Abstract

This systematic literature review (SLR) examines the effectiveness of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model in enhancing student learning outcomes, motivation, and social skills across various educational levels and subjects. Guided by the PRISMA protocol, the study analyzed 35 peer-reviewed articles published between 2019 and 2024. Findings reveal that STAD significantly improves academic performance, collaboration, and engagement, particularly for lower-achieving students, by fostering interactive, student-centered learning environments. The integration of supplementary media (e.g., videos, games) further amplifies these benefits. Compared to conventional methods, STAD demonstrates superior outcomes in promoting critical thinking and active participation. The study highlights STAD’s alignment with 21st-century educational demands, emphasizing its adaptability to diverse subjects, including mathematics, science, and social studies. However, gaps remain in understanding its long-term efficacy, cross-cultural applicability, and integration with emerging technologies like AI and VR. The research underscores the need for future studies to explore these dimensions, ensuring STAD’s relevance in modern, technology-driven classrooms. Implications suggest that educators and policymakers should consider STAD as a viable strategy to enhance collaborative learning, inclusivity, and skill development, ultimately contributing to higher-quality education systems.

Abstract

In the contemporary educational landscape, integrating philosophical frameworks—ontology, axiology, and epistemology—into differentiated instruction strategies is essential for enhancing literacy in elementary schools. This study employs a literature review methodology, analyzing 14 reviewed articles to explore how these philosophical approaches inform effective teaching practices. The findings reveal that educators' perceptions of knowledge (ontology) significantly influence literacy strategies, while understanding values (axiology) is crucial for creating inclusive learning environments. Additionally, students' epistemological beliefs impact their engagement with literacy instruction, highlighting the need for educators to address these beliefs in their teaching. The implications of this research suggest that a comprehensive framework incorporating these philosophical dimensions can improve literacy outcomes and foster equitable learning opportunities for diverse learners.

Abstract

Interest in reading is a crucial foundation for achieving students' academic success, particularly at the elementary school level. However, in recent years, there has been a noticeable decline in reading interest among elementary school students, which has significantly impacted their academic performance. This study aims to analyze the inhibiting factors that affect students' interest in reading and their impact on learning achievement. The method employed is a literature review, gathering data from various studies published within the last five years. The findings indicate that low reading interest is caused by a lack of motivation, limited access to appropriate reading materials, and non-innovative learning approaches. Furthermore, the school and family environments also play a vital role in shaping students' reading habits. This research underscores the need for collaboration between schools and families to create an environment that fosters a habit of reading. By understanding the factors that hinder reading interest, it is hoped that improvements in students' academic achievement can be achieved, better preparing them for future educational challenges.
