is to explore client experiences pasca stroke weakness at changes in body image. Descriptive phenomenological qualitative research design with in-depth interviews to 7 pasca stroke with weakness clients undergoing outpatient neurology polyclinic of Dr. M. Djamil Padang City Hospital. Data were gathered in interview recording and field note form, then transcribed and analyzed by Colaizzi’s techniques. This study identified eight themes included the decrease in function and changes in the body's ability, emotional conflict to changes in the body, changes in social activities, increased ability at changes in body image, external support at changes in body image, coping strategies used for changes in body image, family support for healing and expectations for recovery of the body. Results showed weakness affects the physical, psychological and social that potential to cause psychosocial problems. Coping strategies that used, still might have a risk of maladaptive behavior. It can be a condition of the psychosocial needs nursing care and therapy psychiatric nursing can be given proper. It is expected nurse as nursing care providers can improve the role and function as counselors and nursing care providers with caring.

Abstract

Based on the 2018 Basic Health Research (RISKESDAS), one of the PTM whose prevalence has increased significantly is diabetes mellitus reaching 8.5%. prevalence in West Sumatra was 13,834, while the City of Solok was 1,796 in 2018. Diabetes mellitus can increase the risk of death in Covid-19 patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the compliance of Type-II DM patients in the management of the five pillars of DM (diet, taking medication, physical activity, education, and blood sugar control. This study used a descriptive-analytic cross sectional approach. The population was type 2 DM patients who visited the posbindu). The last 3 months amounted to 65 people.The results showed that adherence to medication, diet, education, and blood sugar control had a significant relationship with blood sugar levels with p value = <0.05. it turns out that the most dominant relationship with blood sugar levels is the regularity of taking medication with (p value 0.002) OR = 72.500. It is hoped that people who suffer from diabetes mellitus can understand the importance of implementing DM management. There is a policy from the Health Office involving family members to care so that the five pillars of DM management can be implemented properly so that DM patients can lead a life without complications.
