Abstract

This article discusses women's rights to access education and how Islam theologically and historically breaks down the domestic stigma that places women only in the realm of the kitchen and household. Through a qualitative approach with a literature study method, this article analyzes the texts of the Qur'an, hadith, and other relevant texts to answer accusations of discrimination against women and explain the priority of knowledge for every Muslim, both men and women. Islam views education as a basic human right and places women as the main pillar in the process of family and community education. The phrase that "mother is the first madrasah" reflects how crucial the role of women is in giving birth to a knowledgeable and moral generation. Therefore, limiting access to education for women is a form of inequality that is contrary to Islamic principles. Domestic stigma is more born from patriarchal cultural construction, not from religious teachings. This article emphasizes the need to build collective awareness to eliminate gender discrimination in the world of education.

Abstract

Purpose:This study aims to examine the controversy surrounding the statement of "Bung Karno Madzhab" made by Panji Gumilang, a leader of Al-Zaitun Islamic Boarding School in Indramayu. Within the teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah, there exists a system of following religious schools of thought, commonly known as madzhab, which generally recognizes four madzhab (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali). Panji Gumilang's statement about "Bung Karno Madzhab" introduces a new concept that contradicts the Nusantara Islamic traditions, which acknowledges these four madzhab.Methodology:This research utilizes a literature review method with a content analysis approach and a literature study approach to understand Panji Gumilang's statements, public responses, and literature on madzhab in Islam and Islam Nusantara as a representation of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah.Findings:The findings of this research indicate that the claim of "Bung Karno's Madzhab" is an act of carelessness and deception, as there is no historical evidence suggesting that Bung Karno established his own madzhab within Islam.Implication:This research provides valuable insights into the implications and understanding of religion related to the controversial statement of "Bung Karno's Madzhab." It serves as a call for the Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah community in Nusantara to deepen their understanding of Islam critically and comprehensively.

Abstract

The learning outcomes of third-grade students at SD Negeri Klatak Banyuwangi on the theme “Aku Senang Berkalimah Tayyibah” were low during the pre-cycle stage, with an average score of 63 and a mastery level of 36.36%. This underachievement was attributed to conventional teaching methods that lacked active student engagement. This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes through the implementation of flashcard games, an interactive and enjoyable learning approach. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observations, and interviews and were analyzed descriptively using qualitative and quantitative methods. The results demonstrated significant improvement in each cycle. In cycle 1, the average student score increased to 78.36, with a mastery level of 66.67%. In cycle 2, the average score reached 90, with 100% mastery. The flashcard games method effectively enhanced students’ understanding of the material, motivated them to learn actively, and created an interactive learning environment. This study recommends applying similar methods in other subjects to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

This article discusses the relationship between the ideology of Marhaenism initiated by Soekarno and the values of independence and social justice in the Qur'an. Marhaenism was born from concern for the conditions of the common people who do not have the means of production and are often victims of an unfair system. On the other hand, the Qur'an contains teachings about the importance of working hard, living independently, and upholding social justice. Through a qualitative approach with a literature study method, this article examines the texts of the Qur'an accompanied by interpretations from the Ulama', and the works of Soekarno's thought to find common ground between the two. The results of the study show that Marhaenism can be seen as a contextual interpretation of Qur'anic values, especially in fighting for a just, independent society, and free from oppression. Thus, the integration of Islamic teachings and Marhaenism can be an ethical foundation in building social justice in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to describe the implementation of the flag ceremony at SDN 2 Kalipuro and to identify the character education values embedded within this routine activity. The focus is on how ceremonial practices contribute to shaping students’ discipline, responsibility, and national identity. Research Methodology: The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to capture the lived experiences of teachers and students. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, ensuring systematic interpretation of findings. Results: The flag ceremony is consistently held every Monday, supported by preparatory staff training on Saturdays. Findings reveal that the ceremony fosters values such as discipline, responsibility, patriotism, religiosity, curiosity, and effective communication. Nevertheless, challenges include the unpaved school yard, student tardiness, incomplete ceremonial attributes, and the absence of a fixed schedule for ceremony instructors, which occasionally disrupt the smooth implementation. Conclusions: The flag ceremony at SDN 2 Kalipuro proves to be an effective tool for instilling character values among students. However, the sustainability and efficiency of this activity require improvements in infrastructure, time management, and organizational consistency. Limitations: The study is limited to one school context and does not measure the long-term behavioral impact of character values on students. Contribution: This research provides insights into the integration of character education through routine school activities. It offers a practical reference for other schools to strengthen character-building initiatives via structured ceremonies.

Abstract

Conflict between students is an inseparable part of the dynamics of social interactions in elementary school environments. If properly managed, conflict can be an effective means of character education. This study aims to describe the forms and causes of conflict that occurred at SDN 2 Kalipuro, identify conflict management strategies implemented by the school, and analyze their implications for strengthening students’ character. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques included observations, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that student conflicts in elementary schools are generally mild and caused by differences in interests, momentary emotions, and lack of social communication skills. Schools implement various conflict management strategies such as collaborative approaches, mediation, counseling, and strengthening value-based regulations. These strategies have a positive impact on the formation of student characters, especially in terms of tolerance, responsibility, empathy, honesty, and self-control. Thus, conflict management carried out in an educational and sustainable manner can be an integral part of character education in elementary schools.
