Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period marked by significant physical, emotional, and social changes that can impact the development of self-esteem. During this period, adolescents often face challenges in finding their identity, which can lead to psychological issues such as anxiety and feelings of inferiority. Low self-esteem can affect emotional well-being and social behavior. Therefore, it is crucial to find effective approaches to improve their self-esteem. Method: This study uses a simple literature review method, which involves reviewing various relevant literatures on group counseling and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Discussion: Self-esteem is defined as an individual’s assessment of their value and abilities, which influences various aspects of life, including academic achievement and social relationships. Adolescents often experience low self-esteem due to social pressures, especially through social media platforms like TikTok, which exacerbate feelings of inferiority. REBT, developed by Albert Ellis, can address this issue by replacing irrational thoughts with rational ones, enhancing self-confidence, and reducing anxiety. Group counseling based on REBT can help adolescents improve their self-esteem, enhance social relationships, and develop constructive coping skills to face life’s challenges.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) di sekolah sangat bergantung pada profesionalisme guru BK sebagai pelaksana utama layanan tersebut. Masih rendahnya pemahaman terhadap fungsi strategis BK serta adanya persepsi negatif di lingkungan sekolah menunjukkan pentingnya meningkatkan kualitas profesionalisme guru BK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara konseptual bagaimana profesionalisme guru BK berpengaruh terhadap efektivitas pelaksanaan layanan BK di sekolah. Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review dengan menelaah berbagai jurnal dan sumber ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru BK yang profesional mampu menyusun layanan secara sistematis, menjalankan tugas sesuai kode etik, dan menjalin hubungan efektif dengan siswa maupun stakeholder sekolah lainnya. Profesionalisme guru BK terbukti berdampak pada meningkatnya kualitas layanan, kenyamanan psikologis siswa, serta pencegahan konflik dan masalah perilaku di sekolah. Namun, tantangan seperti keterbatasan kompetensi, latar belakang pendidikan non-BK, dan kurangnya pelatihan masih menjadi hambatan. Oleh karena itu, penguatan profesionalisme perlu dilakukan secara berkelanjutan melalui supervisi dan dukungan institusional.

Abstract

Learning difficulties may be caused by inappropriate teaching methods, inappropriate curriculum focus, or even complicated learning. Therefore, it is necessary to have an appropriate learning theory model that involves interaction during learning so that students are active. Many learning theory models can be applied in the learning process. However, all learning theory models have their advantages and disadvantages. Through popular learning theories, it is hoped that ineffective teaching and learning processes can be minimized. Some of the learning methods in popular learning theories that will be discussed this time are: intelligent character education, quantum learning and accelerated learning.

Abstract

Career planning is a crucial aspect of student development, especially at the senior high school level, as preparation for entering higher education and the workforce. However, in reality, many students still experience confusion and unpreparedness in making career decisions. Guidance and counseling services play a significant role in fostering career maturity among high school students. This study aims to determine the effect of career guidance implementation on the career planning of advanced class F students at SMA Negeri 2 Sutera. This research employs a quantitative approach using simple linear regression analysis. The population in this study consists of all 114 advanced class F students, with 83 respondents selected as samples using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed to examine the relationship between the implementation of career guidance and the clarity of students’ career planning. The results of this study are expected to contribute to improving the effectiveness of career guidance programs in schools to help students develop well-structured and potential-based career plans.

Abstract

Career planning is an important aspect of student development, especially at the high school level where students are in the stage of choosing further education or a career path. Guidance and Counseling (GC) plays an active role in assisting students with career planning through effective and well-targeted assessment services. This study uses a literature review method to examine the importance of validity and reliability in developing career planning assessment instruments. The findings show that validity, including content, construct, and criterion validity, as well as reliability, including consistency and stability, are crucial elements in producing accurate and trustworthy assessment instruments. In conclusion, the development of assessment instruments in GC services must consider both validity and reliability aspects to provide a true and consistent picture of students’ potential and career direction.

Abstract

This descriptive study aims to conceptually examine the three fundamental dimensions of the philosophy of science: ontology, epistemology, and axiology. These three aspects serve as the philosophical foundation for constructing a coherent scientific framework. Ontology explores the nature of existence and the boundaries of scientific inquiry; epistemology investigates the sources, methods, and validity of knowledge; while axiology examines the values and purposes of science, including ethical considerations and its utility for human life. This research employs a library research method by analyzing both classical and contemporary philosophical literature. The study finds that integrating these three dimensions is essential to ensure that the development of scientific knowledge is not only methodologically valid but also morally responsible and socially beneficial.
