Abstract

First Aid Training in Accidents (P3K) in Youth Organization and Health Care Cadres in Rangkah Kidul Village is one form of community service in the form of counseling aimed at increasing the understanding and skills of the general public towards first aid in accidents. The implementation of these activities on December 7, 2019 took place at the Rangkah Kidul Village Hall, Sidoarjo District, Sidoarjo Regency. The target is Youth Organization and Health Cadre of Rangkah Kidul Village, Sidoarjo. Before the activity is carried out, there is a process of compiling the activity for approximately 2 months before the activity is carried out, starting from determining the theme of the training to applying for permission to the parties concerned. As a form of evaluation, the activity was attended by 28 participants consisting of Health Cadres, Youth Organization, Village Officials, Head of RT / RW, and LKMD representatives. Participants participated in the activity with enthusiasm and seemed very enthusiastic, the training activities could run on time and smoothly. Abstract

Community Service Activities in the form of Mental Health Therapy Training for Adolescents is one form of community service in the form of seminars aimed at conveying opinions or something new to participants, namely BK and teachers of Vocational High School in Sidoarjo with the hope that participants will get something new to be developed to become one thing that is broader about mental health therapy in adolescents. The activity was carried out on April 7, 2021 at the Health Polytechnic of Kerta Cendekia, Sidoarjo with the target being BK teachers at the Senior High School and Vocational High School levels in Sidoarjo. Before the activity was carried out, there was a process of preparing activities for 3 weeks before the activity was carried out, starting from the selection of extension materials to submission to related parties. As an evaluation, the activity was attended by BK teachers at the Senior High School and Vocational High School in Sidoarjo. Participants participated in these activities with enthusiasm and conducive, the activities can be carried out on time smoothly.

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country that has quite high nutritional problems. Efforts to improve nutritional status must begin as early as possible, precisely starting from the fetal life period. This period is the early period of life when you are still in the womb until the first 2 years of life. The focus of handling nutritional problems is to prevent malnutrition which is a major health problem in toddlers because it can hinder the growth and development process during the First 1000 Days of Life. There is a need for knowledge regarding stunting in teenagers because teenage girls will face the pregnancy period which is important in preventing stunting. This counseling was carried out in Srigonco Village, Malang Regency. The target of this community service is all junior high school students from grade 7 to grade 9. Prior to carrying out extension activities, there is a process of preparing activities for approximately four weeks prior to implementation activities, starting from determining the type of extension to applying for permits to related parties. As a form of evaluation, the activity was attended by 35 students from grade 7 to grade 9, the participants took part in the activity with very enthusiasm, and the counseling activities ran smoothly.

Abstract

Adolescent health is important in determining the quality of the nation. During the age, problems arise that affect mental health, including anxiety, stress, past trauma, and so on. They need to learn how to maintain their mental health as able as carry out their roles in society. In order to prevent teenage mental health issues, education programs about mental health for pupils serve as a type of community service. The community service took place on December, 13th, 2023 in SMK Kerta Cendekia Sidoarjo. The target of this activity was students aged 12-15 years. There was a process of preparing the activity for approximately 4 weeks by starting the permits from related parties. As a form of evaluation, the activity was attended by 40 students and they took part in the activity cooperative and enthusiastically. They were able to describe the criteria of mental health and how to maintain it.

Abstract

Background: Relaxation and distraction are nonpharmacologic techniques in the therapy of anxiety. In circumcision patients, the experience of anxiety is felt by the patients, either children or adolescent. Objective: The study aimed to compare between relaxation and distraction technique in reducing anxiety in circumcision patients. Methods: The study design was a pre-experimental two-group pretest-posttest research design. Total 36 respondents on this study that divided equal to two group (relaxation group and distraction group). The respondents have been assessed their anxiety level before and after the intervention (pre-test and post-test for each group). The instrument of anxiety was Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HARS). The statistics test used Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Results: The Wilcoxon Signed rank test results for relaxation group was in a Z statistic of -3.317 which results in an exact p value of .001; and the results for distraction group was in a Z statistic of -2.449 which results in an exact p value of .014. Conclusion: There was different result between relaxation and distraction group that showed relaxation group reducing anxiety in higher score of a Z statistic compared with distraction group. However, those technique were effectively in decreasing the anxiety level of circumcision patients.

Abstract

Background: Breast milk is an adequate food for babies in the process of growth and development because its content such as nutrients and protective factors play a role increasing the speed of metabolism and growth thus as to reduce infant morbidity and mortality. Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the body weight of infants aged 6-12 months between exclusive and non-exclusive breastfeeding. Methods: The method used that descriptive-comparative research design. Samples in the study were taken using the Total Sampling method. It was 70 respondents divided into two groups namely exclusive breastfeeding and non-exclusive breastfeeding. The data were taken using a Kartu Menuju Sehat (KMS, Standard Growth Charts) and analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a meaning level of 5% (α=0.05). Result: There were 21 (60%) infants with normal body weight that received exclusive breastfeeding and 19 (54.2%) infants with more body weight that received non-exclusive breastfeeding. The results of the hypothesis test using Chi-Square obtained a p-value of 0.006 (P<0.05). Conclusion: The early days of life are very important for infants regarding to their nutrition. Breastfeeding mother need support from the family thus the infants could get exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Mitigasi bencana sebagai upaya mengurangi risiko dari bencana tanah longsor. Kondisi geografis yang berbukit dan curam dengan struktur tanah dapat menimbulkan bencana. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh sosialisasi mitigasi bencana tanah longsor dengan metode interaktif, yaitu tabletop exercise. Metode penelitian dengan desain kuantitatif dan kuasi eksperimental. Digunakan pre dan post test yang tidak terkontrol. Jumlah sampelnya adalah 50 responden dengan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen penelitian yaiitu kuesioner. Analisis data yaitu dengan Uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum diberikan sosialisasi dengan table top , tingkat pengetahuan responden sebagian besar kurang (62 % ) dan setelah sosialisasi sebanyak 78% responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan baik. Hasil uji statistik didapatkan ? value adalah 0,000 <0,05. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh sosialisasi mitigasi bencana tanah longsor dengan media simulasi table top terhadap tingkat pengetahuan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan strategi mitigasi bencana yang lebih efektif di daerah rawan longsor.
