Abstract

Aquaponics is one form of urban farming, alongside hydroponics. Aquaponics also serves as a solution for food security and economic improvement for communities with limited land. In this community service program, training on aquaponics cultivation technology on limited land was carried out to improve the economy and food security of the residents of Taraban Village, Paguyangan District, Brebes Regency. Taraban Village was chosen as the location for this community service due to limited land availability, the need for economic improvement, strengthening food security, and the community's familiarity with farming. The aim of this training is to teach how to cultivate plants using the aquaponics system to enhance family income and fulfill food needs with limited land. The methods used in this community service activity include socialization, training, provision of tools, mentoring, and evaluation of plant cultivation using aquaponics technology. The training was attended by 31 participants and was held on August 10, 2025, at the Taraban Village Hall. The results achieved are a series of methods, namely the partners learned about how to cultivate plants, the partners were also able to directly practice plant cultivation using aquaponic technology, the partners could experience food sufficiency, namely plant and animal protein free from chemicals, and it can improve family economy. The types of plants cultivated are mustard greens, water spinach, and bok choy, as well as catfish. As for the participants who have been able to create an aquaponic system, it is 65% of the participants who attended the training.

Abstract

Processing milk into yogurt provides an opportunity for food diversification that can be developed into a value-added home-based microenterprise. However, the development of this opportunity is often constrained by limited production skills and inadequate understanding of basic business feasibility among community members. This community service program aimed to strengthen the technical skills of women in yogurt production while introducing basic economic literacy to support household-based entrepreneurship. The program involved 15 women from RT 03 RW 10, Bancarkembar Village, North Purwokerto District, Banyumas Regency, Indonesia, and was implemented using a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach through community engagement, hands-on training (learning by doing), and participatory evaluation. Participants practiced yogurt processing based on food hygiene principles and conducted a simple business feasibility simulation covering initial investment, production costs, selling price, projected profit, and Break Even Point (BEP). The program was characterized by active participant involvement and improved understanding of yogurt fermentation techniques and its potential as a household-based business opportunity. Based on the simulation conducted during the training, yogurt production was estimated to generate a monthly net profit of IDR 6,918,337 with an investment payback period of approximately 25 days. The integration of food processing training and business feasibility analysis represents the main contribution of this program by combining technical competency development with economic literacy to support the growth of sustainable home-based food microenterprises. ABSTRAKPengolahan susu menjadi yoghurt menawarkan peluang diversifikasi pangan yang dapat dikembangkan sebagai usaha rumah tangga bernilai tambah. Namun, pemanfaatan peluang tersebut masih menghadapi kendala berupa keterbatasan keterampilan produksi dan rendahnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai aspek kelayakan usaha. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas ibu rumah tangga dalam memproduksi yoghurt sekaligus memperkenalkan analisis ekonomi sederhana sebagai dasar pengembangan usaha pangan olahan. Program dilaksanakan dengan melibatkan 15 ibu rumah tangga di RT 03 RW 10 Kelurahan Bancarkembar, Kecamatan Purwokerto Utara, Kabupaten Banyumas melalui pendekatan Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) yang mencakup sosialisasi, praktik langsung (learning by doing), dan evaluasi partisipatif. Peserta mempraktikkan proses pembuatan yoghurt berdasarkan prinsip higiene pangan serta mengikuti simulasi kelayakan usaha yang meliputi investasi awal, biaya produksi, harga jual, laba, dan Break Even Point (BEP). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan keterlibatan aktif peserta selama pelatihan serta peningkatan pemahaman mengenai teknik fermentasi dan peluang pengembangan yoghurt sebagai usaha rumah tangga. Berdasarkan simulasi kelayakan usaha, produksi yoghurt diperkirakan menghasilkan laba bersih sebesar Rp6.918.337 per bulan dengan periode pengembalian investasi sekitar 25 hari. Integrasi pelatihan teknologi pengolahan pangan dan literasi ekonomi menjadi kontribusi utama kegiatan ini dalam mendukung pengembangan UMKM berbasis pangan olahan di tingkat rumah tangga.

Abstract

Pelatihan penggunaan perangkat lunak SolidWorks bagi mahasiswa Teknik Mesin merupakan upaya strategis dalam meningkatkan kompetensi gambar teknik serta literasi teknologi yang dibutuhkan di dunia industri modern. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan selama dua hari di Universitas Perwira Purbalingga dengan melibatkan 20 mahasiswa yang mengikuti seluruh rangkaian kegiatan secara aktif. Pelatihan dirancang melalui tahapan pengenalan konsep dasar desain teknik, praktik pembuatan sketsa dua dimensi, pemodelan tiga dimensi, perakitan komponen (assembly), hingga penyusunan gambar kerja sebagai acuan manufaktur. Metode demonstrasi dan praktik langsung digunakan untuk memperkuat pemahaman peserta terhadap fitur-fitur SolidWorks sekaligus meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam mengaplikasikan perangkat lunak tersebut secara mandiri. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan metode pre-test dan post-test pada empat indikator kompetensi, yaitu penguasaan toolbar SolidWorks, Sketch 2D, Part Modeling, serta Assembly & Drawing. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata kompetensi peserta dari 50% pada pre-test menjadi 86,25% pada post-test atau meningkat sebesar 72,5%. Peningkatan tertinggi terjadi pada aspek Assembly & Drawing sebesar 44 poin. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan SolidWorks efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pemodelan 3D dan kesiapan mahasiswa menghadapi kebutuhan industri berbasis teknologi.

Abstract

SF6 gas-insulated circuit breakers play an important role in power transmission systems by interrupting and connecting electrical current during both normal and fault conditions. This study aims to analyze the operation and maintenance of SF6 circuit breakers at the 150 kV Purbalingga Substation and evaluate their compliance with the operational standards of PT PLN (Persero). The research methods included field observation, interviews with substation operators, documentation study, and literature review. The results indicate that the SF6 gas pressure remained within the normal operating range of 0.55–0.65 MPa, the mechanical operating system functioned properly, and no significant gas leakage was detected. Maintenance activities were carried out periodically through daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections in accordance with PLN’s standard operating procedures. In addition, circuit breaker operations, both remotely through SCADA and manually by operators, were performed according to established switching procedures. The implementation of disciplined preventive maintenance enabled the SF6 circuit breakers at the 150 kV Purbalingga Substation to support the reliability and continuity of electrical power transmission effectively.
